Aiken Memory Care seems good so far. Just anywhere you go, there's going to be some issues. It's just that they have to end up learning about the person, and then once they do that, it seems a lot easier. The staff is good. They seem to be helpful. They have arts and crafts, they do a lot of music stuff, and their food is pretty good. The dining room is fair. It needs a little bit of updating. I think they're about to replace the carpet in the hallways. It's a little worn. It's been there since the place was built. Besides that, everything's nice and clean. I visited several other ones, and what made me choose that one over the other one is that it was closer to my home.

We have chosen Aiken Memory Care for my mother because, in our area, it is the only memory care, and all the others are assisted living plus memory care. Everything is working out well. The caregivers are doing a pretty good job. Everybody is certified there, and that's another thing we like for memory care. They have an activity director. They color with them, play balloon volleyball, go singing, and yesterday they brought in some animals for them. So, they keep them better engaged. My mother's room is spacious, very nice, and up to date. I haven't sampled their food, but my mom hasn't complained. It's all good.

I toured Aiken Memory Care. I just felt like they were very thorough in showing me everything and explaining everything. I just felt like it was a very positive place. When I looked at the clientele, they looked like they had been taking good care of them. They were dressed nicely. It looked well-kept and some places did not look like that. I met the chef and she looked like she cared about what she was serving. She had a good menu. I didn't taste it, but I thought the food looked good. The facility looked very nice.
