"I toured Arcadia of Denton for my wife, and it seemed to be very positive. The staff seemed to be very positive, friendly, and open. They did not play games; they were straightforward. The place looked very clean and welcoming. The girl who took us around was very good."

"We've chosen State Street for my mother. It's very nice and it's a good value for the money. They're very caring and upbeat. They offer a lot of activities and they transport them to stores and doctors' appointments at no extra charge. They also bring in entertainment. The room was very nice and clean. They're making some changes for us to accommodate my mom. The bathroom is huge and it's perfect. It has a seated shower, which is exactly what she needs. Everyone is just super nice and friendly. Once a week they change the sheets, wash her towels, and clean the bathroom. They're very attentive. The menu looks awesome and they were a fantastic choice. Every meal either comes with a salad or homemade soup. There's even a beauty salon and laundry facilities for free. There's a common area on every floor and a movie theater. If they could do one area on each floor and give it a TV, that would be cool."

"My mother is in Silver Lake Center for long-term care. The staff seems very knowledgeable and very personable. It's an older building, and I think she said it was about 30 years old. It looked OK for a building being that age. I wish she had a bigger room, but she doesn't from what I could see from the windows, because we're not allowed to go in the bedroom. I went there Mother's Day and they allowed us to come in. They gave us a certain time to be there. Her room is like a hospital setup, and it reminded me of a dorm room. There's a person in there with her. My mother is not happy about being there. She wants to be home. She's 95 years old and she's used to being on her own, and that's confining to her. I could tell when we were there that they're being very patient with her. What they're trying to do is let her get used to the place, and them get used to her, so they can both be on the same level, and I appreciate that. We went into the function room, but it was set up like a little dining area. It can sit about 15 people, but they only allow one family in there at a time. They will bring the patients to you. They will wheel them out in a wheelchair or whatever they need to do because the rooms are really too small for everybody to be there, and with COVID, they still want you to be there at six feet apart. We should make the appointment 48 hours ahead of time so that they can get the patient ready, the nurse, and whoever gets the patient ready for you, especially like my mom, if they have to have assistants, which is fair. It looks pretty good for an older building. The landscaping and things are good. I can't say anything negative about it. I think the most negative part is my mother, and they have nothing to do with that. It's covered under her Medicare. Right now, she's paying $189 out-of-pocket to match Medicare. For the service that they're giving, in all fairness, that's a fair price because she's getting meals and service."

"My mother is in Westminster Village at Dover which is a continued care facility. We were very pleased with it and we recommended it to my mother-in-law. It seems like a really good choice other than a nursing home. It seems like a place that would take care of her and she's comfortable there. My oldest sister is the one they communicate with, and she gets updates on a weekly basis by phone. My mom loves it. They haven't opened up activities because of COVID, so she's only met about 5 of her neighbors. She's very excited about the activities, but she hasn't participated in them yet and she just got her second vaccination. It's very clean. My mom had an issue with her heater when she first moved in and maintenance came and fixed it right away. They have a gym, they've got a dining room but I think they give classes too but they're not open right now. She has meals delivered to her door 3 times a day. My mom is real picky about her food and she is really pleased with all the dinners that she's been given. We've had lunch with her twice now; they're really delicious and healthy."

"i like the place. It has a bit of a family feel to it. The food is not good enough or plentiful enough, and there are not enough activities (the patients can get really bored), but I think that is typical of the average nursing home in the US. I like the nurses and the aides. They are doing the best they can. "

"I visited Homestead Manor. The grounds were taken care of. It was hard to see everything because of Covid. I feel that they could have given us more information, as far as costs and resources they could use to help with the cost. The staff was very friendly and gave a great tour. I liked the fact that they had choices of private rooms. They were very nicely designed with plenty of storage and clean. I liked that about it. They had a dining area with linens, glasses, nice tableware, and all that stuff. They have bingo, movie nights, music, and crafts. They go on shopping trips."

"This facility had a very warm atmosphere. The staff seemed to generally care about the residents and they were very helpful to everyone who visited. I talked to other members other than my immediate relative when I visited and they were quite happy with their position; they definitely enjoyed where they were. The rooms were spacious, providing plenty of room for the residents to keep favorite belongings from their homes. All in all the place left a great impression on me after my visit. I would highly recommend it to any one who is considering assisted living for a loved one. "

"I gave several holiday performances at this facility with a school group, and visited it with friends who had grandparents living there. The facility was larger than it seemed from the outside. I liked its location; it is recessed in a small corner of town in such a way that you feel isolated yet secure. This definitely seemed to help the staff keep an eye on those residents who took to wandering about outside the facility. The facility itself seemed to be more than adequate, with relatively large single rooms and a large common area. However, I was always a little puzzled by the seemingly small amount of staff present, and how easily one could enter the facility after visiting hours (the door was never locked and I never saw staff members monitoring it). It felt like such a large place would require a large staff on hand, but I never saw more than a half dozen or so employees at one time. Perhaps they were all just busy caring for the residents. Residents were kept very comfortably, and my friend's grandmother was allowed to have numerous paintings hung around the room, along with other items from home scattered about. The food was not bad either. The entire facility was well furnished, though the furniture was nothing fancy. Some areas seemed to be in need of tidying, but overall it was fairly clean and very professional. "
