"Camellia Walk of Evans was a very good facility. They answered all our questions. It seemed to meet the needs of what we were looking for. The staff was very knowledgeable. They gave us additional information that we hadn't thought of. It was all very clean and very neat. There were no urine smells. It was decorated friendly, not dark and drab and all that."

"Madison Heights Evans was the first place I went to and it gave me a very good guide as to how to compare the rest of the facility. It was a little smaller and I liked it. It didn't have any smell. The staff were engaged with the residents. It was a little farther out than I wanted it to be, but it was a nice guidepost compared to other places. The rooms were nice, clean, and bright. They weren't depressing. I can visualize my husband living there without any problem. The person that gave the tour was very knowledgeable. He answered all the questions. He was the one that got me started on what to compare things to. A lot of the residents were in the gathering area. There was a TV on and they were all kind of seated around comfortably. There was one fellow that was out working in the garden. That was kind of interesting."

"I went to Augusta Gardens. It was very clean. It was recently renovated. The residents there seemed very happy, and the workers seemed like they really cared about the patients. The only thing was that you had to purchase your own, or bring your own furniture. I was not aware that that's what nursing homes or retirement homes require. The rooms were appropriate. I thought the bed location was a little too far from the bathroom that was inside the room. It was OK, but if they had a hard time walking, it's a little bit of a distance. Other than that, it's all right."

"I had looked at over 10 places for my mother, when I picked up the phone and called The Benton House. I was greeted by a person that was able to answer all my questions both professional and with kindness and respect. My mom and my family visited several times, and we loved Benton House each time, more and more. Staff is kind, responsive, and always thinking of the person they are assisting. Food is great, and service and details are excellent. We could not be happier, we found mom a new home in this amazing new stage of her life. "

"Harbor Chase is very nice. However, they had small rooms, which can only fit a single bed and a flat fee for medical of $500. They had a singing group that came in and sang hymns for the residents and had rescue animals come in from the shelter to interact with the residents. I saw them playing bingo and eating in the ice cream parlor. "

"We have chosen Aiken Memory Care for my mother because, in our area, it is the only memory care, and all the others are assisted living plus memory care. Everything is working out well. The caregivers are doing a pretty good job. Everybody is certified there, and that's another thing we like for memory care. They have an activity director. They color with them, play balloon volleyball, go singing, and yesterday they brought in some animals for them. So, they keep them better engaged. My mother's room is spacious, very nice, and up to date. I haven't sampled their food, but my mom hasn't complained. It's all good."

"I toured here, and I liked it very much. It was very clean, and I liked the personnel that we met. We didn't go into details, but they play a lot of games and things to simulate the brain. They also do crafts and things like that. They have a beautiful courtyard, where the residents plant the flowers and take care of them. The courtyard is really pretty."

"My father in law has lived at The Claiborne at West Lake in the Memory Care wing for over a year. We have been so pleased with the care he has received there from the minute he walked in the door. From the beginning, we have all been welcomed so warmly by all the staff members from the front desk receptionist, to the maintenance supervisor, to the nurse in Memory Care, to all the rehab assistants that work on the wing, to the people that work in the kitchen, to the activity coordinator. Each one of them takes special care to show interest in my father in law and in us as well. We have been extremely pleased with the cleanliness of the facility. Every time we have visited, it looks like it has just been cleaned and has a very clean smell throughout the facility. The activity schedule that they have has been outstanding and the way they encourage the residents to be part of the activities that they have has been fantastic as well. Precovid, they made many trips outside the facility which my father in law very much enjoyed. During COVID, they have made every effort to keep the residents involved in the unit and in communication with their families. They always bring any issue that my father in law is having to our attention and we could not be more pleased with the care he has received while he has been there. My father in law was resistant to move in but once he was there for a week or so, he began to think of it as home. It has so many personal touches and a standard of care that is outstanding. We have no complaints about The Claiborne and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a memory care facility. "

"We liked Elmcroft, and my mother has committed to that one, so we are hoping to move her there soon. It was very positive. The people all seemed happy to be there, and everyone was very nice. They had a lot of activities, like field trips, bingo, and other different things. The room is fairly small, but it seemed nice, and the bathroom is nice and big. The food smelled wonderful, and the staff seemed to treat the people well. "

"Thrive at Augusta is surprisingly larger than I'd thought from the street. There's a lot of space. The staff was over-accommodating, as well as pleasant and encouraging, so was the person who took us around to different parts of the facility. It's a very nice place. I've tasted their apple pie and it's wonderful. In terms of activities, there were some games going on. There seemed to be a lot of interactions between the staff and residents."

"Benton House of Aiken was very nice and well laid out. The rooms were spacious but had limited kitchens. The people that live there usually have a kitchenette, which was small. But it looked like the menu was very full and variable each day. It's in a great part of town, too. The staff was very friendly, very thorough, and very patient. They were excellent. They had several outdoor courtyards, a beauty shop, and a van for transportation. They had like a movie room, too."
