"Arabella of Red Oak was beautiful. The design and everything was immaculate. The staff was very, very helpful. The young lady that I spoke with was Fatima. She and I sat down for a total of one hour. She explained everything to me regarding requirements, and what they do for the residents, and then showed me around. They had so many things for them to do. Overall, I was just very appreciative of how Fatima treated me, how she welcomed me, and how she was willing to help me, even if it turned out that we couldn't place my father there, but if things could have worked out for us financially, we would have chosen that one. The facility was very welcoming. It almost reminded me of a resort in the way that they were treated because the residents there, for instance, when it's time to go to dinner, it's like going to a restaurant. They have a drink order and just different things like that. It made you feel as if you were in a hotel or a fancy restaurant at dinnertime."

"We've looked into Mayberry Gardens, Grand Prairie's assisted living. The tour was very good, and I liked it a lot. I like the facility and the people there. They have four buildings on the same level and it's a very nice facility, but my parents are not interested at this time. They also have memory care there; if the need for care progresses, they could change it. I thought it was excellent. I thought the facilities were clean, nicely organized, and had good people running them. I was very impressed with the buildings, but it was mostly the people and how professional they were. They seemed very good. The rooms are good. We were looking at 1-bedroom apartments with a living room. They're small, but you have to look at the living facility that they're in. You have to look outside the room, and they have other rooms where the residents meet with people from all around. They have recreational areas, a barber shop, and a salon. There was a lady there that's been cutting hair and doing men's hair for years, and it looked very nice. They also have activities that they schedule all the time. We met a lady there, her husband's gone now, and she's like 95 years old. She was so ecstatic and showed us her room and how she decorated it. She's happy there. She's got a daughter who lives close by. For a 95-year-old, she was still very energetic, and she didn't have anything bad to say about this facility. She's one of the original people who has been there since day one. She loves it, and her apartment is set up like her house. I wish I could remember the name of the person who gave us the tour because she was great. There's also a young lady whom we talked to about finances. They had an opening for a larger room, but we were thinking we had to talk to mom and dad first, and they held it for us with no money down for a couple of days. They worked with us so well, it was nice. All of the staff members there were outstanding. They are all on top of it. We checked the dining area, but we didn't try the food at that time. For each building, they have their own managers, cooks, and facility people. They all seemed to be very knowledgeable and very professional, and it was a very clean facility. You walk out of your apartment, and you go out into the living area and the kitchen, and everything's there. If the residents wanted a cup of coffee or a cup of tea, it's all provided right there. They take care of all the medicines, too, so your parents can rely on them in giving their medications and everything, which is nice."

"I toured Morada Grand Prairie for my mother-in-law. When I went there it was early so it was quiet. The place was very clean and neat, and the people were friendly. The staff was willing to answer any questions and offered help with anything. Everybody was very attentive. For activities, I know there was crocheting and things that my mother-in-law likes."

"I will move into The Retreat Senior Living. It was outstanding. They were very nice and cordial. I like everything about it. The cleanliness was very nice, and the dining area was very clean. Also, I didn't have a problem with the parking."

"I'm very pleased with Oxford Glen at Grand Prairie. The care is excellent. It's a very good facility. The staff is excellent. My husband seems to enjoy the food. They have chair exercises, bowling, and games. They keep them pretty busy, and they try to get them to participate. It costs a little more, but it's worth it."

"I visited The Lakes at Grand Prairie senior apartments. They are very professional, very clean, and have a good homey feeling. The apartment was a little small, but it was nice and clean. They have a lot of activities like games and swimming. They also have a calendar of all the social events. The staff who helped me during the tour were very professional."

"I toured Legacy Oaks of Midlothian Senior Living. It's nice and beautiful. They had a lot of activities and things to do, and people working there assisting the patients. It was larger than the other facility. The other facility only holds 16 memory care patients, and we learned that Legacy Oaks holds 23, but they were full and had a waiting list. The staff seemed to be very kind and very concerned with their patient. It felt very home in the memory care area."

"My mom moved into Midtowne Assisted Living and Memory Care. They seem very caring and concerned with each patient. They have a lot of activities to do as a group and individually. The care that she is getting and the attention that she's getting are good. They rally around each patient to get them involved in the group exercise. They did an outdoor exercise, and she was in a wheelchair, so they encouraged them to join in. They show them how to do it and let them do it on their own, and that's how they do it in all activities. They give each person individual attention to learning and being involved. The staff goes above and beyond. The very first night, they asked what she liked and what she was interested in earlier in life. They just wanted to know her and know about her, so I was very pleased with that, starting from the very first day. The food was good. It's been great, and my mom loves it. They have several different areas for the family to come and visit, and something for the family to do. They have a game room, which has a pool table. They have a movie room where the whole family can watch TV or play music, darts, and chess. There is also a dining area for the family if you reserve it, so your family can have dinner with your mom. There's a beautiful area to sit outside. It's a covered patio and a nice area to sit outside."

"We have chosen Iris Memory Care for my uncle because they specialize in Alzheimer's and dementia. They have been attentive to his needs and follow all Covid regulations. He seems to be very happy there. He enjoys the food. He is eating and he is actually gaining weight. They have various activities, too. The thing that I like is that they encourage him to come out of his room and participate. The facility is very clean and the rooms are nice sized."

"Belmont Village Turtle Creek had very large apartments, but it was very expensive. The staff who toured me was nice. It was a very nice facility, and I liked where it was located."

"I toured Cedar Bluff Assisted Living and Memory Care. I met several of the staff, and they were very helpful and very inviting. When you first walk into their community, they have a very warm and inviting entrance, and the feel of it is very, very nice. It's a beautiful place, and walking through it, there are so many different things that I know my parents would be able to take advantage of like meeting others and having things to do to keep them busy and things like that. They had a very nice variety on the menu. The living spaces were very nice, too. They're going to be smaller than what they're used to, but they would be sufficient for a couple. Because it would be for my parents, the unit would probably be a deluxe model with a kitchenette. It would be very helpful because they can still have their own snacks, and if they want to have lunch there, they can provide for themselves and still feel like they're in their own place doing their own thing. The cleanliness and condition of the place was awesome. They were very clean, very bright, very open, very spacious as far as the hallways and elevators and things like that. It was very easy to move around in. From everything I saw, it was very nice, very clean and neat."
