I did a tour of Crest View. It's a really nice place, but the drawback there was in every room they had a bathtub that the person had to slide on a seat to take a shower. I was worried about my dad with that. Everybody was great. The people were wonderful there. It has nice rooms, but the bathtub thing was a problem. One thing that I really liked about it is when they personally check on the residents in the morning, when they get them dressed. There's more personal care, and I liked that rather than assuming that they'll push a button if they have a problem, because my dad won't do that. I liked that they came and helped them get dressed, and that they escorted them to the meals, and they checked them when they went to bed. I liked that a lot, it was very personalized. The facility was nice. It's on top of the hill, so there's some ramps and that might be a little hard. But because they escorted them and helped them in wheelchairs, it would be fine. Everything was clean and seemed very nice. The staff were excellent.

My father has only been at Crest View for a short time, it's been 3 days now since he moved in, but they've been fabulous. It's a small 35-resident assisted living facility. They're very open, very safe, and there are incredible views but it's also secure. People with memory issues aren't going to go out and wander off. The staff is fabulous, very kind and friendly, and welcoming to visitors and friends. The menu looks fabulous too. The rooms are a little on the small side, but they're comfortable. They call them apartments so they're 1-bedroom apartments with a bathroom. You don't need a lot and they're fabulous but somebody who's got mobility issues may have a bit of an issue with it. My dad does not need a lot of amenities or activities but one of the things they have is a loudspeaker in every room and they are always inviting the residents over for bingo or church or religious services and activities. They have somebody coming out and doing exercise too. They do 3 meals a day and the menu rotates every 6 weeks. There's enough variety if somebody is a picky eater, they'll find something for you.

My mother has been in Crest View for two months now. It's been great. It has even floors to go out, so she can easily get outside. She has a great view,, and she has sunshine. The staff seems caring and on task. The building is appropriate for the era or age of the tenants, so it's not particularly modern; I think the people there like it. They have crafts, bingo and music.

We have my mother-in-law at Crest View right now. She has settled in and seems to like it. The food is excellent. She raves about the food and says that they feed her very well. She is in a single room, which is not too small, with a private bath. They have a housekeeper who vacuums and changes the sheets on the bed whenever she needs it. Everything is done for her. They bathe her twice a week, minimum. Their location is beautiful on top of the mountains, which has a view over the whole city of Escondido. The price is reasonable; it is not the most expensive or the cheapest. The people are very friendly. It is very nice.
