We chose Arbor Terrace at Citrus Park - AL for Mom because it is close to my house. Also the price was good, the facility was nice, it has all the things that you're looking for, and they have memory care for her. They checked off all the boxes. They're better for people who are somewhat able to dress themselves and make some decisions for themselves. They're not 100% like a nursing home. They are assisted living, and they have good activities for the seniors and things to keep their minds active. They have some exercise programs, chair yoga, puzzles, and games where they have to participate physically and mentally. They have a nice, large dining area, and they have a big TV where they can all watch together if they want to. They've got a room for resting to the right of the cafeteria if they get tired, because they try to keep them out of their rooms most of the day and keep them engaged and part of the community. Instead of going all the way back to their room, they have the recliners there, and it's quiet. There are a lot of tables. The chairs are easy to move because they have wheels on the front and the back ones don't have wheels. They can slide forward and backward easily but they still have stability. They serve the people at the tables, and a lot of them have secondary caregivers that they pay for privately to help with feeding and all. They try to keep them physically active so that whatever they're able to do, they can continue to be able to and possibly improve upon it. They have individual directors for each section of the facility. They have a director for the memory care. They have an individual activities director, so they focus on keeping the patients engaged and active. They have med techs who make sure that they get their daily medications when they're supposed to take them. The cafeteria has a patio off to the side, and there are big double French doors to go out to the patio. There are also chairs, trees, and fresh air, so they get in and out of the building. There are several areas where they can sit outside. The memory care is enclosed so that they can't get out. They have good security. Everybody has to sign in and sign out, and it's electronic, not a book, so you can't see who's signed in. It gives the patients a little more privacy. Private caregivers that come in have a sign-in place for them on the same electronic pad, and everybody gets to wear a temporary badge. When my mother went in there, she was wheelchair-bound, and she's getting better, where she's back using a rolling walker most of the time and a wheelchair only when she's really tired. They wheel her down to eat, too. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable. They had a Christmas party where the families were invited, and Thanksgiving. It always smells great, and they get plenty of food. The food is better than hospital food. It's not gourmet, but it is decent and nutritious, and there's plenty of it. The place is immaculate. The rooms are a good size. They're not too small to where they feel claustrophobic, and they're not too big. They have different-sized rooms for different needs. They have rooms where, like a husband and wife could share a room, and they have single occupancy and double occupancy. They have individual bedrooms. It's kind of group care rather than individual care. The biggest problem is that I'm having to have supplemental help there for her, and that's increasing my cost.

I chose Arbor Terrace at Citrus Park - AL for my husband, and he moved in last month. He's in the Bridges program which is a transition between assisted living and memory care. You walk into a nice lobby with a receptionist, chairs, and waiting space. It's light, with a pleasant odor, and very clean. The staff is very caring and very professional. They cover the patient's needs. There are lots of activities planned, and patients can do what they want. They have bingo, they have some outings, and exercise classes (both seating and standing). They show what they call travel videos where they take you to a place and show you all about it. And then they have other memory-type games to help patients and also allow them to go down memory lane. The food is good.

Visiting Arbor Terrace Citrus Park was a good experience. The salesperson was really knowledgeable, helpful, and knew the community very well. It's a new facility, about four years old, so it looks new and well-maintained. Their light fixtures are current. Nothing's outdated. The facility itself was well-appointed. The dining room, the public living room, the bar, and the gathering room were very nicely done. The apartments were also nice and up-to-date. They have everything that you could need. I saw people playing cards, somebody enjoying the bar, and somebody setting up to play the guitar and have live music. We saw a couple of women just kind of socializing in the common areas indoors and outdoors as well. So, that was nice to see. The staff seemed caring and interested. They have patios, gardens, and a swimming pool. They don't have a large gathering area though, which was one shortfall, because my mom foresees having a larger group come to visit her now and then. So they don't have any gathering spaces for a larger group.

My mom is in Arbor Terrace Citrus Park. It's like everyplace else, there are good things that we like about it and there are other things that we're not so happy about. All in all, she's pleased. I'm sure she wished some things were better, but all in all, she's happy. It's a very nice facility and the cleanliness is very nice. Her room is quaint, but it's nice. And the staff members are very helpful, for the most part. She said that the food could be better. They have a lot of activities, unfortunately, she hasn't done much but they encourage her to take part in the activities though she doesn't. That's just her disposition. I think it's a little expensive.

On our visit we were very impressed with the spacious, clean, beautiful facility. We did not have a chance to dine there but the food looked very good. There was a lot of interaction with staff and residents.. The staff were all so friendly and the sales staff were very helpful answering our questions. I'm sure when the time comes for us to give up our large home we would definitely choose Arbor Terrace as our home.

Arbor Terrace at Citrus Park was a five-star place. It was wonderful. The chef even came in and met me and gave me a hot apple pie. The food's incredible there and their menus too. The nursing staff was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful. They had a garden area with a gazebo and a little walking path. Everything was really nice. It was definitely a first rate community. All the staff I met was great. They had everything there. I saw the studios and the one-bedrooms, and they were both very nice, clean, and looked new. I think they're doing some more remodeling in the memory care area, too, or the area where they keep most of the people that have more trouble with their memory. It's gorgeous, and the rooms were pretty. The security was great there. You couldn't get in without someone buzzing in or out. It was very good. They had an activity room, a library, a book room, a music area, arts and crafts, and games, an area where they do movies, and a big living room area that they have parties in twice a month where people dress up and dance, and they have live music. They had a courtyard with a gazebo and a little path, and it was very pretty, and they've got walls of bushes around. It was very nice.

I visited about four different communities and I liked Arbor Terrace at Citrus Park the best. Meals are included and they are very good. They have varied activities for the residents every day like game boards and discussions. The food is excellent and the staff is excellent. My apartment is very roomy. I have no complaints. It's quite expensive though.

Arbor Terrace at Citrus Park is beautiful. The staff is very helpful, and the maintenance is spot on. If you ask them any questions, they get right on it, and they get back to us. We're very happy with our choice. My parents seem to be very happy with the food, but my father would've liked sugar-free desserts. My mother is having a lot of fun with the ladies. She's playing cards and mah-jong, and this week, they took the bus to the Wal-Mart.

After several site visits to facilities in Northeast Pinellas (Clearwater/Safety Harbor/Palm Harbor) and in Northwest Hillsborough, I selected the Evergreen (Alzheimer's) Unit at Arbor Terrace Citrus Park for my father. He has been in their great care for 5 months now, and our entire family is very pleased with all they do for him. I visit at many different times and find every team member of every shift to be compassionate and loving for all of their residents. Dad is treated with dignity and respect. The service attitude is modeled throughout the entire complex. The facilities and grounds are beautiful and well kept. I only have one negative -- cell service is spotty indoors, but that gives me more reason to take Dad outdoors to explore the gardens (and beyond).

Arbor Terrace of Citrus Park was a very new facility. You feel like you’re in a five-star hotel when you walk in. It is absolutely beautiful, and everything is updated with the latest décor. I did not see a menu, but I went in the dining area of the regular assisted living facility, and I thought that I was on a cruise ship. It was just absolutely beautiful. The rooms were very nice. I visited the dementia section, and they have an area in the back where the patients can go outside that's all fenced in and locked so no one can wander off. They also have their own dining area, which was small but very nice. It was really very impressive, and they were very nice and very accommodating.

My mom is in Arbor Trace at Citrus Park. It is a very nice, upscale place. It looks more like a hotel than an old folks' home. The food is good. The help is wonderful and well-staffed with a good ratio of caregivers to patients. They have three different levels of care, including memory care and assisted living; Mom goes to memory care. Everything is very clean and nice. The rooms are large; my mom's room is 386 square feet. They do have activities, but I would like it if they had more, different activities. For memory care, they have art, cards, bingo, movie nights, walking, feeding the birds, and gardening. They have a lot of things. They have a very positive atmosphere. The residents seem very happy. I will recommend them.
