Independent Living Communities in Bend, OR

"I thought that Aspen Ridge Retirement Community was quite nice. My sister didn't have too many complaints, although she thinks it's too expensive. She didn't think the food was that great. Overall, it was a very nice place. My mother-in-law was there too up until she died. I don't have anything to complain about except for the cost, which was a lot more. I think their staff was quite good. When we went there, the staff was really helpful and they were really good with my sister. When the pandemic started she was so bored because they were stuck in the rooms and couldn't even go down to the dining room. She was allowed to go out and help with some things with a mask on. I think the staff was quite nice there. She said they didn't fix things as quickly as she would like, and it wasn't as clean as her current community, but it was still a very nice place. They had bungalows as well, and she had her husband used to live in one. Her complaint was that if she needed assistance she had to call 911. The staff from the retirement center doesn't respond if they're out in the bungalow. I don't think the value was that good. The prices in Bend are sky high."

"At Regency Village at Bend, there's no separation between independent and assisted living. You just add on the care that you want. It's customized and it's done on a point system. The grounds were very pretty, and there were lots of common spaces. The residents were very open and friendly and appeared to be very glad to be there. Kari was very helpful and her follow-up was very good. She sent me an email and follow-up before the end of the day. We just walked through the dining room, and it was spacious and clean. We saw a lot of the activity spaces. We saw that there typically is a lot going on for the residents and even some of the residents teach each other. There is a resident there who teaches watercolor painting."

"I visited Stone Lodge. We were very pleased with it. The facility was good. It seemed like the staff was good, too. The rooms were adequate. Overall, Stone Lodge was good. It was very nice. It was clean, nice, and uptown. It was very good. "

"I came in as a Christmas caroler a couple of years ago to bring up the spirits of the residents that specifically didn't have family to share the Holidays with; I have a good friend that works at Fox Hollow as well. I have always loved this facility and was just more impressed when I went in the building for myself. The facilities were beautiful, lots of open space and landscaping. I was very impressed with the staff and their friendliness. I loved the people and the atmosphere. The building was clean and inviting, making the residents and their families feel right at home. The staff is readily prepared with anything that is needed by the residents be it immediate or not immediate. The food smelled amazing and I am sure that the residents feel like they are really taken care of. I absolutely cannot sing the praises of this assisted-living facility enough. Love it! "

"Brookdale Redmond was very nice. It felt very comfortable and welcoming. The room was very acceptable and very nice. There was just no empty room that we could see, and that was a little disappointing. We had to kind of sneak into one of the resident's rooms. Michelle was wonderful though. She did a great job. They let us have lunch, which was great. My mother thought it would be a fine place for her to live, and we actually put down a deposit."

"We liked the area where it is. They have the activities that I like, and they have a hair salon. The staff has been very helpful and they have everything that we would need."
