I visited this facility

I was really impressed by TerraBella Northridge's assisted living. It was clean, and the staff was friendly. I also like the amount of security that they had. The rooms were fine. Some residents were doing activities when I was there early in the morning. They had a very nice outdoor area where the residents could sit. I would recommend them to people. Their prices were also reasonable.

I visited this facility

TerraBella Northridge is a smaller facility. The staff that was doing the tours was great. One of the residents there was walking around, and she invited us to see her room, so it was good to see an interaction with a resident because the resident seemed very happy and content there. They explained the meal plan and how families could share a meal with them. The tour was great. That would be our choice for where my mother-in-law could go. They have a courtyard. And to engage the residents, they have scheduled activities, too.

I visited TerraBella Northridge. They're a very nice community. They were very friendly. However, I was not impressed with the fact they charge $2,600 for an assessment. A very nice facility. I'm very impressed with the operation and the people I met there were very nice and very friendly. Everything looks fine. They have activities, games, and movies. The dining room is very nice. I like the facility.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was in TerraBella for 37 hours. She fell three times and the last fall killed her. In the ER, she told me that when she fell she could not get up and she screamed over and over for someone to come help her, but no one came. She finally managed to get up and walk to the nurses station. She went by ambulance to the hospital. I sat by her bedside in the ER held her hand as she took her last breath. Three hours after she died the head nurse from TerraBella called me and in a very sarcastic tone of voice asked me if I knew the cause of death. She did not offer condolences. I told her I did not know the official cause of death and that she’d have to call the hospital. My mom had not fallen in the ten days before entering TerraBella. How did she fall three times in 37 hours in that neglectful, uncaring facility? The care at TerraBella is horrendous!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My LO was a resident for 8 months. I was there most days for atleast a few hours per day to see that my LO received the best care possible so interaction with the staff was everyday. Many staff members were very helpful, but there were a few who were just there for the paycheck and they were rude and disrepectful to residents and myself. Personal cell phone usage by staff took away from time that should have been used to meet the needs of residents. Housekeeping was virtually non existent: it took 5 days to get a roll of bathroom paper towels, (housekeepings job); finally one of the aides secured paper towels, but couldn't put it in dispenser because they didn't have a key, only housekeeping had the key. I was told that housekeeping was rarely on the memory care floor and that also was my observation. As stated in other reviews, getting in and out of the building is a chore, unless things have changed recently. The last activities director my LO interacted with was excellent, the 2 before her, not so much. Building was recently renovated and is convenient to the N. Raleigh area. Complaints to the executive director were answered with form letter/form email response. No place is perfect, and TerraBella is by far not the worst out there, but could use improvement. I was looking at other options when LO passed away.

My father was in TerraBella Northridge for respite. I had zero problems with that place. The staff was great, they took well care of my father for the time he was there. So I had zero problems. I have no negative complaints about the facility, all the staff, and everybody is accommodating and knowledgeable. All kinds of activities. He enjoyed it, from bingo to crafts or different things, but he truly enjoyed all the activities. We went to visit them. He left us in the room because it was activity time. So he did a good job with that.

I visited this facility

The people there at TerraBella Northridge were very nice. But it was a very old facility and I didn't like the location, it didn't seem secure for what we needed. It was in a residential neighborhood, and I thought too many people would have access to it. The staff members were very kind and very informative. They didn't have a lot of amenities, they told me of things they had, but they were in the middle of upgrading and remodeling. It didn't look clean because it was old and they were remodeling it.

I visited this facility

We toured TerraBella Northridge. The facility was more aged, but they told us that they're doing a major renovation in the memory care that was due this summer. The location of the memory care and the fact that it had a central garden outside area were very nice. It seemed like the residents were well cared for. We could not see the dining facility because I think they had one COVID case. We got to walk around the hallways but not see the dining facility. But overall, I think it was a possible place for us to put my mother-in-law. The rooms were small. Like most memory care facilities, they have a daily activity calendar with physical and mental activities. It was published on the walls every month so that residents, as well as the family, can see it. The staff who accommodated us was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Everything was clean, and it seemed well maintained.

I went to TerraBella Northridge and checked out both assisted living and memory care. It was a good tour. They had a lot of friendly and informative people. The layout was big and there were a lot of different apartments. It's just an older facility. You can tell it's one that's been there for a while. There were some things they could upgrade, but it was well-kept. They had game rooms (where they play bingo), a television room, and a large eating facility.

My mother is now in TerraBella Northridge. I don't particularly care for the layout just because the entrance to the facility is the assisted living, and you got to walk through the assisted living portion, go down the elevator, and go outside to the memory care facility, so I don't like the layout of the building. I wish there was an opening specifically to the memory care section without having to go outside. But in regard to the layout, I don't like it. Upkeep is good from what I can see. The rooms are just basic. My mother shares a room with another resident. There are two twin-sized beds and two dressers, and an attached restroom. There's no showers; there's just a toilet. There's enough space for personal items, so the rooms are good. So far, so good. The staff seems to be very accommodating and very friendly. I'm not really sure of specific activities in regard to what she does. From what I've been told, she does participate in group activities if they do arts and crafts. I have not eaten there, but the dining area looks good. My mother seems to think the food is good. When you go into the memory care facility, that first floor really smells like a sewer smell, and I don't think anyone living on that floor doesn't know what's going on with it, but they definitely need to do some remodeling or something. So my only complaint is that first floor, the memory care facility, where it's inhabitable. They really need to do something about that. They've got to do something about that first floor. I don't know what the issue is, but it doesn't seem healthy. It seems to be pretty old.

The people were lively. I thought the staff was excellent. They had an ambassador program, which I think is very nice to help people get acquainted. They have a patio and a courtyard.

My sister and I went here. It seemed fine, but if I would, I'd look for something a little bit cheerier. It seemed fine, but my father would think he was going into a nursing home kind of situation. The woman there was very good, showed us around and gave us a great tour. I think I might like something a little bit newer. I used to live near that place. It was a different kind of facility then. It's kind of down in the hill, small, and the outdoor areas that people could access were not that nice and kinda small. The staff followed up with us and she was very helpful with all the information. She did well, and she introduced us to the staff in the hallway. It didn't have that bright, cheery, or very upbeat feeling inside of it. It was more like a hospital area.

I had a positive tour experience. The staff was very welcoming and showed me the whole place. And they talked about the meals and their push for continued independence as much as possible, in an assisted living community. If my mother needed that level of care, this place would be a good choice. They have older facilities, but they're actively renovating wing by wing. It looks like it's been updated, the dining room and lobby were bright and the rooms were nice. They also talked about taking the residents they could out on outings and things.

It was more of a hotel situation, and the rooms were mostly studios and not very large. The dining area was smaller and had lots of windows but didn't have as much of an open feeling.

It was very nice. The person who toured us and gave us inside information was very thorough and friendly. I would want to go there myself. When I went in, I was warmly greeted. The residents that I saw didn’t seem to be like, “we are stuck here.” They seemed like very pleasant, older people. When she toured us down in some of the rooms, there were no people just lying about because most of them were out. I really hoped that we were able to get my mother into this place, but things changed, and she went into a hospital, a nursing home, and then hospice.

We visited and the staff was helpful. We had a great tour. We had the feel of what it would be like to have someone lived there. It was clean, and they answered our questions very well. The place was homey.

My mother-in-law is here. The staff is helpful. The rooms are nice and clean. Their dining room is pretty, and it is set up like a restaurant. They have activities like bingo, day trips, and music. They have their days filled with things to do. It has what we need when we needed it.
