My mother gets excellent care at Rocky Mountain Care - Murray. They're doing physical therapy and all her medical needs. She likes it there. It's a good community. They have good staff. It's not a big place, so it's a lot better for me. My mother is in a shared room. They have to share a bathroom with the room next door, and then they have a small dining room. They have activities every day. The room is not big, but my mother doesn't need a big room anyway. Aside from therapy, they have music therapy, they have a beautician who comes in once or twice a month and cuts hair, and they do activities every day. They have crafts, bingo, memory games, coloring, and stuff like that, which she likes to do. They have alternate meals and stuff, which is good because a lot of times my mother doesn't like certain things, so she can always get something alternative to that. They always give her something she likes. As for value for the money, they're taking most of her Social Security, but I think it's really good.

At Rocky Mountain Care, the restroom is connected to the other room that has two people in it. If there are two other people in that connecting bedroom, that means there are four people who share one bathroom. It's like that all through the facility, unless you have a private room, and then you have your own bathroom. My brother says he likes it. He was happy to get into that place because he would have been out on the streets. There's a one-man show for the night shift because they're shorthanded. The other staff they have there are like people they call in through an agency. The administrator was nice and gave me lots of information. I have to ask for them to verify certain things, and nursing is pretty good about trying to find out that I haven't heard feedback. The one nurse I talked to has only been there for six weeks, and she's very green. I said I need to know what number the oxygen on my brother's compressor is at so that I know that he's going to be able to breathe through the night. She says, "Well, maybe we can monitor him through the night, so we'll see if we can get that in place." There's only one guy there, so that was a good suggestion. I hope they were able to do that. My brother says that they played Jeopardy and his team won. They have art activities and a couple of other things. I did see their board, and they have services. Their food looks pretty good. They have snacks that they can help themselves to. When I first went there, we walked past a tray that had yogurt and granola bars and different kinds of little snacks they could pick up if they were hungry. When I call and ask for specifics, they're good about getting it done. When I left the first night, the guy who's the one-man show at nighttime had found an oxygen compressor and was getting it ready so my brother could have oxygen at night.

Rocky Mountain Care has been updated recently. It had flat screen TVs in all of the semi-private rooms. They have a nice dining hall, and they actually offer soup and bread to all family members that come to visit. They have lots of activities. They have five menu choices for each meal. It was clean and nice. It was just a little bit noisier than the other places. They had a wonderful and helpful staff.
