"Spring Hills has exceptional activities staff. Speaking as a family member of a resident in the memory care section, known as Spring Cottage, I can say that the activities staff are incredible. They provide physical activity such as chair yoga and group exercise, as well as involve the Spring Cottage residents in events, BBQs, and other activities held in the community. They are really incredible at keeping them engaged! Well done."

"I toured Brighton Gardens of Florham Park. The people are very friendly. They have experienced staff on hand who take care of the people there. It was very clean and modern. It was exceptional in many ways. I wish my home were as good as Brighton Gardens. The staff was very accommodating, very friendly, and knowledgeable. The size of the rooms was good for a single person. It's enough to make you feel at home. The dining area was nice. It was restaurant-style."

"I had the opportunity to visit Delaney at the Green during their Grand Opening celebration. The warmth welcome of the management teams and staffs made the guest feels at home. I'm was so impressed with independent living units/apartment. Each unit offers unique layout with state of the art amenities. The units are perfect for seniors who demand perfection. The lobby is so welcoming and truly represent a high end senior's living. facility. "

"Brookdale Florham Park is clean and fresh. The people are very nice. It is reasonably priced. The staff is wonderful. They are friendly and kind. They have activities like card games, mahjong, and parties. They keep the residents busy. "

"Sunrise of Madison was very pleasant, and the residents were highly cognitive. When I walked in, it was pretty nice. The residents were pleasantly having lunch, and it looked like the menu had many selections. You can help yourself with coffee, and there was a welcome sign out with my name on it. They tried hard to really make a good impression, and they definitely succeeded. "

"My father-in-law moved in. For us, it's convenient location wise. The apartment is a good space with a walk-in shower, so you don't have to step over, which is positive, and they have food service. I like it's convenient location and that they have food service. My father-in-law seems OK with it. The physical surroundings are nice. Right now, people aren't coming out of their apartment."

"I was impressed with Atria, it was immaculate, and the tour was thorough and very informative. It’s more assisted living than independent living, and the rooms were small; they were just studio. My father was looking for something like a kitchenette where he can do his own little thing and a living space. It was not what we were looking for. However, everybody was happy, and the residents were very involved. "

"Sycamore Living is brand new. It just opened in the spring. It's on the small side, but I don't know how many residents they have, I think it's under 50. It's modern and clean. My mother's been there for 2-1/2 weeks now. The staff is very informative, and they've been calling and keeping us posted on how my mother's doing, so the communication is very good. I guess the food is fine; I haven't heard any complaints. I like it. It's very open. My mother's in a private room, but I would know better if I was able to visit her and I was walking in the hallway. I only had a tour of the facility, so it's hard to say. It just looked very nice. It was an office building that was reconfigured to make it into a nursing home or whatever you call these facilities. They have assisted living, long-term care, and rehab. It's a large building, and it's brand new."

"Brookdale West Orange is a caring place. It’s small enough and it’s good. I just got to call them about some medical needs. The dining area has a very homey feel. The rooms are perfect but it’s very expensive. "

"When my grandmother suffered a stroke a few years ago it became apparent that she could no longer live independently. She was no longer able to take care of herself which is why eventually decided to move her to an assisted living facility. Even though she was becoming less aware of what was going around her similar to someone with dementia or Alzheimer's, she did not want to leave her home. We toured a couple of different facilities in NJ and ultimately settled on Carteret Assisted Living. The facility was clean and felt like home rather than a hospital which a few of the facilities that we visited reminded me of. My grandmother needed assistance with most of her daily functions bathing, getting dressed, eating, etc. As her condition got worse she often times wouldn't remember that she had eaten and would constantly ask for food. The staff was very patient her and friendly with myself and my family as we visited her several times a week. My grandmother's room was fairly small but the facility had a larger living room type area where most of the residents spent their time and watched tv. They also had some games and activities like crafts available during the day for the residents to participate in. All in all our experience with the facility and the staff was a positive one and it is a place I would recommend to anyone who is looking into assisted living for a loved one. "

"Brighton Gardens of West Orange was very, very nice. I liked the layout, it was clean, and the people were friendly. I was taken away by the fact that the grounds were clean and immaculate, the place was immaculate, the food looked good. I mean, it was laid out very nicely, like somebody's hotel home. Once they showed me the rooms and everything else. Except for the fact that right now I can't afford this kind of money per month for my parents, I would definitely consider it. In fact, I've been an advocate of the people that are looking for places. I say, "Oh, go check them out," because I said, you're going to love the place when you get there. I talked to a couple of the residents that were outside, and some of the families going in and out, and they had no complaints at all. It was a nice little country setting, and it was very well set up. The staff was fantastic. She showed us everything, broke everything down, and not a single complaint. I had a couple of questions, I emailed that, she emailed back, called me. The rooms were first class, really no complaints at all, and that there was no musty smell. They look to me like going into a brand-new home."

"I moved my mother to their assisted living. I am impressed with the care that they give and the amount of staff. It is a nice and pretty environment. They staff has a positive, friendly attitude. She has a single room that is a lot larger than any of the other places that I visited. They have a good of selection of quality food, and the dining room is attractive. They have religious services, holiday parties, bingo, exercise activities, current events, classes, meetings, and arts & crafts. They can improve on reminding people of the activities. They have a calendar, but people have a hard time following it. Aside from that, I think it is as good as it is going to be for her. "

"I liked the tour I had at The Willows Home. It was good. I like the staff who gave the tour, and they called me after that. They seemed to be nice people. I like the price, too, and I think the staff was courteous. It's a house that they transformed into assisted living because the house has about 12 rooms. The house is very old, but it's clean. The layout is good."

"Mother has been here for three weeks now, and everything is going well. I have a friend whose mother is there, so she recommended it. I went there to visit, and we loved it, so I went back right away to put a deposit on them and got her in there as quickly as possible. The staff is very helpful and very professional. The whole place is beautiful. I couldn't have asked for a better place. It feels like home, the people are nice, and it's clean. She gets meals, and the food is fine. They have a lot of stuff going on all day long, and it's really up to the individual to participate or not, i.e., movies everyday, video games, and bingo. I would definitely recommend them. Everything is perfect about it."
