The staff in the Memory Care Unit is the best of the best. From the day we arrived till my Fathers passing they went out of their way to accommodate our family. My Dad received excellent care."

"Premier Estates of Three River is very good to us. They helped my wife get Medicaid-approved. The rooms are semi-private and private. They're fairly large. The rooms all have individual showers. They have a memory care unit as well as a three-bed unit."

"My mom is at the Harrison Trail Health Campus Nursing Homes. I have only good things to say about it; we've had no complaints. She loves the place, she loves the workers, and she loves the residents. She says everyone is nice and the food is really good. It's very nice and clean, it's a newer facility. They have a lot of activities; she joins in on everything. They keep the residents busy basically all day long to keep them out of their rooms, so they're really out and about in the gathering spaces, or out on a field trip, or outside on one of the many patios."

"The nurses did not have a great bedside manner, they seemed to more in a hurry to get the job done and did not put a lot of care into their work. The CNA's, however, were awesome. The ladies that I had contact with there treated my friend with compassion and care while still enabling him to keep his dignity and class. Seeing this really changed my opinion about assisted living facilities. The Waters of Dillsboro was clean and well-kept. They served nutritious meals and had staff that assisted some residents with eating. The staff showed patience and seemed to really care about the people they were helping. I did notice that the CNA's would occasionally do some things that only nurses are permitted to do. for instance, a CNA changed a bag collecting bowel movements before cleaning a resident up because the nurse was taking a very long time, and the resident was uncomfortable in the mess. The CNA even stated that she was not suppose to do that, but the lady started crying, so she did it anyway. I do not believe that she was being a bad assistant, but the nurse was not up to par. "

"My wife is in Western Hills Nursing & Rehab Center. That's where she went for rehab, and when they discharged her, she stayed there for long-term care. Not having had any experience with this before, I think it's OK. I think they're doing a pretty good job. They do check on her fairly often. The only thing is they don't have a doctor there full time. My wife's room has been kept very clean. The only problem I have is they don't have a private room available for her. She is in with a woman who is hard of hearing and keeps her television up very loud and screams for the nurse all day. My wife was seeing a therapist, but she was not making any improvement, so she was discharged into long term."

"We have had our loved one at the waters for a few years now. We have tried another facility prior and that facility was a joke. I will say we have had a rocky road getting things handled but honestly I can say now that was a lot more on our end and not the administration/nursing. The facility is on the smaller side, and alot of YOUNG faces but I can say my grandfather is well taken care of. I know he hates being bothered with anything. But I have seen first hand the aides going out of their way to make him more comfortable for things he hated most which that it's self is. An accomplishment!!. There may be a few staff members that could smile a little more :) but all in all I would recommend this facility. They have improved and grown alot these last few years under new management."

"My family’s experience with Hillebrand was phenomenal. There is such a stigma associated with the words “nursing home” but this facility works very hard to create a culture of change, kindness and positivity. You can tell that they are different from the moment you walk through the door. We knew that our mom/grandmother was being cared for and treated with dignity. From her admission, nursing care, to discharge, each member of the staff gave us guidance and advice in an area we don’t have much prior experience. We are eternally grateful for the care she received, and wouldn’t consider any other facility on the west side for nursing or rehab!"

"I toured Belmont Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. It's local, and that was the biggest thing that steered me towards the ones I'm looking at. It looked very clean, and everything looked very nice. It was just like a walkthrough to where I could see the dining area, one of the empty rooms, and what it looked like. I saw some of the common areas, which were nicely furnished. The staff was very helpful and nice."

"My mother's friend is at Aventura at West Park. I think it's a wonderful place. She is in the nursing home section with rehabilitation. I love it. She is very happy there. It's wide open, it's always clean, and the staff is wonderful. They're very, very pleasant. They always say hi and ask if we need anything, which is very nice. Years ago, you could tell when you were in a nursing home because of the smell, but you didn't notice that at Aventura at West Park. It's very clean and it's kept very nice. I like it. I go there about every couple of weeks or so, and I've never had any problems whatsoever. It's always a very pleasant visit. The staff seems very on the ball. Whenever I see them, they're not walking around and staring at their phones, which I've seen in other places. But they are very diligent. With regards to food, my mother's friend mentioned the food is not always hot when she gets it, but they're grossly understaffed from what I understand. But the ones that are there are very efficient, and I don't see any of them just doing nothing. They're always busy doing chores or whatever it is that they do in the hallways. I think they've got a beautiful staff. There is a place where you can sit outside. There are seats and benches out along the front, which is nice. They have bingo, TVs, and beautiful community rooms. It's pretty, and I think it's a very nice place. "

"Nancy is in Mountain Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation. She's been bedridden for over 6 months. It's a 26.8 mile drive from my house, and it's not a very good area. It's close to downtown Cincinnati. It's getting ready to change hands and have new management. It's kind of an old, run-down area. They get around to cleaning up the rooms every once in a while. The food they would bring her up was next to nothing. I will have to run at times when I get her something to eat or get her the yogurt with protein that she needed. I don't think they follow through on the place. I'll go in there and the hallways will be dirty. They'll have food trays laying on the dirty microwave in the lounge, and I'll have to move the dirty, smelly food tray off the top of the microwave in the sitting lounge that they use. There are times she says they would forget about her and come back later on in the evening when she needed medication. I don't think it's top-notch care like a person should have. I do feel a little bit more comfortable in her wound care because of Rick. "

"Mom is staying in Villaspring. It is a nice place and it has a Medicaid bed available. I guess there are fancier places out there, but this is a nice one. They are not as larger as I like and the rooms are as not as large as I want it to be, but it is an inviting and a very homey place. The service that they provide is adequate. It can be better in some areas, but they do have very compassionate and caring staff. I think like all homes, they can have more staff. For the most part, we have not experience any staff that is not caring or not very respectful with our mom or very responsive to any concerns we may have. They have an activity director there that keeps them very active on anything they want to be involved in. Mom seems very happy with her food and the food seems adequate. However, I haven't tried it myself. They try to keep them out of the room and into the activity room with things going-on on the better part of the day. "

"I don't think the sanitation is good in Florence Park. My mother broke her leg and she was bedbound and a couple of times she had to lay there on her own spills for quite a while before someone came and it usually happens on weekends when they are short of staff, but through the week, everything seems to be handled pretty well. I don't think the rooms are as sanitary and clean. The people are just fine and I have no issues. They came every time we had to address something. The cleaning staff need to make sure that the rooms and bathrooms are clean and disinfected definitely. They need to be more alert especially on weekends. "
