We like Homewood Heights Assisted Living Community because it is a small community with just 44 residents, and everyone we came in contact with has been very caring, welcoming, and helpful. We just had a wonderful feel as soon as we walked to the doors. The food is good. My mom is trying new foods and the staff is very helpful with prompting. So, she's had a good experience so far. Her room is spacious and beautiful. There are lots of windows and the bathroom is large. The facility is very well maintained and taken care of. They also do country bus rides, art classes, exercise classes that she likes, games, and bonfires in the evening.

We went to Homewood Heights Assisted Living Community. I would consider the facility high-class. The people in there looked very happy. It was lunchtime and there was a lot of communication going on. The facility was very clean. The staff was friendly. We didn't run into a whole bunch of staff. The gal who gave us the tour knew the names of the residents, which was important. We were not invited to have lunch there or to come back out for lunch. I didn't dislike it. It was just it started out at a very high price for what they were offering, but it was kind of a bait and switch because it was like $5,000 a month, but then they automatically put you at level one, which was an extra thousand dollars a month. And my daughter-in-law is not really at a level where she needs somebody to administer medicine or things like that, so it was really kind of surprising that they would automatically charge that. The facility was beautiful. It's in a beautiful setting. As far as I can tell, it looked like the residents were happy there.

We toured Homewood Heights Assisted Living Community. For us, the key feature is that it's very homey. You walk in and it feels more like somebody's home than an institution or a facility. We had lunch there, and the food was probably above average. However, we weren't overly impressed with the alternate menu. It seemed very limited. The rooms were of decent size. They're not overly large, but they're more than adequate. The closet space was generous. And depending on which side of the building you're on, some of the rooms have nice views of some trees. It's lush and green basically all around the sides of it, so it was a nice setting. Also, you have your choice whether you'll have bare floors or carpeting, and you get to choose when you move in, which I thought was really nice. A lot of places don't have that. They have a multipurpose room that they use for activities. The grounds are very nice for walking around. The facility itself is quite small. They have an elevator for the second floor. And they have two community spaces where people might gather on their own (not for activities per se) with nice chairs and a table where you could sit and visit them. They also have a fairly large collection of large print books on one wall in this common area, which I thought was very nice. The other key point is that their staff overall has longevity. A lot of people there have been there quite some time, which to me spoke to the management. The marketing person has been exceedingly helpful, not just with viewing the place, but with giving me information about how to help my mom through this transition.

Homewood Heights Assisted Living Community was beautiful. They had a staircase that was nice. The dining area was really nice. I believe they had a separate bedroom with a kitchenette, where my brother could cook something in the microwave. It also had a refrigerator. They showed a place where you could do puzzles. They had a barbershop, but not a courtyard. They had a studio. The staff members were very nice. They even showed us a place where a resident lived. They were all very friendly. The facility is pretty new.

Homewood Heights Assisted Living Community seemed nice. I didn't see any activities going on or anything, but that place did have a nice feel to it. It was my favorite place. The common spaces and the dining area were nice. I didn't interact with the staff or see them working that much, other than the woman who was giving me the tour and she was very nice. The rooms were nice and everything was really clean.

Homewood Heights Assisted Living Community looked like an excellent place. However, they did not have openings available in the time frame we need them. It would be one of our top picks if they did have something. The living atmosphere seemed good from what I observed. I think, my sister's criteria of having a high-end location with appropriate rooms, staffing, and care, seems to match pretty well. The rooms were spacious and well-maintained. They have occupied units, but I would recommend them to anybody. I was there just for a short time, but from what I observed, it looks like I would feel comfortable having my sister live there. The staff were friendly.

My tour at Homewood Heights Assisted Living Community was amazing. They're good people. I wish my dad could be there. They're such nice people there. The residents seemed nice, and it was a nice place, but my dad is a little too far along. There's a language barrier with my dad, and they said it just might be a little too tough for him. They have lots of activities and really good food. The staff was extremely friendly. They all help each other out. They're just a really good team. They're right on the river there, so it's a beautiful outdoor setting. They're just good people. They're people that you would trust your loved ones with for sure. Everyone there was very kind. We went into the big room where everyone meets. They do exercises there.

My mother is in Homewood Heights Assisted Living Community. Their leadership is in chaos, and they might have been great at one point. They're really dropping the ball on their care of the elders in the community. They also are dropping the ball on having trained staff, having enough staff, having the food being handled properly, having leadership in place to actually deal with issues as they come up timely, and communication. In the last week or so, they might be finally getting their stuff together and fixed. It's just really kind of disheartening. It's really not good. She's doing OK there, but I'm just concerned and I need to talk to them. They hired a bunch of new people right as Covid started, but that's not an excuse. They're caring for elderly people, so they should have had trained people on staff. It's just not great. I don't think they're doing anything maliciously. I think they're just really disorganized. The facility is clean. It doesn't smell bad when you walk in there. It's a very beautiful facility, and it seems nicely maintained. The staff members are all generally very friendly and nice. It's got nice rooms. It's a nice place to be. There's a lot of young people there in their 20s, and they don't seem very trained or as professional as I would expect. I know what professional interactions look like. Some of these people look really young and maybe right out of college. I just get the sense of unsurety from them. There's a lack of confidence with them. They're not feeling very sure of what they're doing. Some of them are really on it, but some of them are not sure. It's a mix. I don't know whether they just had a massive upheaval transition. The manager left in May, and the person that they replaced her with had a baby and is on maternity leave. It's a little crazy what's going on there. Finally, they got someone in there from corporate, but it's just crazy. It's not very well run. The food is awful. They're basically feeding them all from cans (from what my mom said). Recently, she said the desserts are good. They served them some fresh food. She said they have activities and when she first got there, and she really enjoyed it. The facility is beautiful. It's probably one of the nicest ones we've seen. It's got a beautiful courtyard.

We have chosen Homewood Heights for my mom. They're signing the contract soon. I put in a deposit. We looked at others, but that's the one my mom liked the best right away. We met the people in-person. They were able to show my mom the room, which is really great. They have patio rose bushes out the window, so she is all excited about that. I don't like roses, but my mom does. It is very pretty. It is a small community of about 40 clients. They gave my mom a taste of their dinner and she just loved it. The people were really nice. The facility was beautiful.

I placed my brother in Homewood Heights and I love it. The staff members that work there are excellent and the activities are good. His room there is excellent as well. Some of their amenities include an activities room, and they have a nice outside area or a garden area. They also have a library. They supply laundry services, room cleaning, and meals. The food there is also excellent. They have good activities but they could have maybe a little more variety, like more excursions. His room is clean, bright, and warm.

My parents are at Homewood Heights. They have a nice staff. I'm there to visit my parents, but I have a very good rapport with the manager. The front desk lady is great. Everybody that you talk to is very helpful and friendly. I think some of the food is really good, but some of them I don't like so much. They have a lot of activities. My mom does the word games, the exercises, and the vine master. She likes it all; she likes the brain challenge games. The place has 42 rooms. It is a small group of people, so it is very much like a community, and that's what my parents like.

Homewood Heights is all assisted living. It’s OK, but kind of pricey, generic, and very basic. Everybody is always nice, especially when they know you’re coming.

My mother has had excellent care within this community for 3 years. I especially appreciate that each prson on staff knows and uses the name of each resident when addressing them. Also, the care plans are carefully reviewed with the resident's family contact each 90 days or sooner if needed. A time and date is mailed to the family contact to make sure it will work. This makes for a great communication between staff, resident and family. It has been good for my mom that this is a relatively small community compared to larger facilities, so she feels at home and not overwhelmed. I drive a distance to see her but would not even think of moving her away from this wonderful setting.

My 92 year old mother moved into Homewood Heights July 6th. She had lived in her private home for over 67 years and alone for the last 11 years. This was a huge change for her. But Melody, Nancy, Sharon and the entire staff, kitchen, care givers and maintenance have been wonderful in making her feel welcome and cared for. She has met many of the other residents who are fun and seem anxious to get to know her. My mother has an eating difficulty and Ricio, the head chef, has wonderfully accommodated this and she is now eating more and gaining back her strength. Thank you all HOMEWOOD HEIGHTS.

My parents moved into Homewood Heights about a month ago. I like the place. It was smaller than average -- only about 44 rooms. My mom and dad really appreciated that. They seemed to be liking their apartment pretty well. We had a little bit of trouble moving in because the lady who was supposed to vacate the apartment didn’t move out. Overall, they are in an apartment that like now, and they are pretty satisfied. I think their activities are okay for people their age. The only thing that I don’t think they do enough is that they only take their buses out shopping one day a week instead of two, and I think they need to do that two days a week. The staff are pretty good. As far as the surroundings, that is one of the reasons why mom chose it. They have lots of trees and grass.

I liked Homewood very much. The building was nice. The rooms were very nice. They had a one-bedroom and two-bedrooms. The food was very good. The people who were there seemed happy and friendly. I think it was within my budget, and I was seriously considering it.

My mom seemed to be happy in Homewood Heights. My brother is near her so he can check on her at anytime. I visited the place and saw that it was real nice, beautiful, well-maintained and quiet. It had a cafeteria and a nice, little visiting area for the family.

This beautiful facility at Homewoods has a wonderful outdoor seating area where residents can enjoy a view of the boats and water sports on the river. The food in the dining room is delicious, and if someone needs a smaller/ larger portion or substitute orders the chef has no problem with it. The exercise room is popular as well as the activities scheduled every day. There is scheduled transportation to medical appointments, shopping and trips to museums and fairs.Residents that want to garden have custom made raised beds available for their use. Pets are allowed and encouraged with a beautiful dog walking area set aside just for the pooches comfort and safety. The health center is on the same property for short or longer stays in the event of a health crisis or a higher level of care becomes necessary. At Homewoods on the Willamette they have everything anyone would need for comfortable truly golden years.
