"My mother is already at Addolorata Villa, and the facility is wonderful. The memory lane is only 10 years old, and there are only 32 patients in the memory lane. Overall, the place is beautiful. They have dining room and a garden room where they can go and sit. They also have a living room with a fireplace in it. They also have an activity room and a little tiny room that is like a library. They do have different activities, like, they have exercises, and they do craft things. They take them out every Tuesday and Thursday. There's always something to do. It took a while for her to adjust, but she is adjusting. Her room is very spacious. She can put a queen-size bed. She has her own bathroom, and it is quite nice. "

"I toured the Grand Victorian of Crystal Lake, and I liked everything. They had a lot of amenities and nice sitting areas, and the rooms were very nice and big. It was just a lovely place. They have a little refrigerator and microwave. The staff was very informative, and they offered us lunch. The food was very good and had lots of variety. They had a special for the day and a la carte, and you can combine the two. The facility was gorgeous. It was modern and up-to-date, and they had a large walkway. They had puzzles all around, and they had libraries. It was amazing."

"I am a current resident and I think I found the best independent living in this area. I utilize some of the assisted living services offered onsite. I enjoy the calendar of activities, lots of caring staff and great food. I am very happy here. I love spending time with new friends. Great place to live! "

"I toured it and that was lovely. It seemed very active, too. A lot of things were going on when I was there. However, religiously my mom is very Catholic, and there's a majority of Jewish people there, so it just didn't seem like it was going to be a good fit permanently. The place itself was lovely, and the people and the residents seemed like they were happy and all that, so that was good. The apartment was nice too."

"Belmont Village is a place that we might have chosen if there wasn't an alternative close by. It doesn't really have continuing care in the same sense, but it does have a memory unit which I don't really want. Belmont has organized rooms and pods of ten to fifteen people with a common living room which makes it easy to meet people. It is something that can really benefit people that are not very outgoing. It's got a big gathering place which is just inside the door and a dining facility right next to it. It seems to be very pleasant. The sales woman seems to know residents by name in spite of the fact that there were a lot of them. A lot of them spoke to her as they passed by. I was impressed by that. The food was very good. Because we wanted a continuing care community, it was particularly appealing to us, but it did seem like a cadillac place for this. It is intended to be a different kind of place. "

"The rooms provide ample size, offer a number of electrical outlets and they are wired for Cable TV service. Generous portions of food are offered at each meal and provide a healthy and balanced diet. My interactions with staff members have been positive, as they have delivered helpful and great service."

"My father is here. It's a complete facility with independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing. He has been wonderful there. They have three good meals a day, and the room is sufficient for what he needs. They have a men's club, exercise, mass every day at a chapel for Catholic masses, an ice cream parlor that's open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, movies in the evenings and discussions, and a free bus from Niles that comes and takes people to shopping areas in the neighborhood, plus another bus that will help you go to your doctor if you need to. He's been in therapy for balance three times a week."

"My grandfather was a resident at this facility for a short period of time before my grandmother took him to Jamaica to be cared for at her home there. 4 months to be exact. I visited him frequently enough to see that the people that cared for him during his stay genuinely loved their jobs and cared about the residents they came incounter with daily. He had a massive stroke and lost total use of the right side of his body and the side effects of the stroke was violent mood swings, speech impairment and some crippling making him a very difficult person to deal with but thankfully the caregivers that were assigned to my grandfather were in the nursing field for some time so they were very experienced and very patient when caring for him as well as some other difficult residents I have encountered there. A very loving environment. "

"The Woodlands at Canterfield was beautiful. The apartments were fine, clean, nice, and brand new. We met with several people and they were all very nice and professional. They had a bunch of games going. It's brand new so there were not that many people there yet. We saw people in the lunchroom and it looked very nice. The dining area was beautiful. I didn't eat there. My brother and my mom ate there and they said the food was excellent. We met with several different people and overall everybody was great, but some were better than others."

"My father is in assisted living at Oak Crest and Atrium Apartments. It was more like a community than a jail. It has things to do and people interact. They make sure that they socialize with other people. The food looks good and they have a lot of different activities. My dad is busy all day, which is the best thing for him. The staff is very friendly and kind. They're more like caregivers."

"I visited Gurnee Meadows. They have a lot of things to do. I like it a lot. They were very clean, and people were my age. Every day they had something going on. They had a library, pool tables, and even a beauty shop. They also had a bus that comes every Wednesday on every hour to take them anywhere you want to go on Gurnee. You cook your own meals there. The staff was very nice and very accommodating. For anything you need, you just come and see them. I only met one staff member there, and I like her very much."
