Of all the facilities we visited, Touchmark at Mount Bachelor Village was the nicest. The other ones were kind of depressing and rundown, quite honestly. Mount Bachelor Village has quite a few programs and it's up to mom to decide whether she wants to participate, but she goes to the stretching programs. They have a theater house there so she can go watch a movie. She's done that on a few occasions. Sometimes she'll go to the weekly social that they hold for her floor. I live nearby, so a lot of times I'll go over and take her for dinner or they have an evening social that a lot of times I'll go to with her. Her apartment is very nice. The only thing lacking is the kitchenette because she's in the assisted living section and they just give her these little kitchenettes that are kind of not very functional. They have a huge refrigerator in there and no counter space to do any food preparation, so I'm not quite sure if it makes sense to have a big, massive refrigerator when you can't prepare any food. You're not going to have food if you can't prepare it and you can't prepare it because there's no counter space. The food is pretty good. As an outsider, I have to pay for my meals, so I find it a little expensive, and the portions are small, but I think the small portions are fine for my mom. The only thing lacking to me is that it's a very expensive facility, and because it's a very expensive facility, maybe one could expect, like my mom's apartment, to have a decent little kitchen in it, but that's just minor. We've had some lack of cohesiveness in the staff, but they're very friendly. They try hard to do a good job, but I think it's a big facility and I think there's a lot of turnover. So some people don't always have the information, that's what I've noticed.

Touchmark at Mount Bachelor Village was really good and nice. I loved the people there. They're lovely. I loved the location. I think the facility is beautiful, nice, and clean. There's nothing bad you can say about it. It's up to date. The staff is amazing. Everybody is just lovely. Liz is great. She's been there quite a while and she's wonderful. They had a bar. They had a lot of educational stuff and tours and so on and I think that's so wonderful. They also have stimulating lectures and great events. Nothing's demeaning. The club is close by. It's great and it doesn't smell.

Very expensive for what you are offered. They say they are the best but they are not. The menu is the same every week and the costa have gone up over 13% over the past 2 years while food quality, activities have been almost non existent.

I have a cousin who lives at Touchmark at Mount Bachelor Village, and I've been there. It's absolutely beautiful. You would have no way of knowing that it's a care facility. I only interacted with the staff in the dining area, and they were all very lovely people. They were very concerned about providing great food and services to their guests. The facility itself was excellent, clean, and well-maintained. It looked brand new and very upscale. I have been there twice for brunch, and the food is like in a high-class restaurant brunch. It was very nice. I asked my cousin about the cost and she informed me that it's extremely expensive. It is for the wealthy and the very wealthy only.

Food is just horrible. It used to be good, but it really an embarrassment to the residents to have outsiders see how bad it is. Don't expect from assisted living. The workers are good. The state laws prohibit some basic care and quality of life. The shortage of staff in this area leaves no time for personal attention. As the most expensive place in town, I would expect premium service.

We think this is an excellent facility and we would consider purchasing a Cottage in 2 years if it were in a better climate. We do not want to live in a winter climate.

We chose Touchmark at Mt. Bachelor Village because the place was clean and beautiful, like a resort. The staff are awesome. My mom loved the food. They had exercise, movies, and trips.

We got my mother-in-law in a memory care program at Touchmark at Mt Bachelor Village. We are very comfortable with them. The staff are beautiful, very caring, and very friendly, and they are 100% for the people that live there. They work very hard because with dementia, you never know what's going to happen with them. She is very happy to be there, and she likes the people. They treat her with dignity, and that was a big issue that we have. If someone wants to go there, I would not hesitate at all. The rooms are a little on the small side. She has got quite a bit in her room -- a twin-sized bed, a big dresser, a table and a chair. They want the people to be out with the others. It's not a fancy bedroom, but it's very adequate, and the bathroom is very big. We did a tour of the kitchen, and we saw them fixing food. The dining room is very open, light, and it has a lot of windows so they can see outside to a patio. If the people don't want to eat inside, they can eat outside on the patio. It's very accommodating. They have all kinds of different activities and different games, and it depends on what the people want to do. Last weekend, they were doing a quilting show. They also have a doctor's assistant that comes once a month. Outside in the other area, they have a place where they do their toenails, and she just got a perm on her hair. They'll walk them in another building for the appointment and bring them back. The head nurse called us everyday the first week to let us know how she was doing. They bend over backwards. I have no issue except they're a little expensive, but you have to expect that.

My wife's parent's are owner's in the river lodge, and are extremely happy and satisfied with touchmark. It's like living at a 5 star resort. Food at the restaurant is excellent, and all other facilities are like wise.

We visited Touchmark because we searched for a place for my parents-in-law. The grounds were immaculate and lovely, although on the expensive side. They had apartments and cottages, and buses that took the residents shopping. Someone came to the apartments to do the cleaning as well as maintenance. A central dining area was located in the middle where the residents were encouraged to eat their meals. There were also a lot of activities for the residents.
