"Harmony at Chantilly was nice and clean. They have lots of great facilities, like a gym, a dining hall, an art room, and everything. The staff was very nice, accommodating, and answered all our questions. They have physicians on staff and a beauty salon/ barbershop."

"I toured The Residence at Colvin Run, and they were fantastic. They were good. What I liked most was the staff and the salesperson who gave me the tour. They knew people's names. They were saying hello to each of the residents and addressing people. The atmosphere was fantastic. It was a friendly, family-type atmosphere where people knew each other and felt comfortable. I met the chef and saw him coming out. He talked to the residents and greeted people by name. The salespeople talk to people by name, which shows a lot in the relationships and care they're giving."

"Sunrise of Fair Oaks was wonderful. They were absolutely fantastic and I loved it there. I thought they were fabulous and very nice, but it's just very pricey. "

"My mother moved into Asheir Homes. It's a very small residential facility. There are only eight patients. It's very nice, but the trouble is, during the pandemic, visiting is extremely limited. Today, they just sent us a note saying they may not be taking any visitors if you don't live in Maryland, and I live in DC. I won't be able to visit anymore and I'm very upset about that. My mother's move was a very difficult process. It's difficult to move somebody who is 97 years old. She did not want to move and she didn't understand why she had to move; it was a very difficult process. The staff is fine. We like the staff. They text fairly often. My mother has a private room. She has physical therapy there, and they sent me some videos of them playing different games. They have all kinds of things going on. There's a very big yard and a patio. My mother is in a wheelchair, so she doesn't get out very much. The meals are good, but she is just so upset at having to leave. The facility is absolutely great. It's really expensive."

"Living at Cogir of Potomac has truly been a joy. The grounds are so peaceful, with a koi pond and walking paths that make every day feel refreshing, and the meals taste like dining out at a nice restaurant. I love spending time with friends at happy hour, catching a movie with fresh popcorn, or simply relaxing on the terrace in the sunshine. The staff are always kind and attentive—I feel cared for but still independent. It really is the perfect mix of comfort, community, and fun!!"

"We visited Sunrise of Vienna right after they opened. The community only had a few residents at the time we visited. The facility is absolutely beautiful. It is a five-star, modern, gorgeous hotel. It's really pretty. My mother-in-law prefers an older-style Sunrise or the more homey-style assisted living. However, for me and my husband, if we had been looking for ourselves, it's what we would have picked. They outdid themselves on just being a beautiful facility. They have pretty, nicely laid-out apartments. There are different views and stuff like that. It was just really nice. For the common areas, there were little outdoor patios. The staff was outstanding and very knowledgeable. We did not try the food, but the dining area was upscale and nicely done. However, even though I've been raving about it, there were only a couple of residents, so we didn't get to see the community as it would come together."

"It is all about the people! In August 2024, we moved from the Farrcroft subdivision (Fairfax) to The Trillium Tysons. At the time, we could not have anticipated how much we needed to be at The Trillium or how much The Trillium family would change our lives for the better. In our Fairfax community, we knew 6 people but were genuine friends with only 2. Within the last 6 months at the Trillium, we have acquired 100+ new friends among residents and 60+ among staff. We enjoy friendships and opportunities for socialization with residents in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care apartments. The residents and staff represent a diverse population from around the world with richly inspiring experiences to share. Personally, we have had a few unexpected health issues in the last six months, but we have felt the support, loving embrace of the Trillium community that would ordinarily find only in a close-knit family. The facility is gorgeous throughout the 15 floors. The restaurants accommodate individual needs/requests and consistently offer 5-star meals daily. There are so many exemplary daily activity opportunities that one has to choose among them. These include guided physical activity, arts and crafts, education, games, and entertainment both within The Trillium building but also excursions into the larger metropolitan community. Apartment maintenance, housekeeping, and transportation services are provided expeditiously at the highest level of quality. Have there been a few glitches in a newly constructed building? Of course. Could some processes be more efficient? Yes. However, the overall collective experience is extraordinary. Moving to The Trillium is one of the best decisions we have made in our long lives. We have rediscovered joy in our senior years. We consider ourselves blessed and fortunate to be living at The Trillium surrounded by such wonderful people."

"Advent Care is like a house in a neighborhood. It's a nice idea, but it wasn't quite what my aunt needed in terms of the bathroom being accessible. I think it would have been difficult for her to get around the house in a wheelchair. The lady was very helpful. Even when she knew that we weren't going to be able to do private pay, she shared resources with us on how to get financial help to try to get her into a comfortable situation. She even followed up with me later and sent me websites and stuff. It has two rooms, one has two beds, and the other only has one bed. She said her family lives there at the house, and there was a dog, which I know my aunt wouldn't like. She said that when her husband and her child are home, they help. She prepares meals, which is nice. My mom went with me, and she is in her 60s. She does have knee problems, and she had a hard time getting around. There wasn't a railing on the front step. There wasn't a ramp. She had to use the bathroom, and she had a hard time getting up off the toilet because there weren't the handicap bars where they needed to be. I wasn't comfortable with it. It is not well-equipped for someone who can't walk on their own. If they can get up and walk around, it is a nice little house, and meals are made from scratch. They had chairs and stuff outside, but it was a question of how to get them out there. There's no ramp. The lady said that they encourage them to be out and about, and they have TVs in the family room. She was very helpful, even knowing that we weren't going to be able to give them our business. She still continued to offer support, health websites, things like that to help us find a place and offered to even take my aunt temporarily for a lower price if we couldn't find a place for her to live, like if we couldn't get the Medicaid thing settled. She was a very, very nice lady. It was more physical equipment-wise that was questionable. The food looked good, like homemade fresh vegetables, chicken, that kind of thing."

"It was very friendly and everybody seemed to be happy. They were eating when I got there. They were very informative and they answered questions. The place looked very clean. It seemed like almost a bed and breakfast type of atmosphere which I really like. It was homey, too. The actual building itself is 130 years old but they have added on facilities at the back. The dining and the actual bedrooms are in the newer section. "

"After a lengthy search, we found the perfect home for Mom that checked all the boxes: Safe, clean, attentive staff, home-cooked meals, happy residents and conveniently located near family. The home has good natural light and the sun in Mom’s room makes it cheerful. The owner is an experienced registered nurse who understands the needs of the resident. She effectively communicates with Mom, family members and caregivers to provide Mom with an individualized care management plan to ensure she stays healthy, safe, and happy. Her good judgement and communication have relieved our family of worrying about Mom’s care and have enabled us to spend quality time when we visit. Mom loves the caring and attentive staff who make her feel loved and special. They go above and beyond to help her and make her happy. Mom always looks forward to the meals. She is always dressed and clean when we drop in. We never expected Mom to be so content. Assisted Living of Potomac far exceeds our expectations."
