My mother-in-law was at Vista Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for 2 months. I liked everything about it. It was clean and it didn't smell like urine. The people were excellent. I didn't eat there, but she raved about the food. It's an older facility, but her room was nice. It had a closet and drawers. They had a very nice and very large dining area with lots of tables and chairs. They had bingo and all kinds of different socials. They played games. If I could have kept her there, I would have. This facility was fantastic. I would just like to add that their staff was great. It was like a family. They cared about my mother-in-law and were very attentive, and I appreciated that very much.

I toured Vista Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. I liked some of the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. The facility itself was older and not accommodating for its patients. One bathroom was shared by two rooms that had two people each in them, and so that made life pretty difficult for the patients. They had very little storage space. They tried hard, but they didn't do a really good job. They were very friendly on the tour. They had therapy for the patients. They had all kinds of activities going on. But it just didn't pan out. It was advertised very well, but it just wasn't very true. The dining hall was nice. It was spacious and well-lit. There were lots of windows. I was told about the amenities. They had someone cut their hair, and they had therapy as well.

My husband has been in Vista Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for a week. It's about 10 or 15 minutes from my house, which is less important than the quality of care that he gets. That nursing home was willing to accommodate some of the requests that I had, and the price was certainly competitive with other places, maybe even better. It's an older nursing home, and it's the only five star Medicare nursing home in our area. In some cases, the staff is difficult to understand because of language barriers. They don't check on my husband often enough, given his disability. As with every place some of the staff is better than others. But I'm disillusioned about the care that I was expecting versus the actual care that he's receiving. They were willing to paint my husband's room to a color that I requested. However, they didn't paint everything else, like the wooden doors to the closet, the okay baseboards under the sink. There's a lot of wear that could have been tended to before we got there since they were painting anyway. They do have a lot of activities. They do have bingo. They had a big Halloween party. They have areas that have tables where your family could come in and they have a pizza party if they wanted to or they have crafts that I've observed. I saw a dominoes game going on. For those that want to participate, I think there's the ability to do that. They have a movie every now and again. They have popcorn and nachos.
