"After breaking my knee in Dec, I stayed at Ocala Health and Rehab for almost a month. Their physical therapy dept is phenomenal- just extremely kind, caring people. Unfortunately the nursing and CNA staff were a mixed bag. There were some that were just plain mean, making fun of the patients that they were suppose to be taking care of and acting really put out if they had to answer your call bell. Then there were the ones that made everything more tolerable. A wonderful CNA, Liberty, who took care of me like I was her own mother. When I was in a lot of pain, she would hold me and let me know how much she cared. There were several others that did a wonderful job taking care of me and were very kind at the same time. I believe there is a special place in heaven for these people. The nursing staff was the same. There were some that were very caring and others that would ignore my calls and make me wait for hours (yes, hours)."

"When my mother got out of the extensive care at the hospital, they suggested I put her in for a few weeks to get her back stronger in Avante. The staff was very kind, it was very clean, and the food was a lot better. The therapists were good, and the nurses were very helpful. CNAs were very helpful. She still was impacted though, and they didn’t pick up on it. The same doctor works there, but I insisted that she have a different doctor, so they gave her a different doctor. One CNA picked up on the fact that she had impacted bowels, and she said I think your mother needs to go to the hospital. Our insurance company had not approved a wheelchair, so they sent us home on Thanksgiving Day with no walker and no wheelchair, and I managed to get her into the house. We had Thanksgiving dinner, and she fell again. It was probably as good as you are going to get. "

"Hawthorne Village of Ocala is nice. The thing with this facility is if you require even just a little assistance, you have to go to the assisted living unit and my mom does not like that because she has friends in the independent living unit. The facility was attractive. The people who live there were nice. It was a very active independent community. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They offered us food at lunch time and it was good. The rooms and apartments were nice and spacious. You have a choice if you want a view of the woods or the courtyard. "

"My mom has been in this facility for the past year. To her this is home now. She has such a great group of caring nurses and c.n.a.'s. I was shown this when my mother was recently hospitalized and they called and checked on her daily. Always offering support and prayers for her. Are they perfect? No, but then again no one is. I do know if you have any type of issue if you go to a supervisor it will be handled. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for rehab or permanent home for their loved one. "

"This facility is great and presents very well. The smell throughout the facility is wonderful along with it's appearance and staff. I highly recommend this facility to families friends and community members. The food is outstanding along with the daily activities. I was glad my family picked this facility. "

"I spent 13 days in this facility recovering from major surgery. I cannot say enough about the nursing staff. Especially one nurse in particular named Kelly. If it wasn’t for his smile and positive attitude I don’t think I would have made through as successfully as I did. He was always professional and took time to answer my questions. He made my family feel like they were part of the program as well. I also want to mention the food was fantastic. I’ve never had food this good in a hospital before! Thank you to everyone at Encompass for making one of the worst periods of my life so much better. "

"Mom moved into Ocala Oaks Rehabilitation Center. She's gonna go to rehab, but she's there for long-term care. We liked what we saw. We liked the way it was run. It's very secure, and there's a lot of constant interaction. Everybody there looks happy. The residents and the employees were extremely friendly when we were on the tour. They knew everybody by name and the residents greeted them like they were friends. And it was just a really warm atmosphere. They have a salon, and rehab, they have in-house dining in the dining room, and they have laundry. They do laundry, and they have skilled nursing. Mom says the food is good."

"The rehabilitation Dept. is A+++ The Trainers are top notch, they are caring, patient, and work with you at any level you need. They took me from a wheelchair and unable to do anything for myself, to a normal life. I can now cook a meal, walk from one end of my home to the other. I cannot thank them enough. Super job to the gang!!! Love you all."

"Researching nursing care centers, and rehab centers has been very important to me. I am in my mid-70s and I may need care sometime in the near future. My visit to Timber Ridge provided information for future decision making. First of all, I found the nursing staff and management staff to be excellent during my visit. All of my questions were clearly answered in detail. I found the facility to be clean and date and well staffed. Timber Ridge will be at the top of my list when I have to make a decision in the future. Thank you very much! "

"We toured Chatham Glen Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. It was very nice and very clean. Everything looked very nice. The lady who showed us around was the receptionist. They were very nice and helpful. They have different areas to sit in and do things. They have PT. They have open areas that you could visit with your family and so on. It is very expensive to get in there, and there's a two- to three-year wait. Regarding security, you have to sign in to visit people."

"My mother was at The Club Health and Rehabilitation Center at The Villages. There was absolutely nothing I liked about it. They neglected my mother. They did not answer the call lights. The food was not great. The staff was rude and ignorant. And there is not one good thing I could say about that facility. I would not put my enemy in that facility at all. The place was rusty, dusty, dirty, and ratty tatty. They need to improve the care of their nurses and they need to renovate. The front lobby looked spectacular. But then when you go in the back and you go into the rooms, the rooms had chipped wood, chipped paint, and dirty floors. They needed to have supplies. They didn't even have bedpans. They ran out of bedpans and my father had to go buy one at a store. The staff needed more training. I probably went 3 or 4 times to the administrator to try to resolve things. They need a whole new makeover and they need a whole new staff training for that place to be anywhere close to where my mom is at right now."

"I'm in rehab at Buffalo Crossings. It's a ten all around. My husband and I both came over here after a hospital stay. The staff has been very helpful. The nurses and the CNAs are wonderful. The physical and occupational therapy has been fantastic. The food is very good. I'm having a chef's salad today that's really good. My husband is enjoying his food, too. He said it's so much better than hospital food. We're in different rooms, but they're doing so well with the COVID. All the staff members wear N95 masks. You have to stay in your room, but I couldn't really move around too much anyway. They are keeping everybody 14 days isolated, but your family can make an appointment and they will wheel you outside. You're behind partition and they can come up and see you. They can't come into the facility to see you. They're doing everything right as far as I'm concerned with COVID, and the staff is very knowledgeable, especially for me. They have to get me up and out of bed, and the physical therapist and occupational therapist push you, but I want to get myself going and be able to go home, so that's good. The rooms are beautiful. They look like a hotel room. I can see right out my door if I was able to go out. They bring all your meals to your room because of the COVID restrictions, but normally they have dining areas out there where you can sit. It looks like a hotel lobby out there. There's a fireplace and a TV over it. As much as I can see, it looks beautiful and upscale, like a Hyatt lobby. They have an activity director, and because of COVID a lot of things are different, but I happen to have my iPad with me, so I'm either reading, or they have the big screen TVs, or doing research, so I didn't ask for anything recreation-wise. Today, the staff came and brought a welcome balloon, and they already have my plan of care case management set up for next week. Normally, they have a happy hour, but because we're in our rooms they come around. They even have beer or wine and snacks and sodas, and they just bring it to your room individually because of COVID. I know my husband is getting a newspaper every day, which he loves. They're doing what they can during COVID. I'm sure there are other things if I was interested, but I told the young lady that pretty much between the therapies and the things I have to do I don't really need anything else."

"We toured Lady Lake Specialty Care. The area we visited was clean, but it wasn't nearly as nice as the other two we visited. It's older. It's probably 30 years old, so it was not up-to-date. The staff who gave the tour was friendly. They showed you around them. They were nice. They were okay."

"The rooms are two patients to a room and several are four patients to a room. My loved one actually likes being in the four patient room over being moved to a semi-private room. The facility is a bit on the older side, but quite functional Everything is clean and organized The staff is kind, caring, attentive, and gentle. My loved one is well cared for and the staff know her by name. The staff are up lifting and interact with each other with smiles on their faces. After observing the staff for several hours on a weekend, I found everyone to be thoughtful, kind, and respectful to the patients and that the day ended with the same smiles that the staff started out their day with. The admissions office is extremely knowledgeable and prompt in their responses. The business office is wonderful and made themselves available to answer all my family's questions. The activities director is very active with providing the patients with fun activities and also works to help each patient through their personal issues such as missing their family and how to set up video calls for the patient to have with their families in an attempt to help them to adjust to their new normal. The social service office is welcoming, supportive, caring, and willing to help in any way possible. The staff are prompt with checking the patient's vitals 24 hours a day. My loved one had a drop in their blood pressure during the night and the staff took prompt action to address the issue. Having been in multiple facilities across the country, I am most impressed by the attitude and caring hearts of the staff at Avante Inverness. That means everything to my family and I. "
