"I toured the Grand Brook Memory Care of Garland for my sister, and I had a good impression of it. The rooms were spacious, and I liked the setup. The way that it was designed was nice. The most impressive part was the staff. It's mostly because they were responsive, and they were very personable with the residents and with me. They have lots of activities, but I didn't focus on how many. They did tell me all of the different activities they have. I could see they have good communication with the residents. One example is that they had lots of signage so residents could see locations. The place seemed to be much different from other facilities in terms of how they're set up and how they understand their clients' needs."

"Atria Canyon Creek is excellent. We're very happy here. The staff is very friendly and they try to be accommodating. They offer good service. The opportunities to interact and socialize with other residents are high. The food is outstanding. The size of our room is very good. Cleanliness is good. They have swimming, theater, movies, and all kinds of games. Although my husband and I don't participate, there is a happy hour. We enjoy the community church service. They have special programs for special holidays and events. The dining area is very good."

"Arbor Hills Memory Care Community was an excellent place, and they offered us an excellent deal. Everything was good, but we had a deadline of one month to do it, and we didn't. It's extremely well appointed, very nice, and very clean. They take precautions for Covid right at the door. They give you a good tour of the place. The staff was very personable. I really liked her. I'm going to try to (if we go back there) deal with her going forward. They have different activities. They have a bus that takes you places, but that's not for my dad. The one thing that they have that my daughter and I liked is they have a couple of different rooms where the residents might meet up, sit around, and visit. One or two of the rooms, the family can reserve and celebrate their loved one's birthday or a holiday. I think it's two hours at a time. The room is free, and they'll prepare it. You can buy the food from them for the meal that you're going to be serving or you can bring in your own. They don't charge you if you need the room or with the help that they give you in serving. It seemed nicer than any place else."

"I will move into The Reserve at North Dallas. I liked it because it was very clean and nice, and there were a lot of people who worked there in the hallway. The room was very nice. We looked at the room, and a friend of mine came with me. The lady who helped us was excellent. Her name's Brittany. She answered all our questions, and she wasn't pushy. They have a refrigerator and a stove. They have a full kitchen, and they also have washers and dryers. They drove across town to come to pick me up because I was wheelchair-bound, and I didn't have a way to get over there. So, they used their vehicle and came over across town, picked me up, and took me over to the place. Then, I took a tour, and they brought me home. The food was good, but they accidentally brought me one of the wrong things."

"I chose Sunrise of Hillcrest because of the longevity of the staff and the attractive gardens and flowers that the residents have access to. So those were two important things. It's a very pretty place. It's pleasant. The staff, a lot of them have been there for 10, 15 years, so it leaves the impression of a stable environment. Her apartment has one bedroom and one bathroom on the first floor. We had lunch there with my aunt, and the food was very good. They had a nice variety of choices on the menu from which to choose. It was very good. I saw a library, kind of a video room, and a separate eating room that you can reserve for families if you want to have a special event in the facility there. There was a little bistro deli kind of thing where you could get coffee."

"The staff really seems to care. The place is brand new, so it is very clean. The staff is great, really excited to get everything going, pay close attention to everybody who comes in. My mom doesn't have any complaints. It is a very positive and happy environment. "

"My brother-in-law was in here for skilled nursing and he eventually got into assisted living for a short period of time. Overall, the staff was pretty good. The facility was nice. It's spotless. He had a one-bedroom apartment and it was very spacious. They got outdoor seating and that kind of thing."

"Firewheel Town Village was nice. It's a newer place. They have a dining room, a Zen Garden, and a gym. The staff was very nice and very professional. The dining room was spacious, and they had some big screen TVs on the wall. Cleanliness and upkeep were good. They don't have individual water heaters though. They have a boiler and I thought that was unusual. Their balconies have outlets on them and that's important for me. I want to put stuff on my balcony that might require power."

"I toured Signature Pointe. They have very nice and courteous employees there. The people that live there are very nice and friendly. The whole environment looked very clean and very nice. The apartments were nice and clean. They had a lot of space. They always had something going on which was good. I enjoyed that. They have a nice lake outside. You can see the ducks and all that, so it's very, very nice."
