Woodridge looked OK. One of my biggest priorities was that it’s close to my house and my daughter’s house, and they accept Medicaid. It’s more like a hospital as far as the rooms were concerned. They had a large, open dining area that looked like a buffet line; you get a tray and move down a line. The administrator was very nice and sympathetic with my situation with my wife. It was clean and had some outside areas that looked nice.

When Medicare was trying to get hold of somebody at Woodridge to talk to them about my sister, they wouldn't talk to Medicare. I didn't understand, so I tried to find out who my sister's case manager was, but the manager didn't want to talk me. I don't know if there's a policy or what. And that's okay if they just informed me of the policy. I believe it held up my sister's benefits because the hospital expected that Medicare would talk to Woodridge, and we were waiting and waiting. But the director was wonderful, and she was the one who gave me all the information. They're taking care of my sister very well, and she's happy there. It's okay now, it just delayed the approval. And it would be nice to know that ahead of time, so we wouldn't have waited.
