"I liked Jennings Terrace. I liked how friendly everyone was. They answered a lot of questions. They were very thorough with their information. They were very kind. They give everybody their own space. They give everybody space to eat and a space to exercise and keep their skills up-to-date. It was clean. It looked good. There was an exercise area to keep their mobility. There was a courtyard."

"My mother will be moving into GreenFields of Geneva. We chose it mostly because of the location. It's very close to one of my other siblings. She'll be going to memory care. I like that there was a separate dining area like each area was separate. It looked like a smaller dining space for memory care and the unit itself was in a U-shape. They have nursing staff available 24 hours a day. The staff during the tour was great. She gave us a lot of information, was upfront, and has helped us through this process as we are starting the move. What they had to offer in terms of activities and the availability of physical therapy and speech therapy is five stars. We have to have a doctor prescribe that, but it's nice that it could be onsite."

"We toured Brookdale Lisle's independent living for our father-in-law. Our salesperson, who's also the person who gave us the tour, was very nice. She answered all of our questions, showed us everything, and a couple of rooms. She showed us a studio and a one-bedroom, the ones we were interested in. She also showed us their nursing station and all their amenities. She was very pleasant and we enjoyed having the tour with her. They had a pool for exercising, a library, and a fitness room. They have a little garden outside and a garden group if you want to go gardening. It seemed like they had activities throughout the day, too. Their dining room was very clean and very nice. They had a little outside patio in the summertime. They put tables and umbrellas out there if you wanted to eat outside, and that was nice. The room we saw seemed very clean. The people we saw seemed happy to be there. There was a room where people got together and played board games. We saw a few people doing that and people exercising in the exercise room. It was a pretty big facility, and it was very clean. My father-in-law was pleasantly surprised. He said it was a lot nicer than he thought it would be, and I agree with him. We might be going back because they have happy hours every Friday, so my father-in-law kind of wanted to go to one to meet more people to kind of help make up his mind."

"This facility located in the surburban part of Illinois was very impressive in appearence., The staff was very personal and friendly with myself, and provided me with all the information I needed at the time of my visit. The residents are allowwd to smoke with staff supervision. Meals are served on trays, with resident's choices in most cases. There is no on-site dialysis services, and the facility does provide services to skilled level care. The rooms are mid-sized with two sharing to a room. The grounds are well-kept, and there are numerous activities. groups going on thru out the day for the residents to participate in through out the week. The quality of care appeared well-managed, I would rank this facility a 5 out of 5 stars. "

"Hillside didn't want to take my husband because he was agitated. However, he did stay there for one day. It was short-term. I didn't like it though. My husband wasn't happy either. He wanted to go outside and look for me. When I came back to pick him up, I saw the room was dirty. They need to make the place cleaner. "

"My mom will move to The Pearl at The Tillers, a skilled nursing facility in Oswego. I have visited the place. They have rehab and they also only allow 24 long-term patients. The nursing staff is full during the day and there are two nurses at night so that's one per 12 patients. Compared to other skilled nursing facilities, this was the best fit for my mom because she's going to get more help compared to being in one where there's one nurse for every 30 people. The staff is very welcoming and it's a very nice facility. When you first walk in, there are tables, chairs, and couches with electric fireplaces. They even have a Starbucks there. They have a nice daily menu. Any day my mom can get a cheeseburger, a hot dog, or a slice of pizza. There's a list of 5 or 6 things my mom can get every day if she doesn't want what's on the menu they cook daily. They have different things every day."

"My brother stayed in The Pearl of Orchard Valley for rehab. They were very short of help for the most part, so that was part of the problem. Some of the staff was good, some of the staff was not. He seemed to like the food. The facility wasn't clean all the time. The size of the room was good."

"Asbury Gardens is nice, but it was kind of far from me. You will get the whole apartment, and it will be nice. It was a little cleaner than the other ones that I saw. The place was big and the decor was very contemporary. I like the environment. The apartment had a little kitchen, but there was no stove. They only have cabinets, a little refrigerator, their own bed, and their own washroom (which I like). The person who gave me the tour was very professional and helpful. They showed me the menu and it was OK. The facility was very clean."

"I toured Alden of Waterford. It was nice. I got there and the lady who helped me was helpful. They have a clubhouse and they have a pool table. They had a little cafeteria area and fireplace, and it was all redone. They had a little golf area outside and a grill. It was nice. I visited the home and it was a two-bedroom, two-bathroom like a townhome there. It was very nice but too much for a friend so she didn't go for it."

"My grandma spent her last days here. Everyone at Regency was attentive, kind and so helpful with my 95yo grandma. She was legally blind and didn’t hear the best, and all the staff spoke to her and would explain exactly what they were doing. They took amazing care of her until her last day. Thank you Regency staff for doing God’s work!"

"My husband stayed in Arcadia Care Morris. He was there from the 10th to the 30th. For the first 10 days, our insurance was covered. For the next 10, I had to write two appeals. They were going to charge me $400 a room for him to stay on the therapy side, and then it was like $300 to be in the nursing home side. The nursing home side was dirty. It smelled. I couldn't wait to get him out of there. It was awful. One side is rehab, which was fine, clean, and nice because the people were just there for therapy. The nursing home side is in the same building, but it was unacceptable. I do think that their meals were pretty good. They pretty much kept track because he was diabetic. Their kitchen did a good job in selecting food and changing out things for my husband, so that was good. If you took him out in the wheelchair, there were just some sidewalks. There was a patio with grass as high as your hips. I didn't see anybody take advantage of that other than a couple of workers who would go out there and smoke, but other than that, there was no patio where the people could go out and sit and enjoy. It had a fence around it where the people would be safe, but nobody cut the grass, pulled the weeds, or did anything with it. There was no shade in the front. The building itself looked fine. The building from the outside was brick, and it looked really nice, but once you went inside, the housekeeping, I would give them a one at best. The floors were not even clean, but I did notice their housekeeping was like a couple of young girls. They've got to have somebody a little bit older. They could have wiped the floors up nicely. He didn't participate, but I'm sure they did have things because they had Elvis one afternoon. So, in that department, they did pretty well. Their therapists, both were wonderful, but they were leaving the same week. So, both therapists were going somewhere else. Arcadia is awful. I didn't choose it. It was kind of chosen by the hospital."

"Was in rehab there for three months. Suzanne D. is a great administrator. Had some great nurses and CNA’s but of course some not so great. Having been a patient in two other nursing homes, I was surprised that the rooms weren’t private. Overall a nice facility. Think pay scale could be better and pay could be based on their production. "Lakewood Nrsg and Rehab Center was excellent. They have good staffing. They kept my mom clean and they kept her fed as much as they could. The atmosphere was very good. Its location was in good spot too. It was 25 minutes from where I lived. My mom shared a room with a roommate. They kept her room clean. She went to watch a couple of movies, but she wasn't very active at that point. They have movies and bingo. The staff members were awesome."
