What I like best about Genesis Village is that they care about the residents. My mother is there and they make sure that they check on them daily. They've got a routine where they make sure that they visit or see every one of the residents daily. The food is tasty. There are not very many complaints there. It's a great facility. It's got a swimming pool and a sauna. It's a very good community for my mother because she loves playing cards and games, and they have large rooms for multiple groups. They have a lot of interactive activities like Wii bowling, and she loves that. So, they always try to keep things active and busy. They often do outings to the grocery stores and such. They have a salon on staff there, so my mother can get a haircut and she doesn't have to leave the property. Everything's within the community. They even have a foot doctor that comes there monthly and they have a lot of services that are offered that can be utilized, too. I really can't think of any negatives. It is exactly what they are, an independent living. It's very suitable. They do a good selection process for employees, making sure that they're going to be caring and considerate. They just have a wind tunnel issue with the building and it's pulled down a lot of the ceiling tiles from the front, and they're a little slow to make the repairs. Other than that, they're awesome and very helpful. They've been very accommodating to my mother and making adjustments when needed. They also have outside events like car shows and a band that comes in and plays. They keep them not only busy but entertained. They worked out a very good deal for my mother based on her income at the time. So at this point, the cost has worked out in her favor. It's an awesome facility with great access, great entertainment, and great food. It's in our budget and it's close to our home.

I’m very happy with my room. Spacious and handicapped accessible, the price is $2900 + per month. The food is very bland and not home cooked. I wish they would update the salad bar. The hot bar food is always cold! Not many residents eat lunch and dinner anymore. The residents, front door staff and LE staff are wonderful. I’m looking for another residence in Toledo. Genesis Village needs a good cleaning and update.

I like that the Genesis Village is very spacious. The hallways are wide. You don't feel like you're in a home. It's just really open, and that's the best part I liked about it. The price is right as well. You're in the middle of the community, you have access to everything, and you're allowed overnight guests. They have private rooms for guests. They have a banquet area that you can use anytime for a party, and you can bring your family together or whatever. The people are nice. As I traveled, I visited six different places and all the other ones seemed to be in a country, and this, as they say, is in the city, and I'm familiar with the area, so I just felt more at home there. It was very, very clean. It was the only facility that had a pool and a hot tub. I was very interested in the pool for exercising. The dining area was very big and open. It's very formal-looking. I liked it. I didn't feel closed in. It was not like a dining hall; it was like a banquet room.

We went to Genesis Village. We were very, very happy with that, but that's too expensive for what we were looking for. But they were exceptionally nice. They seemed to have a Christian background, which was good, and the place is beautiful, really, really nice. I believe our interviewer was the owner of the establishment and his wife was working there too. I believe he was involved in the ministry. They were nice people. They had everything. They had a little library, they had a little movie theater. They had food, three meals, and beyond. They had housekeeping. I think it might have been only twice a month, but the place was really clean and the people were very nice.

Genesis Village was very impressive. It is an old Holiday Inn, and it's beautiful. I would give them a five out of five in everything. It was just an independent living facility. They don't have skilled care, that's why we didn't go there. I did eat there, and the food was very good. The staff was accommodating.

Genesis Village was nice. However, it was more of a retirement place, and my brother is going to need some care. It's a big place. Everybody we met was nice. The rooms were all nice, and they're all about the same price. It's a hotel that has been renovated. There is a tower that I believe is mostly independent living, and then there is the ground level. My brother likes the fact that you could get a view because it's a hotel and it went up to like seven stories. We only met with the coordinator -- the person who gets people in there -- and she was very nice.

The staff at Genesis Village was very informative. The demonstration apartments were very clean and well taken care of. The outside was well kept, and it's a well-maintained building. It's all independent living.

I was impressed with Genesis Village and with the people. They've got an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, and a movie theater. I liked the way it was laid out. I had two meals there, which they served buffet style, and they were good. The service was good. The staff was very helpful and explained a lot of things. They had a group exercise program and a weekly sheet of things going on.

Genesis Village was a very nice place. They serve three meals a day. They have a big swimming pool and they do water aerobics. I would recommend it. The apartment we saw had a bedroom, a closet, a bathroom, a small kitchen, and a living room. They have a library, a game room, and a little garden where they plant things. You can use the swimming pool anytime you want to. The lady in the office was really nice. They were very friendly and they knew everybody's name.

My parents moved into Genesis Village last March. It is a renovated hotel, but it is very clean and well taken care of. My parents' apartment is a two-bedroom unit. It is basically three hotel rooms that have been made into an apartment, so it is a good-sized unit. My parents have two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large living room with a small kitchenette but no stove. Everybody is very helpful. It has been very good. My mom is able to get around a lot easier because so many things are accessible indoors, and my dad is able to leave and go do things. He can leave my mom there because there are other people around if she needs help with anything. They have a movie theater, a swimming pool, and a hot tub. They have exercise classes, different games, and entertainment, so it seems like they have activities all the time. Residents get three meals a day as included with the rent. The food is very good. It is buffet-style for lunch and dinner, and continental style for breakfast. They also have coffee and juice available all the time. The only downside to Genesis Village is that, because it is big, it is a ways to go from their apartment to the dining room, so my dad will use the wheelchair to take my mom.

Genesis Village is a great place to live. There are lots of activities, a pool, whirlpool, and movie theater. We have frequent music performances on-site. Management is prompt and efficient. The food is better than other senior communities I've visited in terms of variety, choice, and taste.

There were things about Genesis Village that I liked and didn't like. I liked that they had a pool and a hot tub, but they didn't have a full kitchen. The owner was very nice. I had lunch with him and thought the buffet food was good. However, they didn't have an acceptable elevator. Their lift left something to be desired. I also didn't like that they didn't have levels of care.

Genesis Village was all right. The studio apartments were OK. The staff who assisted me was fine and answered all my questions upfront. Just as we were walking through, there was bingo and an exercise class going on. The dining area looked fine. It was a converted hotel, and the rooms were small. Everything was spread out, so you have to walk a mile to get to anything -- which was a problem for me.

Genesis Village was very nice but too expensive. The environment was OK. The rooms were very nice. The staff seemed very friendly. They were underoccupied when I was there, so I think they had a lot of staff. They have lots of amenities, like a swimming pool and a movie theater. The pool was awfully nice.
