"This assisted living home is a new facility, but simply populated by those moved from the old county home. My grandfather is living there and he is given great care being a retired navy veteran. The staff consists of numerous RNs and doctors, with countless CNAs assisting with the day-to-day tasks. They have recently had to install a code on the door to prevent individuals from running out of the facility after an incident where an alzheimers patient stumbled out and almost got to the road in front of the building. "

"The interactions with staff were optimal. My mom had a one week stay that went very smoothly. The little things made a difference such as the bird feeder outside. Per mom, they answered her call light promptly, gave her pain medication as she needed & were very polite. The food was acceptable related to a balanced meal. She especially liked the ham. She liked her facility news bulletin & the Carmel corn that was passed out. All went well from admission to discharge. Thank you for making an emotional time run smoothly. "My sister was in two assisted living facilities before Emerald Pointe. Since she needed nursing care, she was transferred to Emerald Pointe. It is a nursing home like no other. Her room is just like the assisted living facility's. Large private room with a big bathroom. She was sick at the assisted living facility and every time I visited, I asked that the doctor examine her. Nothing.... The first day she arrived at Emerald Pointe, she had a complete medical workup and they called to let us know of medication changes. Staff is wonderful, friendly and caring. If or when I need nursing care, this is where I want to be. Absolutely no complaints."

"My grandfather needed home health care after his surgery to remove bladder cancer. He was also a stroke patient prior to that, losing his ability to speak and use his right arm and right leg, so he required a good deal of attention. The staff that came into the home was very friendly and was very open to the fact that he needed more attention than many of their other clients. They did not once complain or make a sour face when asked to do anything and they always did everything with a smile on their face. One afternoon, a nurse asked me if there was anything else she could do while she had some down time. This is a good measure of a successful company. The nurse did not want to be sitting around while she had some down time, she wanted to be helping out even more than she already was. "

"1) The call buttons only light up a light above there door. So no way to tell them what you need or if you need immediate assistance. You could lie there for a while before anyone see the light and comes to you. 2) My sister had lost her dentures before she went in & they fed her a regular diet. She would eat mashed potatoes or pudding. No one evidently charted her tray or it would have shown she was not eating. No other nutrients such as Ensure or broth were give to her. 3) Her condition was worsening & I had to ask ..really demand that she have blood test done. Right after she went into a high level ammonia level coma. Doctors come in before patients are awake & do a walk through. After ER here we had her transported to Ohio State where the Doctor stated she was suffering from malnutrition and that her condition was not being monitored or they would have increased her medicine to prevent the coma. 4) Place looks nice & is clean...but the medical care is horrible. My sister was there for rehabilitation & dies withing a few weeks of leaving there. "

"The third shift staff is very unprofessional and does nothing for the patients. A family member laid in bed for 5 hours and was not checked on once. She then pushed her call button and two hrs later, a first shift aid that had just arrived for work, came in her room and helped her. She was soaked and had urinated and had to lay in it for hours. This happened 10/13/23. This is unacceptable and unbelievable! Her entire experience has been like this. This Facility is not up to operating standards. I would not recommend sending any loved ones here. "

"My great aunt lived at the Apartments at Cedar Hill for several years. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. There were many activities for residents to participate in, such as singing groups and senior athletics. Families were always welcome to visit and share meals. There were decorations for holidays and the common areas were well-kept. The grounds are nice, with lots of tress and gardens. There is outdoor space for enjoyment and activities. Also, the rooms are very nice and accessible for those with limited mobility. They also provide transportation for residents who need to get medical care. I would recommend this facility to anyone who has a loved one needing special care. It is a nice place to live, and residents are well cared for. "

"My Mother stayed there for s month, I would choose to use this nursing home again. My mother was very well cared for, clean, well feed and treated very nice by all the employees that came in to contact with her.The on;y thing that I can say that needs improvement was the size of the rooms.they need to be bigger for 2 people to share."

"I have had 3 family member reside at this facility over the years. I have personally witnessed the love and tender affection each and every staff member had towards the residents. The facility called my family with every medication change every status change and even to yell us that my family member was having a good day and to let us know that they were doing well. The facility is clean, smells wonderful and looks like a home. The administration team is wonderful and I cannot say enough about them. I adore the staff and the caring atmosphere while we visit. It is so wonderful to rest every night and know that my family member is getting the care and attention they receive while I am there as well as when I am not. I trust this facility with the care of my loved ones and I would not recommend any other facility in the area, as I have visited and toured these facilities prior to placing my family member at Oak Pointe. If you want your family member to be loved and cared for as a family member I recommend this facility. There are not enough stars to show my appreciation. "
