Staff is outstanding. They genuinely care about the residents. My mom was in the memory wing for over a year and they were fantastic.

About Pope John Paul II Care and Rehabilitation Center in Danbury, Connecticut
A residential setting in Danbury, CT, is home to the Saint John Paul II Center, a 141-bed rehabilitation, memory care and long-term care community. The spacious grounds surrounded by trees features a water garden and a view of a small lake. A fenced courtyard contains trees and shrubs, flowers, benches and paved paths. At Saint John Paul II Center, person-centered assessments and care planning optimize residents’ capabilities and health maintenance. Memory care staff undertake a certified course in dementia care. Physical, occupational and speech therapists and a well-equipped gym help to regain and maintain functional health, and an on-site nurse practitioner sees to health care needs and prescriptions, while 24-hour nursing staff assists with personal daily activities such as dressing, bathing and toileting. Medication reminders and administration is part of nurses’ responsibilities. Physicians are on call, and podiatrists visit regularly. The center provides an indoor setting that attracts residents seeking socialization and activities or quiet, contemplative space in addition to the inviting outdoors. A sunroom with views to the garden and comfortable common areas are favorite gathering spots for friends and family. Options for dining include a lovely dining room or in-room meals. A gift shop, housekeeping and laundry, and a chapel are just a few additional amenities. To learn more about this provider’s license and review other available state reports, please visit: State of Connecticut License Lookup

They do not take vital signs ever. Their machines are broken. They do not have an wound doctor who visits a few times a week. It is generally dilapidated and old.

My mom has been here for a year. The aides are terrific. the nurses are mostly okay. The APRN is very overworked. The doctor who is medical director is rarely communicative. Mom was having trouble breathing? WE, the family, suggested a visit to a pulmonologist. This is skilled nursing? The administrative staff is for the most part polite but totally incompetent. Requested that my mom have her teeth cleaned in May? It's October, and we're still waiting. After all these months, they finally deigned to make a phone call to the dental service and were told there was an unpaid bill (there was not). We will be moving her shortly. Pastoral care and the visiting Geriatric Psychiatrist are great!

The appearance of the place was nice each resident has a lot of room to move around in there room. No to old fashion some what up to date they keep on getting better. The staff is pretty friendly alot of really nice girls. They have a board where visitors can write something about the employees there. They have a lot of activities for the residents to take part in. They also have a salona unit where residents that need extra attention are cared for they to have there own activities that they take part in. The night time secretaries are always really nice the morning ones are all more uptight. its pretty big facility can accommodate for 100+ residents.
