"Discovery Village At Sandhill is beautiful. It had everything that anyone could want. The apartments are very nice. It's costly, but probably worth what the cost is. The staff is very friendly, we had lunch there, and it was excellent. At the time we were there, there were very few people eating, but it was lovely. The chef talked to us and there were also other people that we talked to. It was a nice atmosphere. It's a new community so everything is beautiful."

"I went to Jenni-Lynn Senior Living. The tour was very informative. The area was kind of secluded, but not too far off the main road. The housing options were viewable. It was very open, so they allowed us to go in and view how we would be living. The staff was very informative, answered all the questions we asked, and provided other options for us, too. For people who need care, they have their own section, and then the people who are trying to be independent are separate."

"Hulon Greene is attractive; the grounds are well kept. They have 3 condo buildings where they have 36 units, then they have 114 patio homes. It’s nice. We have plenty of room. Everything is on one level. It does not have a meal plan. There are a lot of social activities. Whatever you want to be involved with, you can. We have a clubhouse center and a pool. We have an activities committee that plans a lot of events almost monthly. We have bridge or the card games going on. We have morning coffee for men or morning coffee for women. We have poker. It’s a very pleasant place to live. Neighbors look out for each other. "

"My grandmother's building was clean and well maintained. We ate lunch at the Still Hopes cafeteria and it was clean and the food was perfect. There was one disgruntled employee who was somewhat rude to my brothers and myself but that was just one person out of an otherwise stellar staff. the facility is even expanding and there is now a small park with a pathway to walk, which is a big plus. Still Hopes has just recently built a workout facility with a pool and activities room. My grandmother wants a sense of freedom and she gets that with her room and building. The staff in her residence building is helpful and courteous. My grandmother feels comfortable with all the staff and everyone knows her on a first name basis. Overall, I am very pleased with the care and atmosphere of Still Hopes Retirement Community. My grandmother is happy and has had no complaints. She seems happy which is the most important thing. "

"Columbia Presbyterian is a very nice place. My mom is in a semi-private room. It had a little more privacy and had a little more space. It was also nice. I had problems with some of her clothes going missing there, but I like the place. Most of the staff is very good. I ran into one or two people there that I really liked. They have activities, but my mother was not really in a position to participate. I like the environment. It's very clean, pleasant and a fairly healthy attitude. But it was also a little bit out of my budget. "

"My mom is at Merrill Gardens at Columbia. It is more of a senior living site establishment. It is a new facility, so they are taking residents now in that area. They have open house visits, which is awesome. The services they provide are meals, 24-hour assistance so someone's there monitoring the facility, a security bus in front of the facility, on site physicians and everything. They also have a contract with another service that comes there and they can do things like home care kind of type. My mother enjoys it there, she loves it and then she transitioned over, she really enjoys that. It's awesome, brand new, and they also have a memory care section. She said their food is very fulfilling, they get 3 course meals, snacks in between, a chef on site, and so she loves it. They have activities for the residents every day. Due to COVID19, she did not do any of it now, but they asked to have scheduled trip for the residents to the museum, or they may go to a particular store or a little trip, but due to COVID19, they can't do those right now. They have an exercise room, massage, and salon, so the residents can get their hair done. They have a lot of activities there, every day, they have something to do. The rooms were very pleasant and I will give it a 5. They were with you and they really try to get residents to come in, so they actually try to work with you and their starting rate is very reasonable. The staff were very helpful, when I can't get in contact with my mom and she doesn't answer the phone, they contacted me. The rooms actually have the emergency alert record that they can pull at every room but my mom doesn't use it but I understand. They're very informative and they keep me informed every time I call. They knew about my mother, I felt like I am very comfortable with that."

"I have a family member staying there. The facility staff are always asking me what they can do for me or my family member. I am able to visit any day at anytime I want without having to call ahead. The facility has always been clean when I visit. The food is always prepared on time and hot. They provide a variety of meals for the residents. I am able to call anytime I want and a staff member will let me talk to my family member. The staff will also answer any questions I have. I like this facility more compared to the others that I have seen. One thing I like about this one is that there are at least 2 staff members that live on site at various times. I think this helps with the condition of the facility since some of the staff is actually living there also. They seem to really care about the residents. I would like it if the facility made some repairs to the outside concrete "walks". Some of the concrete slabs have sunken in the ground due to age and weather. The walkway is connected with several different concrete slabs. Due to the fact that some of the slabs have sunk in the ground. It has a caused the adjoining concrete slab to stick up at least an inch out of ground. This can cause a resident to slip and fall on the concrete walkway. "

"My farther has been at Wellmore of Lexington for just over a year. He’s in memory care. It took us all some time to adjust. We love having him there. His room is spacious, the lounge/eating area is always clean with lots of outside light coming in. They can sit outside. The activities are dad’s favorite thing to do other than eat! The staff is friendly, caring and attentive to his needs and our concerns. It’s a beautiful safe place. We love it!!"

"My mother-in-law is at Rice Estate, and we think it's a really good place. She's doing well. It's very warm and attractive. The staff is engaged, and she's very happy there. She has a bedroom, a bathroom, and a living area with a kitchenette off of it. I think it's a great place. They have a good activity calendar. They have restaurant-style dining. The best thing is the personality of the staff members. Every staff member I've met is really warm and knows the residents well. "

"Wildewood Downs is a fairly small place, so my mother gets the attention she needs, and it's got a really good staff. They are friendly and skilled. Her needs are being met in a timely manner. I think the whole place is a five-star community. It's very nice and I was lucky to be able to get her there. She also enjoys the food. She still does some rehab, then they have crafts, and she is able to join them if she wants."
