The Best Assisted Living Communities in Washington County, OH

"I visited the Elison Assisted Living & Memory Care of Marietta, and it was excellent. The staff was very attentive. The people who were staying there seemed to be content and happy, going about their daily lives. There was a very lovely community room with a piano, and while we were there. We were about 40 minutes and someone got up, and sat at the piano, and started playing. It must be one of the residents, and it was really lovely. We also went for lunch, and then they showed us around after that. Everyone is friendly. They have games and different things that they offer for different levels of care, depending on what you can do. They do your laundry, they can bring you meals in your room, or you can come to the dining room, depending on your activity level. They have a communal dining room. They also have the memory center for when you start getting further along with Alzheimer's or any form of dementia. The staff members were wonderful and absolutely amazing. They have very nice, friendly, helpful, and very warm people. The facility is laid out well and has easy access. It's laid out like a flower. The main hub is like the center of a flower, and the petals are the rooms or the corridors, where the rooms would be, and everything is off the main hub. Everything is close, everything you would need is right nearby, and you have access outside. You can go sit in the garden, or if you're physically able, you can keep a car there and go out and drive. I personally don't, but some do. The food was great. I ordered a hamburger and fries, and they have a set menu. They have a menu with a given number of items for each meal, and you just pick which one of the five or six items for that meal that they're offering. They cook it fresh. It was very tasty and very well prepared. I was very satisfied with it, and it has nice portions. Everybody seemed to be enjoying their lunch."

"My grandmother lives here. For what she can afford, they take good care of her. Her room is very small but the building is kept very clean. They have activities most days and the food is very good. The staff nurses are conscientious. I would say most employees have their heart in it. "

"My sister will move into Glenwood Community. We did the independent living, but we did the one in the main building, not the cottages. The cottages were too far away. The tour was excellent. They have bent over backward for us. They're very compassionate, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. I only worked with one staff member, but she was outstanding. The facility was very clean and very well kept and it had a lot to offer for activities and things. The dining room was restaurant-style and my sister would have a bigger choice of food options. They have the hairdresser, exercise, housekeeping, anything that she would want, transportation to doctors and shopping, raised garden beds if you want to do a little flower or vegetable gardening, and they allow pets. I could probably think of a dozen more, but that's what comes to mind right now."

"My mother-in-law was a resident of The Wyngate. The food was excellent, and the staff was always nice and tried to be helpful. They don’t offer sufficient training, and they can't deal with someone with my mother's condition. If you're just looking for a place where someone could keep an eye out for your loved one but they're pretty much self-sufficient, then Wyngate would be excellent for them. They don't have a locked down memory area, and they basically don’t cater to that type of situation. They provide all kinds of games and movie nights, they also do skilled activities for the residents, which is pretty awesome. I love the facilities, the building itself is clean, and very well-done. The rooms are all nice, they're all private rooms, everybody can bring their own things, and it's really nice."

"My aunt is at Belpre Landing. It is very nice. I like the community, but we can't afford it. My aunt's room is beautiful. It's a private apartment. She has her own bathroom. Her room is very spacious. She has her own TV and a place for a loveseat. I love all the girls that work here. They have a wonderful lady who does arts and crafts. I like the aspect that the employees are allowed to bring their pets, and it makes it so nice for the residents because the residents look forward to seeing everybody's pets every day."

"The Willows Center has a very professional and caring staff. My mother has multiplschlerosis and after having open heart surgery she could not walk at all. The physical therapist here were more then eager to assist her in gaining leg muscle back to at least be able to hold herself up. The physical therapy room was all up to date with the latest equipment and technology. All of the staff in physical therapy was well trained and eager to assist.The nursing staff in the facility was also excellent. They all were concerned about her rehabilitation and made her feel like home.I would recommend this facility to anyone for rehabilitation or as a nursing home. The grounds of the faility was beautiful also.I would not change anything at this facility it was a great experience. "
