"My mom is a resident of Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center. It's an excellent facility, which is a little bit too much for her right now. They're wonderful there. The whole place is fantastic, not only the staff, but also the facilities. It's a beautiful place. They have a patio outside. They have really good therapy. They also have an activities room. They have activity aides and they get the residents involved."

"I have to say that his stay in this place is 100% better than where he was at the hospital. It's clean the staff is awesome and the food is great. They really are working to help him as well as help take care of him. In the hospital it took forever to get someone to help him shower or use the bathroom and now when you say you need help the come and help right away. The most important thing is that they treat the people like they care and like people. Now we are all happy with where he is. It is a great place. "

"My mom moved into Manorcare in Kingston and she stayed for only 18 days. There are three people to a room, which is a little disconcerting, but other than that they take good care of my mom. The staff and service was very professional. They had quite a few activities that worked out well for everybody else. The cleanliness of the place was good."

"A nice facility, staff very friendly, with the exception of horrible weekend contract nursing. It's always advisable to visit loved one as much as possible. Squeaky wheel. Clean and cared for. Always feel welcomed. One of the nicer ones in the local area."

"My father is currently at Timber Ridge for physical therapy because he had fractured his hip. I love it, although it is a little pricey. He's been in private and semi-private rooms depending on his mood and irritability, so it's very accommodating there. I love how clean it is. I'm very satisfied. The staff is compassionate and thorough. I don't know how they maintain a smile. Even working just eight hours around some of these people is very difficult, but these are amazing people. I just don't care for the food."

"Sincere Thank You to Nurses, Staff, and Administration who helped to care for my Godfather / Uncle at Mountain City Nursing & Rehab Center in Hazleton, Pa. My Uncle was there for almost 2 years, and was on Hospice the last few months of his stay. My Aunt was so impressed with the Nursing Care that my Uncle got and how she, his wife, was treated. The communication and support was excellent. My Uncle was a wonderful and yet difficult man to care for - my Aunt had him at home in a hospital bed for 10 years before admission there. The Nurses and Staff treated him with kindness and dignity despite his actions and behaviors. Even through CoVid, my Aunt was there as much as she could, to visit and feed him. She observed the Nurses & Staff giving meds, moving, toileting, washing, and changing him. They were always so kind. When he passes away, the staff knew her, hugged her, and shared the pain of her loss. She has even told us that is where she wants to be when it is no longer safe for her to be at her own home. So very grateful, God Daughter / Niece who is a Nurse. "

"If at all possible stay away from this place. Care is horrible, staff ignorant and conditions are unreal. My loved one was not able to move. They would put water where it was unreachable, meds not given on time, call bell out of reach, food terrible and put out of reach before taken away fell out of bed four times and was hurt, Just to mention a FEW of the many things a complained about. Finally she was admitted to the hospital then to hospice where she passed in peace."

"Wesley Village was very clean. The staff was very friendly, and everyone that we have met seemed to be very caring. We were looking for a place for my cousin in the assisted living section. It didn’t have a kitchenette, but it was a spacious room. They had a lot going on every day with a good selection of activities. This was where she wanted to go. Out of the places that we looked into, it seems to be the nicest. They had beautiful grounds and a really nice view of the mountains; you get to see the sunset over the mountains. "

"Saint Luke's is very clean and well maintained for a nursing home. To my experience the nurses are very professional and mostly very organized as a whole unit. My aunt fell twice at other homes and was moved from Mountain City (also in Hazleton, PA) and the former state nursing home in Weatherley, PA. She never fell again at St. Luke's and even regained talkative moments, smiles and her old usual zany sense of humor. Surprisingly the activities really do bring the whole room of residents together and that is a rarity worth mentioning. My aunt has grown very quiet with fading health, but the campy fun sometimes does liven her up for little burst of energy. Perhaps an eye roll! I don't think that would have been possible without protective watch. My mother and her family frequently make visits and any problems were always met with humble calm cooperation. Nursing homes in general are really the type of place where the environment can gain a negative reputation. Smells, sights, and the overall uncomfortable feel of a hospital are common. Anything a staff can do that changes that reputation in my mind is worth much more praise than 150 words. "

"I was confronted with having to choose a nursing home for my mother. The closest home to where we live was Highland Manor. It always had a good reputation, but it's a nursing home. Nursing homes are where people go to die, right? Wrong! I was so wrong. While that is a reality we all face and is necessary, who wants to think of that. My mom needed short term rehabilitation and I had no idea that Highland Manor provided that. Even the hospital staff had tried to move us elsewhere. Anyway, we chose Highland and what a great decision that was! The care was fabulous, there were virtually no odors and the therapy staff couldn't have been any better. My mom quickly got better and went home. Thank you, Highland Manor staff! We couldn't have been any happier and now it's nice to know that Highland does short term rehabilitation. "

"Forest Hills has been under new management for over a year, now. I had 2 family members there at two different times, both of whom have since passed away. The care and attention they both received- I couldn't be more pleased. Both were complex medically, and having an on-site provider was beneficial. The staff was attentive and caring, the physical therapists and activities were great. I have no complaints."

"The Mercy Center Skilled Nursing & Personal Care in Dallas is on the campus of College Misericordia. Now, that was really like my first choice. The facility there is beautiful. They have a full church on the campus. It is a very, very clean, very nice facility. I was impressed, you know, when I had gone there and was going to place Mom there. But unfortunately, the way that they handled the situation, I don't think they're as qualified to handle dementia care. But for assisted living, or anything like that, it was excellent. They even have an outdoor pool there, and a beautiful patio area. To me, it was like you were going into a really fancy hotel. They even have a gift shop there, they have a church, a beautiful reception area, and the outdoor area grounds are beautiful. It was really a very, very well-manicured, and well cared for facility. So, I would recommend that for anybody else, but for dementia, I would look into that a little bit further. I liked it too that they accepted Medicaid, they had a skilled nursing unit also, a whole floor, and it was like walking into a hospital. That was one of the concepts I liked."
