"My brother is a resident of Pruitt Health - North Augusta, SC. We've been very satisfied with his progress with physical therapy and he will be there for long-term care. I have interacted with the administrator, the director of nurses, the admission coordinator, and the nurse navigator, and they all have been excellent. He's in a private room. It's like a bedroom with a bathroom in it. They did have a courtyard that he could go out in. He can use his electric wheelchair there, which he was very happy with. They do have a lot of activities, with an activity board that they can look at and see what's going on every day if they want to participate. The food has been excellent. They do have choices. If they don't like that, they have all alternative meals that they can pick from."

"The staff were generally very nice, not as attentive as we would have liked, but from a family member's perspective I guess you only want the best and can't see what's really going on. The facility was very clean, had a nice activity room, physical therapy room and sun room with rocking chairs for the residents. "

"As this was my first experience with nursing homes I really didn't know what to expect in terms of care. Most people are familiar with the horror stories of abuse on the news, and this had really been my only exposure to nursing homes prior to visiting. Initially my grandfather was placed in a private nursing home, but we soon discovered that he, as a veteran, was eligible to stay in the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home that is local to us. I believe this program is unique to Georgia in that it's completely free to veterans. The care, and facility, were beyond my expectations. The staff was friendly and attentive and tried to make the residents feel at home. My grandfather never had any complaints aside from the food (other than just wanting to be back at home). The staff, thankfully, would look the other way when we would sneak him some real food. I imagine our experience with the nursing home was as good as you could hope for given the circumstances. It's never preferable to put a loved one in a place like that, but I'm sure there could have been far worse places that he could've gone. "

"I was at PruittHealth - Augusta Hills for rehab. It was very clean and the staff was very professional. The food was good and I have no complaints about it. The administrator and I just didn't get along well. It was a smoking facility, and he had a thing where newcomers couldn't smoke. He didn't understand that I have been in the hospital for almost four months, and that's where he and I had a problem, but other than that, I didn't have any complaints about him. They would have a specific time that they would call me to do an exercise. If I can't make it to the exercise room, they used to help me while I was in my own room and bed, because it was very difficult for me to get up and move about sometimes. I got along with everyone. It wasn't stressful doing the exercises. I enjoyed it."

"It was close to the house. The facility was clean and homey. The ladies who showed us around, they were really nice. Most of them were two people to a room. People seemed content there. I would recommend it to others. "

"My mom was at Steven Park Health & Rehabilitation. I thought the care and the services were very good. The nursing staff and the therapists were good. I would say overall, I would give them an "A". I thought the rooms were fine and comfortable. The dining room was OK. It was adequate. They had multiple people at a table, and it had a pleasant setting. The food sometimes was OK; sometimes it wasn't OK. They had some social recreations. They had an activity room with a TV. They had another activity room with board games and things. They had some church groups that came in and sang. I thought they had a whole lot of activities there. "

"I feel that overall the facility met the needs of my family. It is very difficult for a nursing home to keep the morale of the residents high due to various reasons, but this particular facility seemed to work well with given circumstances. Many residents never feel the need to live in an assisted living environment so it becomes very difficult to work with them. Blair House was very respectful of my great grandmother and made sure that all of her needs were met and that she was well taken care of. It is never easy to make the decision to move a loved one into an assisted living environment, but it is a major help when the establishment takes care of its residents. I would recommend the Blair House nursing home to other if they find that assisted living has become a necessity for a loved one. Thank you. "

"My sister moved to PruittHealth - Creekside. The staff is excellent, and I have not had any complaints with any of them. It's an older building that's been remodeled, and they're building new branches on the backside of it. The inside is excellent, and they keep the outside very clean, too. It's just not a beautiful building like some of the current facilities. My sister says there have only been one or two things that she thought were not great, but she says the food is always very well prepared. I have been there while she was eating and saw how nicely they do the plates. The value is good. They put her on Medicaid, and that has helped tremendously."

"My mother stayed at Harrington Park, where she's doing her rehab. They had a room come open and they kept her there. They just have a high quality of care. The people there are very nice and accommodating. She seems to like it. She said the food's delicious. They take good care of her. So, she has no problems. They're absolutely wonderful. I have not tried the food because of Covid, not anybody's allowed in there right now. So you can't really go, but she has no complaints, and she seems to be content and happy there. It looks very nice and clean. I have seen a room. I did go peek in a window, because you can't go in there, but I have seen a room, and it looks very well-kept, maintained, and clean. The cleanliness and the staff that are so friendly, it's just a very nice place. It is a little pricey, but I understand why, for the quality of care, and what she gets there, I think it's reasonable. It's incomparable with every other nursing home in Augustus."

"Staff is friendly and responsive. Smiles at the receptionist desk add light and joy. The activities coordinators, Ms. Elizabeth and Jamie, are always looking for ways to bring fun and excitement to the residents, offering a variety of social and mental skills, to the patients. I often hear them say how they enjoy going out on the van for lunch. The residents that attend Buble Study are a joy to have in class. Those who can participate, do join in. It is always a pleasure to hear a yes, Lord or an Amen. The location is great as it sits adjacent to Doctors Hospital, which I'm sure comes in real handy when immediate emergency care is needed. "

"My grandmother was placed in the Kentwood nursing home when I was 20 years old. Upon arriving to the nursing home I was not met with the smell of urine or a place that was dirty. There were fresh flowers in the lobby. The receptionist was very nice and welcoming. She asked if there was any help that we needed and directed us to the correct individual that could help. We then spoke with the nursing director because we wanted to know how my grandmother had been doing. We were glad to hear that she was doing well, she was getting along with the staff and other residents. Since it was our first time visiting we were given a tour and it was very clean. It also was close to lunch time so we were able to see the food that the residents were served. The food smelled great and looked delicious. Once we visited my grandmother's room I could tell that she was happy and enjoying living there. One thing that I had a problem with was that the CNA's were standing around. The rest of staff was on task though. "

"For the most part, the staff at Westwoods are caring individuals and seemingly have sincere concern for the residents. However, their staffing levels consistently seem to be only at the minimum required level or even below because of turnover. This creates a situation where staff members are stretched causing meals to be late, residents are left in bed for days and there is a consistent stench in the air of human waste. This is a management problem."

"My grandmother went to Pepper Hill for her rehab after she fell and broke her hip. We were so concerned about her going to rehab and getting the care she needed. The staff was so caring and the nursing staff was excellent. The attended to every need she had. The therapy was wonderful and in just a matter of a few days, they had my grandmother up and walking with assistance. My grandmother did so well, she was able to return home after a few weeks of therapy and the entire family was so pleased at how well she did and how well the staff at Pepper Hill took care of her. I highly recommend Pepper Hill. They are true to their motto, " Family taking care of Family." "

"My mother was in Anchor Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Aiken. It was more of a nursing-home facility, so it was a good bit more expensive. I liked it alright. The staff was good. I know they had a 24-hour nurse and doctor at the place. They’re building onto the community now and doing a lot of work."

"I found the facility to be very clean. The walls had recently been painted and the carpet was freshly replaced. The bumpers on the wall had been cleaned and touched up. There was no odd odors that can frequently be present in an assisted living facility. The staff seems cordial but you can tell they are understaffed and overworked. The nurses didn't seem to have time to talk with you about the care of my loved one. My family member new the CNA's quiet well but didn't know who her nurse was. The food trays I saw seemed to be quiet nice and my family member always said they were good. The facility had at least 3 recreation activities a day that she could pick from and never seemed bored. Overall I would recommend this facility to anyone in Aiken looking for a place to help care for their loved one's. "

"My name is Billy Cooper and spent time at Azalea Woods (Carlyle Senior Care) with some early experiences due to recovering from brain surgery after a fall at my residence that required Emergency Room action at the University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Upon therapy treatment at three other locations that was not successful, I was finally moved to Azalea Woods in Aiken, SC to continue my rehab program. I was advised after surgery that I had lost 90% of my memory and rehab was getting very tough. Due to memory loss, I can not recount days/weeks/months I was a patient at all the facilities, but in the early stages at Azalea Woods, I encountered some problems with my rehab and was relocated to another section of the facility where all of a sudden things began to click for me. With the assistance from my twin brother and family, things began to show signs of improvement. The therapists and nurses took me under their wings and I suddenly began to realize that I could and would improve with that staff. The therapist and nurse training encouraged me to move forward and I soon began to get out of my bed and start a walking program that so excited me and the staff. I began to improve daily until my final graduation and release in late August 2018. I am now in an apartment on my own and looking forward to a better life. God bless the staff for without their support, I would not be where I am today. I would recommend this facility for rehab to those in need of the help."
