"Overall, I feel that this was a nice facility. My grandfather lived there for about a year. When I went to visit, the staff was very nice and helpful. The facility itself was set up very nicely and it was easy to get around. They also seemed to have a lot of different areas for the residents to do different activities. The food seemed pretty decent as well. The residents appeared to be relatively happy with the staff. It was nice to see that the staff members did care about the residents. This was especially important to me because I had a relative living there. When looking at different assisted living facilities, some seemed dirty and appeared to have staff members that were pretty rude. This facility was clean and had a caring staff. They also had a nice outdoor area for the residents as well, which i thought was very nice. Overall, this is a good assisted living facility and I would recommend it to others. "

"Jennings Terrace was OK and had everything we needed at that time. The staff was very nice and very helpful. I observed how the nurse and the staff worked with the patients, and it seemed good. "

"My wife is in Addolorata Villa. They watch movies, and they play games. They go on a bus trip twice a week, and they go to different stores and other places. My wife gets three meals a day. The staff is fine. I think they are doing a good job. They are quick in responding to her needs. I think it is a nice place. They keep her busy all day. "

"First of all i just want to thank everyone at VeraCare from the top administration to the hourly waged employees. My father was clean as well as his room, and the facility i never smelled anything except for bleach and soap.. Everyone was friendly and focused My father had been in the hospital since Feb 5, 2018 he came to VeraCare in the middle of march on oxygen, a trach in his throat and other medical problems. My father came home April 16th without the trach and talking i never thought he would see his house again. I waited a week to do my review so i could collect my thoughts, its been a hard long 1 week and i thank you all for putting up with my father and his antics, Hats off ladies and gentlemen you all did a wonderful job and a special thanks to the 2nd floor and my only complaint is that i would have liked some step by step paperwork of the process, like a flow chart and more communication with the administration, its a lot of information to remember Thank You April Cooper A."

"I liked Aperion Care Burbank. It was the best one we found, even though they had three beds in the room. The place looked clean. It was the cleanest one. Our issue is that we wanted my friend to have a private room. It is a nursing home and rehab. The staff was very good and very cordial. They gave the tour and answered questions that I had. They were tending to the residents. There were three residents per room, and they had their own TVs, closets, and bedside tables. The whole place was clean. One thing I liked about them is that they have the residents get out of their rooms to go to the cafeteria area. They take them outside for walks. They don't let them lay in bed all day like some of these places do. They get them up and out. They have activities for those that are able to do the activities. They have an activity room. They have a room with a bike and treadmill. There are also small things they can do with their arms, if they're able to do so. A lot of them are in wheelchairs. My friend is in a wheelchair, too. When I went there, they were kind of congregated in the cafeteria area. They were just doing their thing. They were eating. They had a gathering, and nobody was in their rooms. They were all outside, and their beds were made up. It was clean. They have a schedule of what they get for their meals every day. My friend is diabetic, and the staff said they have alternatives to the meal plan. If somebody doesn't like this or that, there are some alternatives to the meals that they give them. There is some construction going on right now on both sides of their street. It is easy to get to, and they have parking. The grounds are cared for and manicured. The only drawback is we were trying to find a private room for her, but they have three beds in there. The staff told me that when they bring the residents in, they put them in a room by themselves so they can evaluate what their temperament is. They try to put them in a room with somebody that compares to their personality, which I thought was a good thing."

"My son is in Oak Lawn Respiratory & Rehab. I chose it because he's self-pay and it was in the budget he could afford. The people are very helpful. They know all of their patients by first name, what they can do, and everything. I just love the interaction they have with their patients. They do not let them lay in bed. He was bedbound, but the day after I put him there, they had him up fully dressed in a wheelchair. They take the footrest off and make them walk in the wheelchair. He's in a room by himself. It's a large room. The only thing is that the facility is not modern. They have old floors and everything, but the care is excellent. The food is excellent because they invited me to have dinner with him one time. He's there for rehab, but he will be released before Thanksgiving. What I want him to do now is to be able to get in and out of bed by himself and to get around easily. The staff is excellent. It's clean. They have all kinds of activities for them. They can go through the whole nursing home while they're there. They're not confined to their room. They can go wherever they want to. When I asked him what time he had to go to bed, he said they don't have a bedtime. They can go to bed when they want to. I know they brought in a movie last week. They have different daily activities. They have ice cream day. They might order out from a restaurant one day. They may have religious people come by and talk to them. They have a calendar, and each day they tell you what the activity for that day is. I think the value is good. They got him some kind of stuff that helps pay some of his bills. The financial department is excellent. As she explained, anything that the patient was entitled to, she would get for him."

"The location was clean. The food was decent. The rooms were of a nice size- fit for visitors. The staff was professional and very kind. Upon entering, they were particular about his medication and his possible needs. They monitored his insulin intake quite well. I humorously called one of the night nurses the insulin ninja. He made sure my husband stayed aware of his numbers for the day and the amount of insulin he was receiving ( he was on the assisted living side.) I was not there for the PT he received, but my husband found the therapists reasonably competent. He wondered if he could go there as an outpatient for therapy, but we did not follow up and went another route. I gave the facility four stars only because I discovered that a doctor had come and changed his medications. I was not informed of this. The level of medication he was put back on had caused problems in the past. I blame this on the doctor overseeing his case, not the facility. The one thing I can say is the staff, while competent ( as far as I could see), was small and understaffed. However, having been to another facility and checking around is the case for most nursing homes now. My husband did not get to participate in the activities at the facility because he was not fully vaccinated. He was offered to become so, but due to an emergency issue requiring hospitalization, he did not get the shot then. Overall I would recommend this facility. I felt comfortable with his stay. I visited daily and staggered my visits to see that his care was as it should be."

"We visited a friend at ManorCare Health Services. The staff were very nice and cordial. They seem to take care of all the patient's needs, and the place was very clean. Their rooms were very nice. Their dining room is very nice as well although we didn’t eat there. It was very easy to get around. I was really impressed with the way that it was so clean, and a lot of nursing homes are really not clean and smelled, but this one didn’t. "

"My dad was at Aperion Care Oak Lawn, and it was pretty good. The people are very, very nice and treated my father very well. The staff was very good. We have absolutely no complaints about this nursing, just a little under staffed. The physical department was really amazing. Their food was fine. "

"I toured Midway Neurological / Rehab Center. It's a large place. The director was the one who gave me the tour. He told me some of the patients have a tendency to wander off, so they stationed a security guard right here at the door so nobody would wander off. You wouldn't be able to tell he was a guard. He was sitting at the table, and he was watchful of all the residents coming and going. The facility was extremely clean. The staff was extremely kind, and he answered all my questions. The dining area is large. They got another area off from the dining area where it's just for eight people if they don't along with the crowd that's in the larger dining room. They have laundry services, physical therapy, and speech therapy, and they have activities in the yard and activities in the lounge area. They also have a TV. In another part of the dining area, they have a section for movies. They show movies there and any resident could come, and you could watch movies. They could do karaoke, too. They have a big machine for that if they want to do that. The staff who gave the tour was very helpful."

"My mom was in rehab at Bridgeview Health Care Center. She was there for three weeks. Her experience was fine. The staff members were excellent. Her room was excellent. She said the food was good. They kept everything clean."

"I had a friend at Renaissance and I did visit her a month ago there. They were really giving her pretty good care. It’s a nice-looking facility and her room was clean. When you enter the facility it's nice and clean. The outside is very attractive. I'm sure they do have programs although I don’t know what they were. I had brought her some food and I think the food is not that good. Her dinner would have been an egg salad sandwich and I've never heard of an egg salad sandwich. Her meal wasn’t that appetizing. "

"My husband went for rehab at Avantara Chicago Ridge twice. I think he liked the food, as far as I know. They did do therapy, but they couldn't go downstairs to the facility because of COVID. He had to actually do his physical therapy in his room. When I went there, everybody was nice. I had no problems with the staff. I do like the fact that they have you come out, so I have my husband's progress. They are very cautious about COVID. They had to put on a gown and mask up. I thought the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The building was clean. The waiting area that they have you sit in until they come to get you was clean, but the furniture was a little old. They do accept Medicare and Medicaid."

"On our inquiry of Evergreen, they made wonderful promises with regards to my father's needs that's why we placed him there for a rehab. The facility was nice and clean. It also smelled good. It seemed that they have an attentive staff. However, when I go and visit him, he was just there lying in his bed. He got tired of lying and watching TV that he told me, "I'm not moving, I'm not doing nothing." I asked them why weren't they teaching him how to walk with a walker and why wasn't he in therapy? They said, "Well, he's at risk for falling." I thought if he was going to fall somewhere, it might as well be there, not at home. That's why he was there in the first place - for therapy. I checked this rehab center out on the internet and it seemed like a wonderful place; however, that wasn't the case with my dad. "
