I'm in StoryPoint Libertyville. What I like most is the fact that it's in Libertyville, Illinois, where my family has lived since 1917 and I've lived since 1937. I've been here approximately three-and-a-half years now. The management is friendly. The apartment is very satisfactory. The maintenance, as far as heat and air-conditioning, has been satisfactory. The majority of food service is way above average. The breakfasts on a 5 scale are 5. They're excellent every single morning. They provide lunch and dinner. Dinners would be 4.5 on a 5 scale and lunch would be 4 on a 5 scale. My interaction with the staff is always excellent. The best interaction is with the executive director, because she has the most basic knowledge and is less concerned with making a mistake when she gives me an answer, so I prefer to speak with her. I live in a two-bedroom apartment. Generally speaking, they're all fine based on the facility and its mission. If there were any changes I would make, instead of just one exercise room, I'd have two. I'd have a small room for heavier weights and for male residents that don't have any major physical disabilities, where they would have several treadmills, bench presses, dumbbells and things of that nature and maybe a speed bag. The layout is very adequate and the surrounding facade is very restful. It has a lot of trees and it's on a very non-busy highway, so there's no traffic noise. There's a river not too far away, so we have a lot birds and wild things. It's a bucolic environment around. It's very nice. The only other people I deal with are servers in the dining room. I participate in supporting other new residents. I push people in wheelchairs anytime they seem they need it. If they have questions, I always respond to them. I go into a number of them that I know that have physical and health problems. This is almost on a daily basis for me.

My mom lives in StoryPoint Libertyville. She's tried other senior living facilities in the Libertyville area and has moved out after a year or sometimes sooner than that because she's been so unhappy, but she absolutely loves StoryPoint. The employees are sweet and welcoming. Kristen, the director, is amazing. She makes it her point to get around and greet the residents and talk to them and find out if they need any help or if they have any issues. She is absolutely wonderful. She kind of watches out for my mom as she does most of the residents to make sure that they're not feeling bad or that they're showing up to the dining room or whatever. The shelves in her closet and the shower head and everything were too high for her and the director came in right away and my mom told her of her issues and she had everything fixed immediately. She didn't wait days. She did it right then. She called in her maintenance guys and fixed everything so that my mom was happy. The food is wonderful there. They have really nice choices. It's warm when they serve it to you. The people working in the dining area are very sweet and wonderful. Everybody there is really great. I can't say enough for it. I had to stay there two weeks with my mom to help her with things and so I got to know a lot of the people and see what was going on there. They have great entertainment and they also do good trips. They go to the casino and she loves that and she also loves that they play bingo. They do a lot. My mom tells me time and time again how happy she is that she couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Her apartment is different. It has a lot of angles in it and at first she didn't really like it, but now she absolutely loves it. She was able to decorate it so that it looked really nice. It has nice-sized closets, one in the bedroom and one at the front door. The bathroom is nice, the living room is huge and the bedroom is huge. It's a really nice place and I think she has one of the smaller rooms than the other people there, so for it being one of the smaller ones, it's still really nice. They always have three meals to choose from. If you don't like any of that, you can always order a hotdog or a hamburger and it's always hot. I love their food when I was there. They have a courtyard. What is really nice is they have a fireplace in the lobby there. The lobby is large enough that there's an area in front of the fireplace and then there's another area behind the fireplace and they have chairs on both sides of it. The people sit there, talk, gather and watch for people coming in. They have plenty of rooms for entertainment. My mom really likes the fact that you can go sit in the lobby and talk to friends. They're all wonderful. Even the girls at the front desk are so nice when you walk in. They say hi and they always have a smile on their face and try and help with anything. The people in the dining room are wonderful. They come up to my mom and give her a hug and say, "How are you today?" It's always clean, it's always welcoming, and it is really nice, so much better than other places. They have plenty of activities and exercising for everybody. The price is in the same range as everybody else.

I can’t say enough great things about Storypoint Libertyville. From the moment my dad moved in, the staff made him feel truly welcomed and cared for. The transition from his home to independent living was something we were nervous about, but the team went above and beyond to make it seamless. The community is beautifully maintained, the meals are excellent, and there’s always something going on — from interesting activities to outings to happy hours. My dad has made more friends here than she’s had in years, and I can honestly say he’s thriving. What stands out most to me is how genuine the staff are. They know every resident by name, they check in often, and they treat everyone like family. I have complete peace of mind knowing he’s safe, happy, and living life to the fullest. Special thanks to Kristin Paro, whose leadership, attention to detail, and warm engagement with my father have made all the difference to his wellbeing. If you’re looking for a place where your loved one will be valued, active, and truly at home, I can’t recommend Storypoint Libertyville enough.

I went to StoryPoint Libertyville. It was pretty nice, except that I'm an African American man, and there weren't any African American residents there. I didn't feel as comfortable going there as I would if there had been some African American men or women. They were an excellent facility. The staff members were outstanding. I enjoyed talking to the ladies who escorted us around. They had bingo, and that was nice. They had other games like poker.

“Grateful” is a word that my husband and I have used so much more in the last year and eight months .You may wonder why? Well the first thing that comes to mind is StoryPoint . When my husband‘s only sibling passed away we started helping our sister-in-law find a senior living facility. That was a daunting task for us. We spent a month and a half visiting nine different senior living facilities for her. Our concerns were fourfold. We wanted a facility that she would be able to transition from independent to assisted and memory care if necessary and to do that with minimal inconvenience . Secondly in importance was the environment and staff. Thirdly we wanted her to be within proximity to her current doctors and also her Va healthcare. And lastly but very important was the cost consideration . And we found all of this at StoryPoint in Libertyville ,Illinois . From our first visit and impressions until today not only do we find the staff to be very welcoming, caring and supportive and the environment and activities stimulating, but so does our sister-in-law ,Wendy who heartily agrees. So now you could see why we are so “grateful” !!!!! Gerry and Carol V

StoryPoint Libertyville is a wonderful place to live! As a volunteer, I interact with many of the residents and staff. I have found the staff to be caring, accommodating, helpful, and enthusiastic. The residents mention the delicious food that is provided. There are also a wide variety of fun and engaging activities that are offered daily. If/when the need arises, this would be an ideal place for my family members to live!

StoryPoint Libertyville is an excellent senior living facility. I moved my dad into a two bedroom independent living apartment. He absolutely loves the space. He participates in many of the resident activities. He loves the food. He tells me all the time how friendly and helpful the staff is. It’s been a great transition for him and it’s a load off my mind that he is close by and well taken care of when I’m out of town. It’s been a true blessing for us both.

Rooms are like condos and perfect for the living style. Housekeeping keeps everything spotless and respects all the personal items. Privacy is respected and assistance is always available. So many activities and gatherings that decisions on when to nap have to be made. Having a salon for hair and nails is wonderful as residents do not have to leave the building and gives them independence. Caregivers will walk, talk and never rush residents so they feel positive and valued. Doctors come in so a pedicure from your own recliner was amazing for mom. Chef and staff interact constantly and he teaches residents cooking skills they can all do in some form. From making bracelets to painting we treasure all of mom's creations. Many nice gathering places and beautiful nature from every window. I truly find StoryPoint a gift and am forever grateful for the care of my mother and myself. They understand what a daughter goes through watching her mother decline and lose independence.

My loved one lives at Story Point Libertyville. Food is fair. I am not impressed with them. The facility is nice and clean, but my understanding is that they're filling it to capacity. It used to be very moveable, but it seems like it's getting overcrowded. The turnover of the staff is ridiculous. It's crazy. In the one year that she's lived there, they've had four bus drivers who keep quitting, and they had three executive directors. It's too much turnover. The staff members are very nice, but they're just not happy there, so they leave all the time. They have activities. They do bingo, gardening, exercise, and Tai Chi. They have many activities. Overall, I would like to suggest that the onsite care staff could be a little friendlier.

My mother was at StoryPoint Libertyville in the independent living apartment. It was a newly remodeled facility, so it was very clean and well-maintained. It was a nice community. However, they went through three executive directors in the 18 months my mother was there and that concerned me. The staff were okay, but I wouldn't describe them as going in or out of the way to do anything. They have a third-party service that I think pretty much takes the brunt of all the stuff going on in the place and taking care of residents. They have gone through two or three chefs in the time we were there, and I would argue that it has gotten worse with every change. I ate there once with my mother, and it was not good. My mother's apartment was very nice. It was remodeled just before she moved in. It's tall ceilings. She had a unit with a bay window, so it was very well-lit. So the apartment itself was very nice. For activities, they didn't do a lot during what I would call the workdays. They had some evening activities, but not a lot, I think maybe at least once a week. They're more casual events, not necessarily well organized. It was newly remodeled, but even in the 18 months, they were struggling to keep up. They need to work harder at engaging their residents. They didn't do a lot to engage my mother. For example, if she doesn't show up to an activity, nobody goes down and knocks on her door and says, 'You're going to come to join us?' They appointed some resident ambassadors who pretty much didn't do much more than any of that type of stuff either. They just kind of went to the activity, and if you were to come and visit, they might be one to show you around, but they don't do a lot to engage their independent living residents.

I filled out papers for a waitlist at StoryPoint Libertyville. Everyone that I met there was friendly. I liked the look of the apartment. What I didn't like about it is that not all of their kitchens were updated to stainless steel. They still had many that were older white appliances. The staff I dealt with was open and easy to speak with. They sent me a schedule of activities and invited me to come back and have a meal there so I can participate and get a feel of how it is to interact with the other residents there.

The residents at StoryPoint Libertyville appear to be active. I would consider moving my dad there. The staff during the tour was extremely responsive. They had a salon and a fitness center. What I liked about it was a lot of the activities were kind of right out in the open, right when you walk in the facility. You see people engaged at a table and playing cards. That was something that was very visible and easy to witness, very easy to see once you step into the facility. The facade was very good.

I went to StoryPoint Libertyville. The facility was very nice. The staff was amazing and very welcoming. The value for money was about the same as with the other place. In their unit, they had a washer and dryer and a dishwasher, which is huge. They have a nice courtyard and a nice room where they have activities. They had bands there. It's very nice. The staff were very attentive when we came in. It's near hospitals, restaurants, and shopping.

Mom has a lovely room with a great view. She is well taken care of and the staff seems to genuinely care. Even though there are many activities, she chooses not to participate and is very happy in her room. They make sure that she has her meals, medications and take care of her cleaning. She prefers to be at ‘home’ at Story Point because that’s where she is most comfortable. Caretakers and nurses are all concerned and caring.

My mother has been a resident in assisted living at StoryPoint for approximately 8 months and I am extremely pleased with the care she has been receiving. This past Winter much of her time was spent in the hospital or in different rehab facilities. We were able to witness positive and negative issues with these places. She would text me daily when someone was too rough with her or was not pleasant. She has not texted me any negative comments since being at StoryPoint. The management and dining staff have been extremely helpful and flexible offering meals that agree with the doctor’s orders. There is no perfect place for my mother, due to her medical needs and situation but StoryPoint comes extremely close. She is always clean and very happy, I am not greeted with an unpleasant smell when entering and the building is always spotless. There are always residents sitting in public areas talking to each other no matter the time of day. Although this was a tough decision to make, I am confident we made the right decision picking StoryPoint for this chapter in her life. I highly recommend it if you are looking

StoryPoint Libertyville is a very caring community. They make sure each individual is treated with dignity and respect. They have created a caring culture among the residents. They offer a wide variety of activities for people to participate in. This social interaction has been very beneficial for my mom. The rooms have been recently redone and provide a safe and home like feel.

The staff is so kind. The new owners have made so many wonderful upgrades. They had quite a bit to do. All is not finished but h they are working diligently to get it done. One of the best things about Storytime is how hard they do with whatever may come up. Just remember nothing is perfect, it’s hard to find people who try. They have many ! The apartments are all updated and very spacious. They have so many extra activities and amenities. To many to list.

StoryPoint Libertyville was beautiful. It's a really impressive facility, but the memory care section was poor. It was like an afterthought. I didn't like it at all. The facility itself was very attractive and very large; but as far as the memory care section, I was very disappointed. It was like they shut it off in a little area by themselves. The dining area and the little meeting room were dingy, and they were really pushy in trying to promote the place. Though the price was right and they made an offer that would have been very favorable, I just wouldn't want to go there. The staff was good, but they're still wearing masks too. You got to sign in on a computer. The people behind the desk were still wearing masks, and this was after everybody else had eliminated the masks.

I'm in StoryPoint Libertyville and I think it's a beautiful facility. They have a lot of activities, and now that we're coming out of the COVID, you can do more things. The food is fantastic, it's just delicious. I have a studio, it's nice and roomy, and it's big. I have a refrigerator, a kitchenette, two closets, and a lot of furniture in here, and I have a dog. They have a happy hour, there's a choir, and they go on scenic drives on Sunday, they have trips to the stores around here since there are a lot of those in the area. They have al kinds of table games and card games, there's a beautiful billiards room, and they're also redoing it, there's bingo, a walking club, rummy, there's pizza parties, and a lot of things. They're not doing it right now because of COVID, but they do painting projects and things like that. There's a stitching class, there's all kinds of things including exercise classes, they share travelling tips, and videos, and they show movies that you can watch in the room or in the day room where they show the movie. The facility is beautiful; everybody that visits here would say that this is a beautiful place. The value for the money is fantastic.

The staff of StoryPoint is its outstanding feature. They are genuinely caring and compassionate -- and upbeat and friendly. The activity staff is especially strong, encouraging and assisting Memory Care residents to take part in daily activities ranging from exercise, movie gatherings and even "Happy Hour". Residents are stimulated and enjoy companionship on whatever level they can. StoryPoint offers residents and families peace of mind at thie very difficult stage of life.

The location was very nice. I would be going there if it were a little closer to my house. Everything was very clean and neat. It smelled good. The person who I met was extremely helpful in the process and the different levels of care. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were very nice compared to other locations. I found the room to be very clean and updated. I saw a list of activities going on. I thought the common areas were very nice.

It was my second choice. The salesperson that I talked to was very good. We had lunch there, it was very open, and I liked the plan of the rooms as well. It was a nice situation, and it was nicely laid out. It has all of the various stores all the way around, and you could go to any store that you want to go to since they are close by.

It would have been our second choice. We tried one meal that was very good. We saw a spacious one-bedroom room. The grounds were very pretty and had lots of trees. It had independent living all the way to memory care and different activities and outings. It seemed like their activities would have been good. This place was clean. The staff all seemed very friendly. However, my dad was turned off because the person who was presenting it said they served alcohol weekly. My dad is not that much of a drinker, so the way that she was talking about it turned him off. The other people we met were friendly.

It was very friendly, very comfortable, and had great storage space. They were very helpful and good at answering questions and taking us around.
