They were recommended to us by some friends who told us that they had a good experience with Home Care Services. Greg did a very good job in presenting the potential people that we could use. The interviews with them are very helpful and having them come to our house is very good. After having the interview, it was interesting that all 4 of us picked the same person.
The caregiver’s work attitude is great. She’s always available to help. She’s young, energetic and she’s willing to do anything. She’s just kinda fit right in as another family member.

I just dumped Synergy in early 8.19 and signed off on the last time sheets a week ago. I’m relieved my 7mos with them is finally over! It was an extremely stressful situation and time for me. I wish someone had told me that the owner of Synergy and her daughter only care about themselves their staff and caregivers, they care nothing about the clients. Clients will never be consulted about changes in their daily schedules with caregivers or when caregivers will be switched out. I made a dentist appointment for a Friday morning, only to have my caregiver come in and tell me she no longer worked for me on fridays. I had a dr appointment scheduled 3mos in advance, gave synergy 2mos notice of this because I needed a ride. Again, Friday morning. They never found me a ride. I wouldn’t have gotten my medication if a friend hadn’t taken me and I wouldn’t have been able to walk. I had the owner of synergy call me up to tell me how grateful I should be to her because I was getting a cheaper rate than other clients who don’t participate in a state program. She said she didn’t want me as a client and I better not say anything to upset the caregivers. My friend heard the whole conversation. The owners daughter interviewed both caregivers about personal aspects of my life and got them to spy on me, my friends, my guests and report back to her. Eventually, she found an excuse to get rid of me. The first caregiver would snap at me on a daily basis, several times in front of witnesses, including 2 of her bosses and one of my attorneys. I was embarrassed!! The other one would talk me to death for an hour before she would even start working. I constantly had to listen to her stories about every guy in the state of WI wanting to date her. They were all after her. Both of these caregivers thought they had the right to join in on private conversations with my friend and me too! Both of these women were too old, too physically unfit, too lazy and too incompetent for their jobs. All they wanted to do is sit around and talk, take breaks. They both took a lot of food, bottled water and shower supplies home from my house for their use, roommates or friends use. I was told they weren’t supposed to do that by another caregiver who I wanted back and couldn’t have. I had no say in who came to my house or when. Neither the owner nor her daughter ever cared about what I needed or wanted. They would ignore me or brush me off. They didn’t care about me. The caregivers didn’t want to clean and would throw tantrums in front of witnesses. I would never go back to synergy, nor would I recommend them to anyone.

Determining Your Loved One’s Need for In-Home Care
Aging can be a difficult process, and loved ones may not always ask for help – often times it’s up to their family to evaluate their need for help around the house. While no two situations are exactly alike, this checklist can help you and your loved ones determine when it’s time to start the search for a home care provider.
Guidelines for Talking About In-Home Care
If you’ve determined that your loved one needs the assistance of a care provider in their home, it may be time for a difficult conversation. Handled correctly, however, this process can bring a family together and ensure that everyone’s concerns are addressed. Use this PDF as a starting point to help the conversation stay as positive and productive as possible.
