I am so happy that my stepmother is in DeSoto Towers. There is 24/7 front desk. Maintenance is available, One thing I am very impressed with, the storms that have come across Florida that they were very consistent with safety of their people in the building. I Feel very comfortable with her there.

I lived in Desoto Towers. I would give it a low rating because of the way the manager threatens the residents. The employees worked for the manager, and the manager encouraged them to threaten the residents. They do not have any food. But it was a great building. There's a beautiful gazebo sitting on the water. They do not have activities. It's a terrific value for the money though. It was $500 a month, all utilities included, for a studio apartment.

Nice apt with 62+ residents. Independent living. Library/puzzle social area, large rec room for social events. My fam loves it at DeSoto.

BED BUGS ARE IN THIS BUILDING AND THE MANAGEMENT IS SPRAYING WITH AN INEFFECTIVE INSECTICIDE. SHE NEEDS TO CALL THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR ASSISTANCE.

This building is filled with BED BUGS! They accuse the tenants of bringing them. However, my parents lived there for a few years and complained several times to the management. They would spray once and say ok you're good. The tenantsWHOLE BUILDING NEEDS FUMIGATED. The only true way to get rid of them.

DeSoto Towers was a huge building and had just renovated when I visited, and it looked pretty nice. The apartments were cute but I did not understand why they only had one bedrooms. They only had one bedroom or studio, which were small. I did not think they fed you because you cooked your own meal, since it was independent living. I talked to the manager during the tour and she was very kind. I would suggest to have larger rooms with at least a full bathroom.
