My mom actually ended up in a board and care facility, Golden Cascade. It was excellent. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. They treated my mom like she was family. They took really, really good care of her. Food was excellent. They had five other residents there and they made sure that what they fixed caters to everybody’s needs and their taste. So it is not like everybody is served the same thing. My mom couldn’t feed herself at the very end, so they went from regular food to pureed food. They adjusted everything to her ability and her taste. They’re concerned about everybody. Everyone there was really happy. The facility was constantly clean. It was always well taken care of. I was in and out of there several times a day everyday and it was always clean and it always smelled like a home. It didn’t smell like urine or bad smell or bad food. It always smelled like you’re walking into a friend’s home. They were constantly cleaning in addition to taking care of the residents there. It was always spotless.
