"My grandmother was in an extended stay situation. The Center was glad to furnish her with a private room. They allowed us to bring in her fish tank, personal artwork, pictures of family, television, compuer and extensive collection of books. We were even allowed to host family dinners at holiday times for our very large family! They not only tended to her daytime needs but in the evening would sit with her while she was lonely. Her room was dubbed "the hang out"! The staff truely becane an extension of our own family and we keep in touch still. When she became critically ill they provided every accomodation to our family to allow us to be with her. Snacks, drinks, allowing us to stay past visiting hours, honoring our request for hospice. Upon her death several staff came to the funeral. We donated the fish tank to the home to allow the other residents to enjoy its beauty. "

"My mom is in Ohio Valley Health Care. It's s a very nice place. They have a big cafeteria, and the food is excellent. The maintenance place has a garden, and they raise a lot of their own food. They have a big, outdoor shelter where they have a big grill; they have outdoor picnics and stuff like that. They have a big rec room where they have different activities daily. The physical therapists have their own physical-therapy rooms in the rehab facility. It's a really good place. The only concern I had is the fall risk. There are not a lot of rails on the beds to help keep patients in -- or there are just no restrictions there as far as that goes. With her being a risk fall risk, I was just more worried about her falling somewhere and nobody being around. I haven't had the food, but I've heard that it is excellent out there. Before COVID, you could come out and eat with your family members. I don't know if it's really restaurant style; you can't order everything, but they have a selected menu. You could order different things that you wanted. I haven't been in the room; I know she has a like a half-bath, and it has a commode and a sink. She has a little dresser stand and cable TV. You can get private or semi-private rooms, and she's in a semi-private right now. The staff seem to be excellent."

"Mom stayed in Riverside Landing Nursing and Rehabilitation from August until November. I would say that all in all, it was as good experience as she was going to get for a nursing home. I thought the girls were especially caring, especially Alison and Vanessa who were in her room often. The folks were super and really did care about Mom, and I appreciated it. The food was on the poor side; Mom didn’t like it at all, but she didn’t like too much anywhere. "
