"My mother has been living the for three and a half years. I visit her every day. Generally, she recieves good service there. For example, sometimes she is eating when I arrive and she likes the food a great deal. There is a variety of foods available and they tailor the meal to the needs of each patient. The nurses do a good job of assisting those who need help with feeding themselves. The staff has been generally curteous and friendly to me during my visits. I've seen my mother recieve physical therapy here and I was happy to see that they were helping my mother regain some leg strength after a recent hospital stay.If I had to say anything negative abhout the location, it would be that I have observed nurses on occasion not being very responsive to toileting needs and they sometimes take a while to respond to call lights. Recently, they have also been renovating the parking making it difficult for me to visit. "

"My father was at The Pines at Poughkeepsie Center. It was beneficial for him. He received OT and PT and was kept very busy. The nurses and the people that came into his room were very good and seemed very caring. My father didn't usually like the food, though. He was on a diabetic, low-sugar, low-salt diet, so a lot of the food was bland. "

"I thought this nursing home was relatively nice. The rooms did not seem overcrowded and there was enough room for each resident's personal items. Some of the dementia patients caused there to be a slight smell of urine on some of the more severe floors. Overall, however, the home was very clean, and there were many signs posted that urged visitors to wash their hands and to avoid visiting when they were feeling ill, as to keep germs away from the residents. Whenever I visited, there seemed to be many activities for the residents to take part in, including games and religious services. Sometimes, I was able to participate in the games with my grandmother, who was a resident. There seemed to be many nurses on staff and they all seemed to be polite and kind to the residents. The facility was not extremely expensive, so I think that it was worth what we paid for my grandmother's care. "

"I looked at Waterview Hills in Purdys. It was last fall when I went there, but it was very nice. They took us down to a lower level, and they had one floor that smelled a lot like urine, and I didn't like it. They need to improve on the cleanliness of it. It looked like you're on a cruise ship in there. They had nice cafeteria, and there were nice tapestries on the wall. It was very nice. The staff was very good. They had a beauty parlor, they had a gym for physical therapy, they had a big common room, and in the common room, they had a fish tank and a library. It was very nice."

"The staff at Paramount is wonderful. I especially want to thank Stephanie the social worker for being so kind and patient not only with Ellen Dupaw the resident but also with my 90 year old parents who visit her everyday. The women who care for her on a daily basis as far as bringing her lunch and caring for her daily needs joke with her and make her laugh which is the best part of her day. Lena at the nurses desk helped me with a health proxy form for a half our. She was not familiar with the form and it is not her job but she still took the time to help me even with patients in front of her desk and her buzzer going off continuously. Thank you all. "It's a very quick provider. All the nurses were wonderful and the occupational therapist and physical therapist were great. It's just the one aide that we had, but she's no longer taking care of my mother. My mother stays there for physical therapy. She's having surgery on both knees, so after the surgery she will be at the nursing facility of the Field Home until she can go home. Everyone's taking good care of her there and I call every day to make sure she's taken care of. I'm there every weekend. I would suggest though that they take my mom outside for some fresh air everyday a little bit. She does tell them that but they said they're understaffed. At least spending a few more hours outside and not keeping her in her room because she gets lonely. She can't walk. I don't have other complaints other than that. It's a clean place. The atmosphere is pretty good. The staff are great! It's just sometimes you get a nursing aide and they don't like their jobs too much. They don't do good of a job, but you get people like that everywhere. Otherwise, everybody is very good. "

"The facility was welcoming towards family members, and made accommodations for visiting relatives as needed, including a very well-equipped game room which visitors (particularly younger visitors) were allowed to use when the resident was indisposed for one reason or another. The nursing staff w as patient with the residents, and also intervened on behalf of visitors in a few situations, notably when a resident possibly suffering from dementia vehemently yelled at a child for changing the channel on the communal TV which was not in use prior to the child remotely turning it on. Care seemed to be adequate for its residents, and no negligence was evident in our case, but they were not immediately in touch with us when an accident would occur, such as cracking her pelvis during a fall or some other similarly worrisome event. Other than the need for more communication between the facility staff and families, I found the facility well run and on top of most things. "

"The first thing I want to say is that never when I visited and I never called ahead, were there residence just hanging out in the hallway with no one nearby. My mother with advanced Alzheimer’s was always dressed in matching clothes with her hair neatly combed. Her room was always spotless. The nurses were friendly and kind. I tell everyone if you have a loved one to send them to Hancock Hall."

"We moved my dad to The Emerald Peek for rehabilitation purposes early in March. After talking with them, we found out that we could actually keep him in the skilled nursing facility since we were very impressed with what they did. The staff is excellent and treat my dad like he's their grandpa. They constantly give him attention and take care of him very well. My dad seems to be much better, much more attentive, has a smile on his face, and is talking with everyone. He's really doing well in this place, so we're happy to have him there. I didn't try the food but my sister and mom ate with my dad a few times, and the food was fine, and they adjust it to his liking. They make sure that there's nothing that he has to really chew on aggressively. My dad's room is not nearly as pretty as some of the assisted living places since it's a very basic double room, and he's with somebody else. They have a TV and a few chairs in there. It's more like a hospital room but it's very comfortable it works for him very well. The place is a little dingy and not the prettiest looking place around, but their service is great and excellent. They actually get him involved in activities like singing, music, and dance. They also have chair yoga and physical therapy. It's pretty expensive, though."

"My Mom was on the 3rd floor in rehab. Everyone in Physical Therapy were great with her. She was there for 1 1/2 years. The Nursing Station on the 3rd floor were wonderful to her. When she first arrived she needed Therapy to regain her strength after a very bad fall. The Nurses & Nurses Aides especially (Nicole), all cared for her with patience and compassion. My Mom always said on a scale of 1-10, they were a 12... My interactions with the Staff was always helpful and informative. Thank you"

"Some of the workers were vary polite others obviously were not. I personally was surprised with some of the workers they had working in this facility as they did not look presentable enough to hold a position in that sector. When I say that I am referring to Neck and full arm tattoos of which were showing, big piercings on nose, ears, and lips. I also was sadden the minimal amount of people who stayed at this facility full time were actually allowed to go outside. On the other hand, the building was keep fairly clean, the facilities bathrooms were clean, and they had a nice environment when you first walked into the building. The Kitchen looked a little to outdated, and should be remodeled, and several of the workers did not wear hair nets at all times which I feel is necessary. The Building is Big, but not large enough for having over 120 patients living there full time. I would hope that they would in time either look for a better larger building, or remodel the building a bit to allow for rooms to be a little larger, and for the elevator area to have more room as well. "I was reluctant to leave my elderly father at any nursing home or rehab facility because I never had an experience with these facilities and thought he would be unhappy and scared to be away from our family. But, dad needed the care that I could not offer while recovering from a stroke. Fortunately, Bethel provided him with excellent care. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The services offered got my dad back to being independent so he could come home after two weeks. My father talks positively about his pleasant experience, even though he admits to giving them a "hard time" when he started. Bethel embraced his stubborn and non-cooperative attitude and managed to get him to enjoy his time there. Thank you to the staff at Bethel for helping my family during this challenging time."

"My husband will be admitted on Monday to Wilton Meadows, but a couple of years ago, I was there for 20 days. This past fall, my husband had a stroke and was in intensive care at the hospital, then he was sent to Wilton Meadows for 20 days. It’s a very large, well-kept place with little patios outside where people could go and little areas with nice furniture inside for people to come out of their rooms and sit with visitors. You could go out there with relatives and friends and have a meal or a cup of coffee. My first impression was that it was very clean. I thought the staff on the whole was wonderful. The physical therapy department was fantastic. I loved my main nurses and most of the nursing aides. The admissions people were just wonderful and very caring. "
