Failed to recognize a clear change in mental status. If it wasn’t for the quick action of my sibling, they could have killed my loved one. Had to go through a lengthy hospital stay because of their incompetence

My dad is in a skilled nursing home at Mountain Top Senior Care. I have no problems with them. Everything seems to be OK. He has his own room, and it is clean. The place is decorated nice and clean. It has a nice environment too. They have a nice little courtyard where the residents can go outside when the weather is nice. It is a really nice place.

I think this is a great facility! The staff all seem to really care about the residents and go out of their way to make them more comfortable. Also, the community is very involved and often groups suh as girl or boy scouts, youth groups, etc. will come in to visit for the afternoon doing a "adopted grandparent" program or come in for Christmas caroling and sometimes even perform little skits and songs. From what I have seen they arrange a good deal of social events for the residents as well. In addition to the socializing aspects of this nursing home it is also very clean and does not have that dreaded "nursing home smell" that most think of when they think of visiting their friends and family in a nursing home. I have a few friends who have worked at this facility and they all have nothing but good things to say about the staff and management.

The place was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Each time I went there, alone, or with family and friends to visit my grandmother there was always a pleasant experience. The grounds and building are well kept and the staff is always very nice. The facility is secure as well as the parking lot is centrally located. The waiting room is well kept with a nice selection of magazines and television to keep you and your family entertained. When asking my grandmother if she liked her stay at the facility she said that she did. She was to other facilities in the past where the staff was not always as friendly. After she had passed the facility was very nice about everything and sent a sympathy card to our familys home. I would say that after visiting there many times that the majority of the residents seem to be pleasant and happy with the care that they are getting. I would definitely say this is a great nursing home.

My grandmother is currently a resident at the Davis Manor Assisted Living facility in Mountaintop, PA. Our family decided it was time for her to move there after she had several falls at home, as well as the fact that her mind was not as sharp as it used to be. She reluctantly moved in and on the first night, her room was moved because she was paired with a nasty roommate who started a fight over the bathroom door being left open. Over all, the facility is nice and made to feel like home. All three meals must be eaten in the dining room with the other residents, which I feel is a good rule, because my grandmother would isolate herself if she could. All of the nurses on the floor seem very nice and caring. However, sometimes the nurses work 12 hour shifts, which I feel is wrong. By the end of the shift, they are tired and more apt to be impatient with the residents or make mistakes. The only big problem my family has experienced with my grandmother in Davis Manor care is the fact that the nurses allow her to clean. For her whole life, my grandmother was a home maker who did nothing but cook and clean. She can barely walk but still insists on cleaning her room weekly, although it is cleaned for her. The nurses willingly give her cleaning supplies, probably because she begs for them and the nurses just want her out of their hair. They have given her a vacuum cleaner to use which I feel was a dangerous move. Not only was she in danger, but both her and her roommate could have tripped over the cord. Other than that, I feel like my grandmother is comfortable, safe, and content at Davis Manor. There is always an activity to participate in every day, and although my grandmother does not, it is nice for the other residents. I would have no problem recommending this facility to someone else.
