Assisted Living Communities in Murrells Inlet, SC

"Anderson Oaks Assisted Living is very nice, clean, and friendly staff. I actually just talked to the person in charge. I didn't go into a room because it wasn't going to be a good fit for my dad, but the person in charge was very nice and kind of directed me on where to go with my dad from there. So it was very helpful. They have a library and a TV room. I saw the dining area, it's nice."

"My tour at Portside at Grande Dunes was great. I love the property and I love the apartments, but I don't love the price. They're very pricy. In comparison to the other places, this was the best. The floor plans that they offer were great. I'm looking for a two-bedroom, which they can accommodate. The balcony is great because I really want some kind of outsource that I can go to when I need to go outside. One of the biggest sellers is the kitchen. There's so much storage. There was the saltwater pool that you can access from the beach. I have a dog that I will be bringing with me, and they have a lot of trails. I was totally impressed with Portside. They have classes and things, and I love all of it."

"I toured Spring Oak Conway. I like the location. The location is convenient, and the price is competitive. The least that I like is, it's located close to a busy highway. The director is fantastic. The building is old, but it's clean. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere."

"Garden Manor had small apartments. There was a library and a small place in the back where you could plant flowers. They served one nice big meal a day. If you wanted something for later in the evening, you could get a box of food to take with you. They would come and clean once a week. They went on trips for shopping in a van. It was just what I needed. The people were very nice, very friendly, and outgoing. "

"I visited Hope Arbor of Murrells Inlet. The location is good and the place is clean. The grounds are really nice and they have transportation for the residents. The staff was very polite and professional. The only problem is that highway 707 is undergoing a two-year planned road widening project. The noise and traffic will be awful."

"The Palmettos of Garden City is wonderful. It's brand new, very clean, open, and airy. They have a lot of common areas to sit and socialize. Their staff is wonderful, I met their medical and nursing directors and activities director and they're all very caring and enthusiastic. It's conveniently located and the grounds are very nice, it's tucked away in a lot of trees. My father's room is a studio, it's a little smaller and pricier than some of the other places, but it's manageable. It has a large bathroom, with cable, Wi-Fi, and a telephone provided for free. All utilities are covered. In addition to three meals, they have unlimited snacks throughout the day. There's also a little bistro area where you can socialize and they have a happy hour every day."

"We're on a waiting list at St. Gabriel of Murrells Inlet. I visited both assisted living and memory care. The thing that I liked about it is that they're gonna let my mother stay in assisted living for the day, but at nighttime, she'll sleep with the memory care and that's what I liked. Everybody was very friendly and they seemed to be attentive to the residents. It was very nice and clean. They had quite a lot of things that she was interested in. It's only 10 miles away from me, and it would be near restaurants and not too far from a hospital."

"Lakes of Litchfield was a very nice community. It was not huge. Everything was very nicely maintained. We were looking at independent living at this point, but the facility had assisted living and skilled nursing. That was one other reason why we looked at it. The model apartments that we saw were very lovely. They were nicely decorated, very freshly painted and very nice. It certainly made a very good impression. We had lunch with the sales man and the young lady from the sales department. They had a very nice dining room. It was bright. The staff was very attentive. The food was very good. "

"My father was here and the staff and the service were a life saver to my mom who had been the caregiver for years. Although you are always reluctant to turn a loved one over to the care of another person or facility, it is sometimes necessary and after visiting other places, we immediately knew this was the only place we wanted our loved one to be. This facility is managed by a group of wonderful Christian people and my mother also knew them from church and the community which helped to make us even more secure with our decision. They were very personable and took great care of my father's daily needs. They are very concerned with the well being of all the patients and the facility is extremely clean;upon entrance, it is very homey feeling and decorated like a home so you will be proud of when people visit your loved one. I can't say enough positive things about the service they provided in a time most needed. My mother was at the facility almost daily and grew to know the staff and other members like family; there was no other place in Myrtle Beach, Conway, or locally we would have ever considered to care for my father so although it's never an easy decision, you can rest at night knowing your loved ones are here and well taken care of! "

"The food is fabulous!! And love the fact that families can join residents for dining anytime that they want. "

"My mom has been in Magnolias of Myrtle Beach for three months now. It was recommended to us by her physician. We shopped all around in the area and kind of decided on another one, but when we went to her doctor to get the TB test that was necessary before you go in a facility, her doctor said, "Don't decide on anything until you go see this one (Magnolias of Myrtle Beach)." So we went and had lunch there and talked to the director, it was so good that my mom wanted to move in the next day. We love the staff, the administrator, and everybody there. It is really great! We also love the location, the facilities, etc. We just love everything about it. It is just that good. I would recommend it to others, in fact, I already had. I'm really pleased with this facility. "

"I'm very very impressed from the time my 97 year old mother went to "Brightwater for Rehab from there Long Term and now in Assisted Living. Everyone is so positive, friendly, cooperative and considerate of my Mother as well as me when I come to visit. My answers to questions have been answered completely. "My mother is currently staying at Compass Post Acute Rehabilitation. They're in lockdown, and I can only do window visits with her. They had a person test positive, so they're on lock down for fourteen days. She has aphasia and she's hard of hearing, so that's kind of hard. She has a roommate; they just moved her down closer to the nursing station. I guess she's OK there. I can't really say too much about the facility. It seems to be maintained, and her room seems kept up. I called down there to check on her. I'm taking her clothes. She has a prosthetic, and she's had a mastectomy. I've told them twice to make sure that she's wearing it when they dress her. I noticed when I went down to visit last week, they didn't have it on her; I don't know if they're doing it now. It's hard to say. She's receiving physical therapy, and she has aphasia. When I ask her how's that going, she doesn't say too much, so it's hard to say. When I took her stuff out there, they wouldn't let me take it back to her because they said they were all locked down, and it was just frustrating."

"I had a tour at Myrtle Beach, and I like it. It was clean. They have suites instead of just a one room setup, and I like that very much. The only thing that I did not like was I did not get a warm and fuzzy feeling during the whole tour. "
