"Cumberland Village was just a very calm, serene type of neighborhood. It had apartments and houses. It had a very nice woodland setting. It was off any busy highways and roads, which was very nice. It had a swimming pool, a library, a very nice dining area, and menus that we got to see. We did get to see a model home, and it was very nice. It's like a villa, there are probably two units. Two apartments or two houses make up a unit. There's only one staff that we've interacted with. She could not have been better informed, and she was on good terms with the other people who were located there. She gave a very thorough tour."

"The staff was helpful and friendly at Washington Commons. The rooms were spacious and convenient. They had activities like exercises and religious services. I had a meal there, and the food was very good. The dining setup was like a restaurant. It was nice. "

"I went on a tour of Brandon Wilde's independent living several months ago. It's very up-to-date, very clean, and very elegant. The hallways are wide, and nothing's blocking them, so I imagine that the patients who would need to navigate the halls would have plenty of room. I spent a lot of time with the sales director, and I found her to be very knowledgeable, a good listener, and very helpful in answering questions directly."

"Trinity on Laurens was a clean place. The one apartment I saw was nicely laid out and I liked the fact that it had a full kitchen (with a stove, a refrigerator, some storage, and a sink). I still enjoy cooking, so I would like to cook a little now and then, while still be able to partake in their meals. The dining room was nice. They only offer one meal a day, so I will either make my lunch or my dinner. They had a nice laundry room setup with plenty of washers and dryers. They're not coin-operated, so that was nice, and they had a big metal rack where you can hang your clothes up and an ironing board. They have an activity room. They were having something going on, so we didn't go in there. They also do ice cream socials, some church stuff, therapy dogs that come in, chair yoga, other exercises, and a social and happy hour get-together. There's parking, (which is nice because I'll still be using my car), nice sitting rooms, and big areas where you could sit at. Also, what was intriguing was when you go down the hall and pass a couple of apartments, there'd be a little alcove on each side with two chairs and a table with a lamp on. They said that a lot of people will just sit there while their apartments are being cleaned. I thought that was kind of nice."

"I had stayed at Walton Oaks for about ten months. It was a good place. Everything there was nice. Their apartments looked like a house. My apartment had two big bedroom and two bathrooms. It was full of appliances. It was fully carpeted. The staff was very good. Every two weeks they brought in food and for about $3 they would give us a bag full of it and it was good. I enjoyed living there. I had told my family how good they were and I would recommend them to others. "

"I have been living at Vintage Gardens Apartments for a month now. It is just one floor, and I have a living room, bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. It's all wheelchair accessible. They offer one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. The only obligation you have to pay for is power. Dominion Energy is the source of power here. The manager is very cooperative. They have garbage collection on Tuesdays and Fridays, and she will pick it up at your door. Every so often they have get-togethers in the small clubhouse for bingo and stuff like that. They have a small bus that will take the residents to the grocery store, doctor's appointments, and things like that. They have a sun porch at the front with nice, heated air. You can use it year-round. The bathroom is large and wheelchair accessible, but there are no drawers. There are shelves and linen closets. I used part of the vanity for storage. I placed a tension rod and a curtain across there. Other than that, it's fine. The kitchen and the bathroom are both tiled floors, but everything else is carpeted. The manager is very helpful with any concerns you may have. The facility itself is very nice. If you have a washer and dryer, there are hookups available in the kitchen. There is also an onsite laundry. Overall, the environment is pleasant and neat."
