My father was transported to Cedar Hill after having a knee replacement. He was not given ice for his knee, he was not up walking or given the required support hose recommended by the surgeon (typical replacement protocol).. When he arrived from Grant Hospital in Columbus, he waited for 9 hours for pain medication. He called me by his cell phone at 1:00 in the morning and 4:00 in the morning stating that nobody would help him. His roommate used a wheelchair to wheel himself down the hallway to get my dad some help. However, this roommate was also having sex with someone in the room with my father in there. I worked with Medicare to get moved as quickly as possible.

The one rating is being very generous. The facility was greatly understaffed. The patient care was horrible and neglectful. One staff member was very unkind. My father was a fall risk & sometimes went to the bathroom unassisted because he could not get anyone to come in his room to help him. The food was horrible & many times cold when it arrived. My father had a bed bug in his clothes at the facility. He was taken home early due to the poor care. He told me please don’t ever send me back to that place, it was horrible. The mobe phones frequently had dead batteries & could not be used. It was a horrible experience.

My great aunt lived at the Apartments at Cedar Hill for several years. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. There were many activities for residents to participate in, such as singing groups and senior athletics. Families were always welcome to visit and share meals. There were decorations for holidays and the common areas were well-kept. The grounds are nice, with lots of tress and gardens. There is outdoor space for enjoyment and activities. Also, the rooms are very nice and accessible for those with limited mobility. They also provide transportation for residents who need to get medical care. I would recommend this facility to anyone who has a loved one needing special care. It is a nice place to live, and residents are well cared for.
