Absolutely love this place. We dealt with other facilities that were a constant struggle on a daily basis. This place, treated me and our loved one with respect common dignity throughout. Absolutely love the town hall effect in the main area. Looks like a little shop fronts. Bethany the coordinating manager kept me updated on our loved ones condition constantly. Our loved one was always kept clean, fresh clothes, hair combed, and room was kept immaculate. The nurse made sure that we never had a problem with medication or treatment. Even though or left one has now passed, they treated her with dignity till the end. Even as family came to visit for the final time, her chef actually came in and fed the visiting family. Way above beyond. The entire facility was always clean and never smelled. A big thing in my book. Our loved one constantly raved about how great the food was too. I hope this helps the next family to check them out. John Simonis POA for our friend/sister

We went to look at Brookdale Salem Oregon. The staff members were very caring and seemed nice. The residents were getting ready to play bingo when we were there. They had a dining area and a salon. Their price is higher than the other facility.

My mother was in Brookdale Salem. I was very impressed from the day that I first walked in. The staff is friendly, thoughtful, and kind. They're so good with the people that are residing there. I would certainly recommend it if somebody has a family member with memory problems. The other day when I was there, a gentleman was showing a movie about locations and asking questions. Most of the people were just sitting there, maybe one or two were reacting; then they all got a bowl of pudding to eat. Another day they were blowing up a ball so they could toss it to one another for mental and physical exercise. As I watched them, some of the people there needed help with eating. They're very kind. I've never heard a sharp word or a voice raised. They're always thoughtful. When my mother passed, the young lady who took care of her was very anxious to know that I did a good job of washing her face, dressing her, and making sure that she looked presentable. I really appreciated that. My mom was not there that long, but she had excellent care. She wasn't eating anymore, so they were offering her sips water. Her food had to be pureed. She had a really nice room, and she had a roommate who was a lovely lady. I really liked that the room was L-shaped. The other lady was in one part, and then my mom was in the other part; that way they're not next to each other. Each one had their private areas. It's expensive, but people are so kind, thoughtful, and easy to be with. They take care of their people. They really care. They have an inside courtyard, and people could sit out there. They didn't let them go out when we had that heat. It was too much to ask them to go out there, even though a lot of the people wanted to be out there. There were several people I saw walking in the halls. They weren't locked in their rooms. They could be out into other areas. Nobody could go outside unless they had somebody let them go out and be escorted. Somebody had to unlock the door. They're safe, and they're very well looked after. I noticed when you walk in (unlike other places that just smells industrial), it doesn't smell like cleaning smells and old smells. It didn't have any of that. It was warm, accepting, and homey. Their decorations were very nice. It was like a little shopping center. The little offices had fences, and it looked like you could go in and buy candy or look at things. It was very sweet the way they have it.

We toured Brookdale Salem for my mom. It was very clean, and they were very friendly. The staff who accommodated me was very friendly, she was very helpful, and she gave us a lot of information. My father-in-law and my mother both have dementia. The room looked like a bedroom you might have at home. It didn't look like a hospital room or a nursing home. It looked like an actual bedroom in somebody's home. Because of COVID, we couldn't see the dining room, but they had just cleaned it in between meals. It was all sanitized and they were very, very thorough about their sanitization. It looked like a little village when you walked through the door. They had an ice-cream place and little stores. Nobody was around because of COVID, but we did go into one of the TV rooms, and there were people sitting in there watching TV together. It looked like a living room.

I had a good visit at Brookdale Salem. Barbie was the hostess that we had, and she was very knowledgeable, quite forthright, and helpful. She showed us around. The room was fine. It was pretty basic and simple, but plenty for the clientele. From what I observed, security seemed good and adequate. They have keypads to get out, so with that type of facility, it would be difficult for memory care patients to exit the building without somebody taking them. I saw a couple of little TV gathering rooms. Everything looked clean and well-kept. Everything cosmetically looked good.

My wife has been in Brookdale Salem. The staff has been incredible in helping her with the transition. Activities are limited because of the pandemic, but definitely they are doing stuff inside. It is very attractive, quite new, very pretty, and very homey, so that's good. It is pretty expensive compared to other places, but it is worth it.

My mother was in Brookdale. It's good, the rooms were spacious, clean, and they had good facilities. The staff was very cooperative and very flexible in how we can care for Mom over there, like bringing furniture or pictures to hang on the wall. The food was adequate.

My dad was at Clare Bridge. The hospital recommended it. It was probably one of the best in town. Activities were really good. They had really good activity director. When I go in during the day, they would be having activities. The one RN that was there was very good. I like her. Food was good. The room was good. It was small but adequate. It had its own bathroom but not a shower. The surroundings were very nice.
