When mom turned 100, we told her it was time to give up the house and be closer to her children. (To show mom's thoughts, she had repeatedly said "Put a bullet in my head before you put me in a home. I mean it!") We convinced her to give Worthington Christian Village a two-month trial. It has been fantastic. From first contact, everyone has been incredibly friendly and helpful. If you have been close to someone in a facility, you know that it is the people who make the difference. The people are amazing. Mom has been there 9 months now and has not asked to go anywhere else. In a typical week, she plays bingo twice, attends 3 exercise classes, plays cards (bridge), and usually does one other activity. There are a lot of outings and activities that mom could do if she wanted. The building is not new, but very well maintained. We have yet to put in a maintenance request before 3pm that was not addressed the same day. The food has been great when I have eaten there. I just can't say enough good things about WCV. When I first toured WCV, I asked as many residents as I could what they thought. There was unanimous praise. I think it is just a case of really good people doing really good work (great volunteers, too!)

Worthington Christian Village wasn't quite as up to date. I could tell some of the furniture and the décor was a little older, and the apartments were smaller. It was less expensive, which was very attractive to us. They got nice beautiful grounds. It is a Christian-like atmosphere because it's tied to Worthington Christian Church (where many of the parishioners volunteer). When I was talking to some of the residents, they really appreciated the volunteers coming in. There was a very good atmosphere. As far as the look of the building, the upkeep, and the furniture and things, it was just a little less.

Worthington Christian Village was very nice, very peaceful, and it was back off the road. It had quality staff, based on their response and for how long they had been in their job. It was a nice facility. Unfortunately, they would not take pets. The sample that they showed was a nice room with very good price. It was bright with good closets. We were looking for one bedroom.
