We visited Anderson House. They were very welcoming. The rooms were very clean and well equipped. There were the typical activities of an adult facility, like bus trips for shopping and going places. The food was wonderful.

I would say that the employees always seem overwhelmed and not as prepared to handle emergencies as efficiently as they should be able to. It sometimes can take a lot of time for a CNA to come and assist my grandmother when she needs one. The workers are really nice and patient with the residents, they just seem like they are either overworked or understaffed all the time. On a positive note, the food is pretty good and not as institutionalized as I would have expected. Overall I gave them a rating of 3 because if I had more money I would definitely move her, mostly because I think she deserves the best not because they are terrible. Also, the place smells kinda like sickness and death, but I guess that is also to be expected when most of the people there have one foot out the door.

Anderson House took very good care of my father-in-law. He was a difficult man to care for, as he complained constantly and often made seriously inappropriate remarks to the staff. The staff handled his personality with professionalism. They gave him the same care and concern as all the other people, despite the fact that it was difficult to care for him much of the time. They came to know the family and were very open and receptive to our sometimes large groups visiting. My father in law was in and out of the facility many times, as he really didn't want to be anywhere but home. The staff always welcomed him back when he returned, never letting on that he was difficult for them to care for. The food in the facility was quite good, and he often was served something off of the regular menu when he requested it. The overall experience with Anderson House was quite good. We would definitely consider using AH again in the future should the need arise.
