We chose Charter Senior Living of Buford for my dad because of its location. We also targeted that area because we needed speech therapy. As it turns out, the company they have a contract with did not have a speech therapist. Their staff is wonderful though, very attentive and caring. They have movie nights, bingo, arts and crafts, and several different things. They also have a large sitting room with a fireplace. They keep it stocked with snacks and coffee. They have physical therapy on-site, too.

My dad moved into the community in August 2021. He enjoyed his apartment. He had plenty of room for all of the things he liked to tinker with during the day. My dad only lived at Charter Buford for 2 months, but he called the community home. Dad went into the hospital in October and he returned to the community on hospice. The staff came in every 2 hours to turn my dad, make sure he was comfortable, and check on me and my sister to make sure we were doing ok and if we needed anything. Not only did the staff and management love and care for our dad, but they loved and cared for us. I highly recommend Charter Senior Living of Buford!!! Thank you for all you do for the residents and families.

I toured Charter Senior Living of Buford for my mom. In general, for some people it is OK. For me particularly, it didn't work because the price was so high. The rooms were OK, but you have to furnish them; you have to provide the furniture. This didn't work for me because the price was so high and you have to provide the furniture; also, there was a language barrier. The staff was very knowledgeable and very nice. She informed me of everything. The place was clean. I saw the dining area, too, and it was nice and clean. They showed me a room, probably a showroom. They took me on the wing for the memory care, but I wasn't able to go in and visit and to see exactly what's going on. They said it was almost lunchtime; they said the residents might be there and they didn't want them to be stressed.

My mom moved into Charter Senior Living of Buford. The biggest problem has been that they changed hands in the last three weeks, and so they're not quite what they were before. I think they are just getting used to some new stuff. The director is leaving tomorrow; that means there will be somebody new there, too. The chef is different, so the food is not as good, and the other residents are talking to them and telling them it is not the same. The people in charge, like the sales director and the head nurse, are very nice and very accommodating, and they try really hard to work with you, which I appreciate. Whatever unhappiness you have, they are willing to work with it and try to fix for you. We moved in on a late Saturday afternoon, which was not their normal time, but we were coming from out of state, so they accommodated us anyway, so they did not really get their welcoming-tour type thing that they normally do. They have had to find a lot of stuff on their own, and no one's really told them. It is clean, it is in a beautiful area, it is quiet and calm, and I like that they are very happy about that part, too. The aides are about a "two," and the people in charge -- as far as working with you and talking to you -- are about a "four." My sister and mom have only been happy about breakfast and one or two of the evening meals, but that is about it. My sister lives there, too, but the activities are not anything she and my mom are interested in. They do have things for people if they want to participate, so that is good. It is in a residential area, and there is not much traffic at all. It is in like a country setting, and I thought they would be happier with that versus in a busy corner with lots of cars going by.

We have been pleased with Charter Senior Living. We have been here a month and a half, and we find the place to be attractive and immaculate. It goes beyond clean, and it is very well maintained. The staff is excellent. Since we're changing management now, some people have left and apparently some new ones are coming in, so our minor complaint is that we don't have enough help at this time. It is difficult to get things done that we need to have done, but I think that will improve as the change takes place. The food is very well managed. It is excellent quality and very good cooking, and the efforts seemed to be all towards having a healthy menu for us all. As we are on a low calorie diet, we can choose foods that will maintain that diet and we have servings that help us to not overeat. We could get more if we wanted, but generally their servings are perhaps a little smaller than most places, which is not a disadvantage at all. We have a rather unusual arrangement of an apartment. We have two bathrooms and a very tiny kitchenette, which we find totally useless anyway because we don't use it for anything but to make ice. We have a nice beautiful view outside. The place is in a little knoll with a huge variety of trees. So far, it is just very satisfactory. We are a little low on staff but the ones we have are absolutely excellent. They're friendly and capable. They're just really fine. We don't do that many activities outside of our own. I am a musician and I still practice which takes up almost all my spare time, but we have everything we want to do.

We went to Buford. The staff was unbelievable, they were amazing. However, it felt like a nursing home. The rooms were clean, but they were chopped up, broken up, you can only be in a twin bed. They were trying to sell two units to make up for that. It was just that the layout of the room didn't make sense, and was awkward. It was full of people, nice people, but you would not leave your mom in that place and feel good about it. They had activities and they were busy, that part was good. They were very active.

It is a nice place, and we're very happy with it. I can't get in there to see my mother, so I don't know much, but it looks nice. I've been inside it and the rooms are current, updated, and painted with lovely colors. I haven't really been there when they were eating, but I see some pictures on Facebook, and it looks like they're doing fine. I don't see as much in memory care as I do in assisted living. In assisted living they do a lot of stuff. She has more of a studio. Some of the rooms have microwaves and refrigerators, but I think those are mostly on the assisted living side, not on the memory care side. There would be room enough for a small refrigerator, and maybe a countertop that they could put a microwave on, but my mother doesn't have that. They don't have that in the memory care. For the memory care, they did candy cane reindeers one day. I know they have a dog that comes in and the residents get to play with the dog. They also have recently gotten a kitten. In the assisted living side they do a lot more activities because they can take care of themselves, so they're out there playing cards, checkers, and games. They have a library and pavilions outside, and that's where I've been able to see my mom. They bring her out into the pavilion and then I can see her that way. The problem is it's been really cold and my mother gets so cold, and I just feel horrible making her sit out there to see me. Most of the time our meetings are for like about an hour. Sometimes they go a little shorter if my mom's really cold. The last time I was with her she had on a coat and two giant blankets wrapped around her, because it was really cold. It's made it very difficult. They seem to really care about my mother, and she seems happy with them. I talked to the director one day last week. I said, "Do you have any idea how my mom is doing?" And she just right off the bat told me everything that was going on with my mom. Even the director knows what's going on with the residents, so I'm pleased about that. She seems happy with the food once they figured out what she likes. The building has a much older feel to me. On one side there's the assisted living, and I haven't been down there. There's a big, kind of cafe, kind of dining room where they sit and play games and do crafts. There's a library across the hall from that, and then the rooms were just off, but as far as my mom is concerned they have a much smaller kitchen and a much smaller library. There's a sitting room where everybody could just sit out there and read or do whatever they want to do. The rooms are down the hallway, and I think there are only 12 rooms.

It was a nice place. The only thing that kept me from going there was the distance from my house. It had very nice rooms, a very modern building, it was the newest of all the places that I visited, and they had very good activities there. I noticed that in the beginning they were having an activity session in the memory care area, the food was probably the best I saw anywhere, they had a menu that was listed, and all the different choices that they got, even in memory care, it was excellent. The price was very, very good based on the amenities. They were very good, the lady that did that, they were very informative, and that was my number one choice in the beginning.

Toni, the events coordinator, is fantastic! Her energy, kindness and love for the residents is truly amazing. She texts pictures of outings and always gets back to me quickly! There are many techs who also do an amazing job. One in particular is Michelle. She is so kind to my parents and shows them love and attention and I truly appreciate that.

We liked it and would have considered putting my mom there had we not found a private care home with better staff to resident ratio. The room we saw was fine and wasn't as fancy as other the places, but it was adequate for what it needed to be. The person who helped us was very good, answered all our questions, and spent a lot of time with us. The dining room was lovely, and everybody seemed happy talking and chatting while eating.

My mom has a pet and they accepted the pet along with her. I also like the care that she has been getting since she has been there. For different amounts, they do different services. They manage her medication, they help her take a bath, they wash her clothes for her, and they help her get dressed. They have a cafeteria where they give her three meals a day. If she doesn't feel like going down to the cafeteria, they will bring her food to the room and she can eat in her room. Mom loves the food . They play Bingo, board games, and so some knitting sometimes. If Mom could, she would do a whole lot more activities. They even take the residents out on a bus to Walmart, to Dollar Store, and to the movies. They have ministers come in, and they have person that plays the guitar or the piano. The staff has been awesome.

It is a big building with lots of rooms. This facility is clean and beautifully decorated. The Buford First Baptist Church is next door. They send someone up to teach Sunday school classes for those who can’t get out and send a bus for anyone who wants to come down to the church. A lot of church people live there.

I had spoken with the director, and she was very friendly. She went out of her way to make me feel at ease. I liked her a lot. It seemed OK. The person at the front desk was nice enough and was kind and helpful. I think the dining room was clean and neat. The people dining looked happy enough. The rooms and apartments seemed to be comfortable and roomy. They were well laid out and bright. It looked secure.

It is very nice. The room is 13x13ft. She has nice big double window that looks out at the backyard which has a nice covered patio. It has her own bathroom and big double closets. The cost really attracts me. It’s a good price for the service. Unfortunately, she is in memory care so she is limited to the activities that she can do. They take them to a restaurant once a quarter.

I was so amazed at how clean every area of the home. The staff was very friendly and so willing to help and answer all questions I had. The individual room were spacious and spotless. All the community areas were beautiful and very welcoming. The outside grounds were beautiful and welcoming. I was very impressed. I enrolled my husband that day.

I enjoyed my visit they treated me very frienly and with respect. My friend told me they treat her with respect and help her whenever she request for help, they feed her good food and let her enjoy herself. She said her experience there is much better then what she thought it was going to be. She naturally assumed it was going to be a place like they show on tv. but it was the complete opposite. She enjoys herself there, they allow her social time and ime to call family members and time for friends to visit her. I love everything ive seen and heard about this place, i feel great knowing my friend lives here. She seems happy now then she did before she was in there. She has time for herself and they make sure she takes her medication. She doesnt have to worry about trying to remember to take it. They have done an excellent job taking care of my friend, I would recomend this place for anyone who needs assisted living.

I had a great experience because when i got there i had no idea what to expect but after spending time with my friend i realized she was getting excellent care. The staff was very friendly and was rude to my friend. Before going there i thought it was going to be a bad experince because tv shows portray these places in a bad way. My friend was telling me how much she liked having help and how they treat her with respect and care. She said that when she was at her house before coming there she would often forget about taking her medicine but since getting there she hasnt because they make sure to give it to her for her. She said that she hasnt felt this great in 10 years. My honest opinion is that this facility deserves awards because they helped one of my friends feel great and got her spirits up. I have nothing more i can say about this amazing facility and its wonderful staff.

My aunt was here for 2 years and she loved it. She enjoyed the activities they planed for her, and the staff treated her very well. The food was good and she always got her medicine on time. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is skeptical of assisted living.

My mother was in this facility for the last 3 years of her life. They cared for her during intermediate dementia and broken hip surgery and recovery. The food was good and appropriate for residents' abilities. The social calendar activities inside the facility and field trips were regularly scheduled. There was a pretty garden visible to residents who could not manage to go outside due to health limitations. The staff made available to our family a private room to celebrate our mom's birthday with her special favorite foods we brought in.They kept good records as I got copies of it all after mom died.We are tracking any hereditary features for our family's future generations. Oh, the Director was always amenable to our questions.
