I visited this facility

We chose New Perspective Senior Living Waukesha. We were there for lunch. We're looking at independent living, but we also confirmed that we could stay in that same apartment and progress to assisted living if need be. The facility itself was beautiful. It was new, very, very clean, it had an indoor pool and it had beautiful ceiling tiles and areas to give it a little bit of an ambiance. The most important thing for us was, it was like blocks from our daughter. The food was great, and we were able to order off a menu, and it was served by waiters and waitstaff. It was very, very nice.

I visited this facility

We toured New Perspective Waukesha and we were impressed with it. They were very accommodating and very kind. It didn't have all of the activities that the other places have and my dad needs more people to be around him and more social things to do. The place is very nice. The dining area has a restaurant look and feel to it. The residents are very nice. They seem outgoing and happy. They have a movie theater, a fitness place where they do exercises, a bar that's open every evening, a library, and a pool.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Everyone at New Perspective Waukesha was extremely friendly and welcoming. The environment was warm and welcoming, almost resort-like. It's beautiful and it feels like the people make it like home. They have individual senior apartments, assisted living, and memory care. There's a monthly calendar that comes out are there's happy hour every day from Mondays to Fridays. There's a movie theater, they do crafts at least twice a week and they go on little excursions. They have a bistro, they have a bakery, they have a pool, and they have therapy included right in the house. Their dining room is set up like you're going in a restaurant where you get seated, and they bring you a menu and you choose. Their decorations for the holidays are beautiful and adorable. They have a library, they have little tables, puzzles in the puzzle room, and they have fireplaces in most rooms. Just the environment aesthetically is very, very nice. A classmate of mine was there for her mom, and she said it was the Taj Mahal of all senior living. She gets one meal a day in independent living. Compared to other places we've been to, I'd say that the value for the money is comparable and you're getting more. They have a jungle gym area for kids, so when grandkids come and visit there's an enclosed big rainbow gym playset. They also have a garden, walking paths, and it's very nice.

We liked New Perspective a lot. It's new, so it was very clean and well-organized. The size of the rooms and the layout were very nice. The girl that I met was Penny, she's a very, very nice person. The layout of the place, I thought was excellent. They have things like the dining area, movie theater, waiting rooms, activities for the people that live there, a general meeting area, and they have a pool. The kitchen only has appliances like a refrigerator and stove, if needed. They offer the meals to take up to the rooms. The staff who gave the tour was a very nice and knowledgeable gal.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My friend moved to New Perspective. They have wonderful activities. I couldn't go to the activities, though I'm looking forward to going to them because of the COVID. There are card games, there is a puzzle room, she has a pool, a workout room, and a theater room. They have an open bar two hours a day. My friend just loves it, and the people that take care of her are really nice. She had a stroke and she needs personal care like the bathroom and showering, so she likes the people there. When I got there, she was at the table in the dining room, and it was very lovely. There was a man playing the piano; it was really nice and he's just a resident there. I wasn't supposed to be in the dining room but I didn't know that. It just was a COVID thing, I wasn't supposed to be with the general population. But they have bowls of water on the floor, like in front of the fireplace in the front, for people's dogs, because they have dogs. There's a church right next door; their neighbor is a church and that's really nice. So she could just go in her wheelchair and she could go into the church if she wanted. Everyone we've encountered there is really nice. Their facilities are wonderful. They even have televisions in the hallways when you're waiting for the elevator; it's right on the wall. Apparently, you can't miss a football play between your room and the dining area if you're watching a football game. Their activities are really cool. They even had a state fair theme, and they did a Fourth of July thing, and when I went they had made paper Kentucky Derby hats, and they had mint juleps when there was the Kentucky Derby. Her hat was actually pinned on the door of her apartment. They have a game night too, and they have cribbage, but because I couldn't go to do the cribbage because there might be other people there, they let me use a cribbage board and a deck of cards so she and I could play in her room. The value for the money is good.

I visited this facility

My mother is moving into New Perspective next weekend. It was very easy talking to everybody, all the information I got was great, and it went really well. The staff was very sweet, very helpful, and very welcoming. They have plenty of activities, and they also have on-call staff for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and water therapy. They have a pool there. Mom is getting a 1-bedroom with a small kitchenette and a living room. She's going for three meals a day in their dining room where they have set meals for each, like breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but if she doesn't want to eat those meals, she can choose off the menu, and they'll make it for her. They're just very friendly. They have plenty of options to go on; they even have a happy hour every night.
