"The Oaks at Braselton was very nice. The tour was well done. The person who gave us the tour was very helpful. She gave me a lot of tips about what to look for and what kinds of things we would need to do. She was exceptionally good. It was well-maintained, and it was appropriate for what we were looking for. The accommodation was very nice. They have studio and one-bedroom apartments. They were having a special dessert, and the person was playing live music in the common area, so that activity was very nice."

"The Legacy Personal Care Home in Lawrenceville was very nice, very clean, and well-kept. The owner was very pleasant, and the residents seemed like they were happy. It's just a house without a sign, and we went to look for memory care for my mom. The residents were all in the same common area, which was the living room, and they were watching a game show. They also have bingo, and they do all kinds of other activities with them. I checked the dining area, which is a family living room style, and it seems appropriate and spacious."

"I toured the Regency House of Buford. Everyone we met was very accommodating and very personable. The person we talked to was very good. They showed us the whole thing. They showed us where they eat and where they have activities. They showed us their apartments. It was a very positive one. We saw the studio and one-bedroom apartments. They have a calendar full of activities. All of them were the same. They all have morning devotions and exercises at 10:00 a.m.. They go out for lunch once a month or once a week, something like that. It was well-maintained, and the staff was very helpful."

"Chapters Living of Buford was not something we were interested in because one section was duplex homes, but the people there would have to go from their homes to the activity center for meals. Another part inside was assisted living, but the people there were not as high-functioning as my mother was. They needed more care. It wasn't that it wasn't nice or that the person didn't give me a good tour, it was just that it was not appropriate for what we were looking for. We went into the independent living, and their duplexes were very nice. Their community center was very nice where they had their meals. The grounds were well kept and everything. Their duplexes were very nice. They had a garage, which was well-kept, so they were very nice."

"I toured The Landing of Winder. I liked it. It was an awesome facility and beautiful. My visit was very informative. It was actually wonderful. It's a beautiful facility and a very calming atmosphere. It's one of my top lists right now. It was an absolutely wonderful place. I liked the calming atmosphere there and the design of the layout for the residence. It's very simple. I think less is more, especially since it would not overwhelm my father. It would be easy for him to find his way around. They had a movie theater and an outside garden. Their dining halls are nice. They have one on each floor and their programs. They have an interactive program. It's some kind of computer where you can do memory games for family and residence. The executive director was outstanding, very informative, and pleasant."

"Heartis Suwanee was nice. It's kind of big. It has five buildings. The staff said they have 85 independent units and they're nice. I thought they were a little more expensive than others. They want $4900 for a two-bedroom, which I thought was a little high, but they're real nice and everybody there seems to be happy. It's well maintained, I could tell from my one-day visit. The staff was very nice. Emily was very prompt. The woman at the concierge was just as sweet as she could be. The minute I got there, I said I was looking for Emily and she called her and said, "She'd be right here." I did not eat the food, but the people that live there think the food is good. They got a nice-looking pool table and a room for that. It's kind of like an atrium and it overlooks the lobby."

"My mom is staying in Magnolia Senior Living Loganville's memory care. Everything was in good condition, clean, and looked like it was well-kept. I was pleased with it. I think the staff was caring. Everything that we wanted from them, as far as attention for my mom, they adequately provided. They have devotion every morning, and Bible study once a week. They have a garden where you can take your loved one out for fresh air or sit outside under a canopy and have private time with them, whether they're in a wheelchair or if they're able to walk alone. They always had tablecloths, cloth napkins, and silverware. Tables were always set for every meal and cleared right after the meal was completed by the residents. The food was balanced and tasty too. I don't have any complaints."

"My mother lives at Wisdom Well Living. Finally I have peace of mind knowing that she is taken care of. They spend quality time with each resident and since it is a small facility that makes it possible. It is kept neat and clean and all of the meals are delicious. It is obvious with the care they give that Beatrice and David are passionate about their care giving. I would highly recommend Wisdom Well Living if you are looking for care for your loved one. "

"My mother-in-law is a resident of The Joy Senior Living. We chose the place because of the cost, and it's close to where we live. Her apartment is very nice and one of the largest rooms we found when I was searching for a place for her. It is very clean and private. I've been there when she's eating a couple of times, and the food is always really good. They make all their food in their kitchen, and she eats well. The staff has been great. As for the activities, she's always doing something when we go by. I took care of her myself for the last year and a half, and it's not easy, so I appreciate what they're doing."

"I toured Antebellum James Burgess. It looked like someone's home. There was a lot of space. It wasn't all broken up where it would be difficult to navigate. It made sense to have that much openness for a facility where people could be wheeled around and furniture could be moved as needed. They had rearranged tables in the middle of the room so that all the residents could sit at the table and do an activity together. They didn't have all these separate tables or all these different rooms. It was a nice, big area, with a beautiful, big stone fireplace. It was very clean and neat, but also open to changes in activities and demands of the residents. The people were so nice, everybody was very nice. The assistant director was very knowledgeable, and she showed me all the different things I wanted. She even showed me all the things that we didn't need yet. So, as the needs progressed to something more or something different, she showed all of that as well, not just what I was there for, but what the future might hold for my family member."

"I would give Towne Club Windermere a five all the way around. That was my favorite place, but it is set up more like an apartment building. It's a tower and you had to get on an elevator, and Mom wasn't comfortable with that, but the rooms were fantastic. They were like regular-size apartments. They have a beautiful pool, a garden area, a movie room, a hair salon, and tour buses that would take you to the grocery stores and stuff. Any amenity that you could think of they had there. They did social hour; you come down in the main room and have appetizers and things like that. They go from independent living all the way to memory care. The staff during the tour was very, very attentive. She showed us several different sized rooms and she gave us the pricing. She made sure that we had all the meals. She let us taste the meals, which were very, very good. She took us around. She was very patient with Mom and Dad. We actually sat down around the pool with some of the people there, and we were able to talk to the residents there, ones that were in wheelchair and ones that were a little bit more independent. My concern then at that point in time was finding a place for both my Mom and Pop and Pop to be more active. The staff introduced Pop to some of the guys there that still play golf and things like that, so he really felt comfortable there. It was Mom that was not at the time, that's why we didn't do so. We actually were there three times and we signed a contract with them twice. Mom just didn't think she could do that elevator. She didn't feel comfortable with it."

"I enjoyed Belmont Village Johns Creek. They were friendly and personable. It was a nice place. The staff during the tour was very knowledgeable and friendly. She knew what she was talking about. I would feel comfortable having my mother-in-law go there. The apartments were unfurnished, but they were nice. They have little balconies and screened-in porches, which were good. They have a little kitchenette. It wasn't like a high rise, and I liked that. It was like a village, so that was good. I looked at the dining area and it looked nice, they had a little cafeteria and cafe. They have a courtyard and a large outdoor area where you can hang out. I like that it's smaller than the other place we visited."

"I went to Oaks at Shiloh Point. It was very small, and it only had 35 beds. They had lots of activities. The person I was supposed to meet with was not there, so I was shown around by a very nice maintenance. It wasn't as expensive as some of the other ones, but it was old. Laundry was not included, too. They have studios and small one-bedrooms. The staff was nice, and he was knowledgeable because, at one point in time, he had owned some of these independent living and assisted living places, so I felt he was knowledgeable."

The facility is clean. It doesn't smell. They have games. They have a football night and a movie night. They have physical therapy for the ones who need it. They also have different board games that they play with the residents. They have a podiatrist there. All the people that work there are certified in memory care. They have a barber that comes. They have a person that comes to take care of the ladies' hair, if they so desire."
