My friend was at Arden Courts of San Antonio for fourteen months. Her experience was very good primarily because of the staff, their caring attitude, and their overall treatment of the residents and people, like me, as family. It was a pleasure to have her there. The interior is well wallpapered, because they have different little areas where you can sit with the resident and visit outside of their rooms. Our favorite one was what they called the "City Park", which had a couple of walls of beautiful flowers and a garden. It was very nice. There were also many doors where you could go out into a large back courtyard that was sealed off. The residents could go out there on their own. Whenever the weather permitted, we would go outside because we both liked the outdoors. Once you're inside, there are four separate sections, or what they call houses, where you can walk around the inside of all of them. In other words, there's a four-way hallway and you can keep walking around in a square, each one leading to one of the four houses. Each of the houses had its name. So, it was set up to be cheerful and helpful to the residents, as well as visitors. I was just a little disappointed that the outside didn't have more flowers, but it was still attractive and comfortable. She was in a one-bedroom with one bathroom, sink, and no shower. There's nothing remarkable about it. It's a very small space, which I don't think is bad. For those residents who can get out, they encourage them to participate in the activities. They come and knock on your door and ask you, "Would you like to go to this activity in a few minutes? Would you like to do that?" They don't just post the activities and let it happen, especially once they get to know the residents and people like me and her daughter, and we could tell them what kinds of things she likes. The food is good. They also have a good staff, a good program, and a good physical setup. I'm happy with how she was cared for there.

Moved my Father into Arden Courts last year and have been very pleased with his care. He likes the food, staff and activities. He especially likes the large outdoor courtyard and spending time out there, watching birds and the planes fly overhead. He seems as content as he possibly could be.

Arden Courts of San Antonio had a nice set up. It's pure memory care. They don't do anything else so they can focus on just that one area. They can be more fluid in the way that they treat them, because we've got so many different varieties of dementia/memory care that are out there so being able to focus on just memory care was definitely one of the big pluses that I saw. It was a very nice place. It was set up beautifully. It was like one big place, but they've got four different cottages, and within each cottage there were 12 or 14 people that actually lived in that space, but then all the spaces kind of came together into one big central area where everybody can interact with each other. So it was a good community. The lady was very, very helpful, and incredibly pleasant, and was very careful about pointing out all of the things that were available at that location. She was great.

Arden Courts of San Antonio have different painted rooms and an activity center. The people and the staff that I know there have been very kind. They have a lot of amenities like exercise for the residents and puzzles like all of the other places.

Arden Court in San Antonio is a very nice place. They are very caring. This one has a beautiful walkway path. The rooms are single rooms with a closet, a bed, a private bath, dressers, and have a garden view. They have music, exercise programs, physical activities, and games. My father enjoys the food. They have four different small dining rooms, so it is more intimate, like a family style, with the kitchens attached to the dining room. They are clean and well lit. The meals seem to be enjoyed by the residents. The chairs are comfortable, and the tables are nice. We like the setup, and we like the caring attitude from the staff. I like how all the doctors come in to the facility.

My dad's been in Arden Courts since October. So far everything is pretty good. The staff seem very patient with the people. Although my dad has fallen a couple times, and they just didn't quite get there in time. He doesn't walk well so that's to be expected. He's also incontinent but he's always clean. The staff seems to be caring for the most times.

Arden Courts has an enclosed area where residents can go outside. They have four different areas, what they call houses, and each house have their own little porch inside. They have certain staff for each area so that the patients can get oriented. There was also a very nice courtyard. The staff was very nice and very dedicated people. Some of them have worked there for numbers of years. I was told they've grown to love the people and they feel like they can reach out and touch the people in a way to help them through their rehabilitation.
