"What I like about this facility is their amenities which includes 24-hour emergency call system, physical therapy and fitness room, recreation room and library, and hair salon and manicurist. They also have a great security system which is the Wander Guard Security System so you do not have to worry about your loved ones safety while you're away. "

"They're really good over at San Pablo Healthcare Center. Everything is good. I have no complaints with them. They do good with the care and the food. The rooms are nice; they're spacious. Sanitation was good also. I like the friendly staff. "

"Creekside Healthcare Center was very clean, and they were very nice. The people seemed nice, and first impressions were nice. The rooms are clean, appropriate, and nice. They were double beds. It didn't have a smell, they were inviting, and they were not afraid to show me around -- which was a good sign. I actually stopped and asked a couple people who were sitting in a room "Are you happy here?" They were like "Yeah!" so I would give them a thumbs up for now. "

"The ladies that we saw at Fairfield Post-Acute Rehab seemed comfortable, content, cared for, and clean. They provide them with activities if they choose to participate in them, and one of the ladies plays bingo. They always appeared very kind to them. The facility always seemed clean, and there was not an unpleasant smell."

"My mother is in Napa Post Acute (Formerly Golden Livingcenter Napa) right now. They are working with her, and they give a lot of attention to her. She's had a lot of people coming in. The doctor, nurse, social worker, occupational therapist, and other therapists, all talked to me and explained to me what they were doing. They had a team come in to check the condition of her skin. The lady at the desk was answering phones and took the time to run into her room and give the phone to her. When I first walked in the facility, it kind of smelled like pee, but the area where my mother is didn't smell like pee."

"I was in Napa Post Acute. The food was decent and they took really good care of me, and there was a little TV and everything. It was only me and one other guy in the room. They just remodeled the place, and the rooms were really nice. The place is really, really clean and nice, which is what you're looking for. It's more of a rehab place. They got me up twice a day and made me do some walking and stuff. The staff was great. They have a gym. They bring your food to you."

"I was in the need of a nursing home inbetween my stays at the hospitals. I had the pleasure of staying at Bayberry. Not only did they take care of my medical needs but they handled the emotional needs of a young woman who had lost her mobility. The food was excellent, the therapy I recieved was good and the employees went out of their way to help me with my daily tasks that I found difficult. Although I depended on the nurses so much, some how through their kindness and understanding I kept my dignity. "

"My mother, Jan, was admitted to Shields Nursing Center after being discharged from Doctors Medical Center. She, just like anyone else, did not want to go to any nursing facility, because she missed home so much after being in the hospital urgent care for about four months. From her feedback as well as from my personal visits, the staff were very friendly and helpful even though they were very busy doing their best to care for so many people. The food was reasonable. The facility does need more improvement on the lighting in the rooms. The rooms are small, which is not the factor. The rooms have a dark interior which seems to bring gloom to not only the patients but the visitors as well. Knowing the buildings are quite old, I am sure some time the rooms will be brightened up, which will help in brightening up the patients who stay there. I would like to add, that my mother needed to have all her pain meds upon discharge from the center, and even though the full prescribed amounts could not be released, they were so compassionate enough to give her samples and whatever amounts that could be approved right away. Though I was not a patient staying there, I still miss the wonderful staff and my mother would say the same. Rest her soul. "

"My sister has been at Pleasant Hill Post Acute. For a few months following a stroke. The care has been extraordinary! I will start with the reception desk. I live several hours away and when I would call to talk to my sister they were kind and took the time to check to see if we could connect! My sister praised the food and loved bingo:). Everyone who works there new her and greeted her with love and kindness! So thankful she made good progress with Pt so thank you to the team! I only met Shanna as her CN but she answered so many questions with great patience! A big ACCOLADE to Marilyn for your consistent follow through for next steps!!!! You answered our many questions, answered phone calls promptly, and when placement for my sister fell through you worked diligently to provide possibilities and have given resources for us to use in the future! Words are not good enough to say the full thankfulness I feel! May Post Acute continue to thrive as you serve lives!"

"I am the daughter of a patient in memory care. Because I live out of state, I am very grateful for the caring staff who has shown real concern for my mother. The facility is old, and not fancy, but my mother's happiness is of paramount importance, and she is happy and content there most of the time. The main challenge is that the phone system needs work, and it's hard to get someone to answer the phone at times. Over the 5 years my mother has been there, I have learned to trust the level of her care. My mother often sings and dances in their musical evening events."

"Windsor Manor was really good, and they seem to do really well for my mother. There was a mix up at one point wherein they said she can stay there until a certain date. It was like the left arm didn't know what the right arm was doing. They said she has to be off on Friday, but they told me I had another week, so they ended up having to give her another week at no charge. It is hard for me to deal with any of the senior places. But they were good to her, and they really rehab her very well at Windsor Manor. The rehab people were really good. The place was clean, and every time I saw the food, it was very nice. She wouldn't do the other stuff they had going on. The only thing she had to do was wait for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and her rehab. She treated it kind of like a spa. It was fine, and the place is good. I have no complaints about the place. "

"Broadway Villa Post Acute has about 170 beds. Personally, I'm not a fan of nursing homes, but it felt clean, and there wasn't an odor. It seemed rather busy. It felt dark and old fashioned to me. Even though they have recently done a little remodelling and lifting up, it felt so dark and old. They should improve on the brightness of the place. The ceilings felt low to me. It's an older building, but they're trying to brighten it up with brighter colors on the walls and new floors, but it still had an older feeling. The staff was very helpful and very kind. It was very clean."

"I liked Orinda Care Center. The rooms were small and could use some updating. It looked like they had some activities that the people were engaged in. There wasn't much grounds; it was all parking. I liked the feel of it. I am upset that my husband is not able to get in there; unfortunately, they are not taking him at this time. The layout is nice. I wish that they would have more outdoor areas because there aren't any outdoor areas for them now. I think that would be very important for them to be able to go outside. I only saw one room, and it looked well kept. The staff person was very nice. "
