For the past year, Home Help Companions has provided excellent home care to my 90 year old mother. My mother requires assistance with daily living such as dressing, personal hygiene, meals, light housekeeping, assistance with transportation to medical appointments and of course the more important hair appointment! They have been very accommodating and assigned caregivers to my mother that she really felt comfortable with. If there was a problem, all I had to do was let them know and the problem was resolved. Her caregivers were professional, nurturing and people you can trust to take good care of my mom. I knew she was in good hands. And, it didn't hurt that my mother was thought of fondly by the caregivers who all said how sweet she is and so easy to get along with. They even dealt with her stubbornness with no problem! I knew once I met Donna and Devin for the initial interview prior to hiring them for their services, that it was a good fit. Donna and Devin truly care for the customers they serve. They are not only professional but down to earth good people. I highly recommend Home Help Companions!

We were looking for a long term, live-in companion for my 92 year old mother, who is mentally sound, but who has some mobility problems, but could only find agencies who offered to provide a selection of different carers and who were charging more than we could realisitically afford. Julia offers a unique service which enabled us to find and directly employ Diane, a lovely carer, who has completely transformed my mother's life and who has quickly become part of the family. Julia's professionalism and thoroughness throughout the process was extremely reassuring and I would have no hesitation in recommending her services to anyone else in a similar postition.

When my father needed assistance unexpectedly, my brother and I were panicked because we both lived out of town and could not get home. In the first couple minutes of the conversation with HHC, I knew they would be the company I would trust to help my father through his post-surgery recovery, and that was only reinforced after I contacted other companies. I immediately felt very comfortable with Donna as she not only showed compassion, but also her expertise and understanding the needs of the patient and also that of the whole family. My parents both felt the same way, and enjoyed working with her and her staff. Their professionalism shows in every aspect of their work. It is without reservation that would recommend Home Help Companions to anyone who needed assistance. Thank you Donna and staff!

I used the services of Home Help Companions for my friend for about three-five weeks. They appeared to be prompt and they did what they said they would do. We used two different people during the process and they were both adequate. They were caring, thorough and seemed to do their job well. I would suggest they improve on the meal preparation.

Thank you for the wonderful care you have provided my mother who lives in Augusta, dealing with dementia. All levels of your staff have been very professional and caring. We are able to keep her at home longer, and to give her long time companion a little rest. We sleep better at night knowing that you are there, and able to help us find the right resources which she needs. On a personal note, I have been a medical doctor for about 32 years, and you are the first care givers I have seen who are sincere, pay attention to detail, and willing to go the extra mile. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I have a son who has special needs where I need basically someone to be with him. Not someone to help him physically but basically to sit him for a short amount of time everyday. I guess I searched through Google one day and then Home Help Companions came up and I saw that they have child care service. They were just someone I called. I never really looked at a lot. I had a situation where both my husband and I work. My son goes to school and we have a 45-minute to an hour gap between the time he'd get out of school and my husband gets home. We really needed somebody for just a little time to be here with my son perhaps to shoot some baskets and stuff. He doesn't need any help physically. There's also no medical issue. I mean he has Down Syndrome and of course there's some cognitive issues but physically he's very capable getting around and doing everything. We just need someone at the house. They've been very good at always filling the position like for some reason the person that they have moved on or not available for some reason. They try to get the right match and all that. Every time that they come over, we meet the person beforehand and go over everything. We had good communication on the management side.

My big, huge extended family are so thankful to Donna and her exceptional staff of Chris, Kaitlyn and Linda for the care, and friendship, that they show to my two elderly aunts and two elderly uncles. From the time Donna walked in the house to do a needs assessment for the group, we have known that this was the correct step to take in providing excellent home health care, as well as activities of daily living for these folks. They have been accepting of the entire extended family as we try to provide feedback and some insight into their needs. I hear nothing but positive comments from my aunts and uncles with the care that they are receiving. The only additional thoughts that we have concerning the present care is that we would like to increase the number of hours per day that we will have staff coming in as we all believe that the crew would benefit from this. My thanks to Home Help Companions.

I spoke with about 3 different companies and Home Help Companions seemed the most willing to work with me. They're very kind and compassionate. I was unable to walk and my husband has just gotten a job in Florida and is leaving the next day. I was scared to death. I could not be left alone. We're self paying. They were able to handle my needs. They were here with me about 12 hours. They would come in at 8:00 in the morning. They help me with my bathroom needs, fix me breakfast, and stay with me during the day. She might leave for a little while and then I have another caregiver come in from like 3:00 pm or 4:00 pm until 12:00 midnight at first. They were just so kind. They take really good care of their clients. They make you feel like family. They've been taking care of me now since March and they've just been wonderful. They also take me to my doctor's appointments because I can't drive. They work with me with whatever I need. They just make you feel cared for and that you're not just a number. They make you feel that they really care about you and your welfare. They make you feel like family.

A lot of things they provide are exactly what we needed for my grandfather. Some of the other agencies don't provide everything that Home Help Companions do. They're very professional. They have people that can be counted on. They fill in the times that I can't do. They basically do whatever he needs like fix meals for him. It's been a really good experience with them.

I went out on Google and typed in Home Help for the local area and they came up. I clicked on something that let them know that I had clicked on it and they called me. I was very impressed with Donna who owns the company. I enjoyed talking with her. She's a little bit younger than I am and she's running her own business and everything. She explained to me why she started it, because of a situation when her father was in his later stage of life and the troubles that she had with home health companies. My mother in law is 93 years old and today I had to put her in a nursing home. We only had their services for probably less than a month. For 3 days a week, my mother in-law agreed to have a young woman come in the mornings and in the evenings. She would help her get up and fix breakfast and come back in the evenings to help her fix something to eat and help put her to bed. My mother in-law is only willing to do it 3 times a week. She's still one of those feisty 93-year olds that does not want help. We had to take her to the emergency room yesterday and she finally realized that she needs more help than what she can afford. Anyway, I do not interact with the caregiver, Rachel, personally. My mother in-law did. She found that she's attentive and did everything she ask. I liked Chris, their administrator or case manager person. Both he and Donna made us all feel comfortable as far as whatever my mother in-law wanted and they're always there. We just appreciate all their attention. They didn't overlook her because she's 93 and she's feeble. They have respect for her which is what my husband and I appreciated.

Home Help Companions is just close by to the area where we live. They had different caregivers come in on schedule and we settled on one who's name is Sarah. She's very concerned about my mom. She takes very good care of her. She has a daily log that she keeps on mom's blood pressure and sugar and her vital signs. She takes care of her personal needs too. We're very pleased with her. We've had Home Help Companions since July and I'm really happy having them around.
