"I chose Brookdale Skeet Club. The room was private. It was just for one person, and they did everything for you, the cleaning, the cooking, all of it. It was somewhere I could just be in comfort for the rest of my life. The staff was wonderful. The structure of the building was good. The cleanliness was excellent. The rooms were big. They're big enough for what you would need when you're going to an assisted living, and you can get your extra stuff in it. They had a range of activities."

"The best about Brookdale High Point was the communication with the facility. The administrator was very cordial, very personable, and nice, just basically told me that whenever I was ready or if we were able to get my dad ready, she'd be more than happy to help us any way that they could. I appreciate that. It didn't look like a medical institution. It looked like a home. It had a homey feel to it in some of the rooms. Some of the rooms had kitchenettes and some were private rooms. Some were rooms that you shared with other people, but I think that was only if they were in bad condition. It's on the north end of the town of High Point. There's a YMCA across the street. There's some shopping and a grocery store less than an eighth of a mile down the road. There are a lot of amenities around there. They have an activities director. They had crafts. They had a calendar up for scheduled events that they do weekly. They have a karaoke or maybe a band that comes in and plays for them. They have hairdressers and barbers that come and cut their hair if they need it. They have a dining area and it's cafeteria style, but it was very nice. The staff seemed very personable. From the ones that I saw, like the administrator that I talked to, everybody knew who she was, just from us walking around. The nurses and the CNAs that I saw seemed to be busy doing what they were supposed to do, but they all seemed very nice and friendly. Everything that I saw seemed to be in working order. Cleanliness was a four. It didn't seem like anything that I saw as I was walking around was broken or anything. It seemed like everything worked."

"My sister will move into Kerner Ridge Assisted Living. The staff seemed knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. Her friends had their parents there, and they said the food was delicious."

"Brookdale Burlington was nice when we visited but the price was just out of range. We couldn’t afford it. The staff was real nice. They had nice rooms. It was clean. "

"We have found Mallard Ridge to be a haven for our Aunt,the care and concern have been wonderful amazingly SHE is very happy --we never expected the ease she excepted the change with .The staff have been wonderful so far our experience has merited our recommending MR to any who need this level of care,The main thing the knot in my stomach is gone and we are at ease now.Hardy recommendations here. "We went inside and visited Mebane Ridge Assisted Living. We saw a one-bedroom and memory care. It was fine too. We sat in a room that was very nice, and they were giving out refreshments to the residents there. There was a lot of screaming going on, and I don't think my friend would have liked that. It was only because this one woman didn't want to take a shower, so she screamed the whole time. I think that's what turned me off of memory care. I thought it was clean. I saw them having a class, that was an exercise type class or a music class. It was something with exercise and music; they were throwing a ball and stuff. The residents seem to be very, very happy. It was a mix of people in memory care and assisted living. I think these two were more like sister residences. They were just so much alike. It would be hard to pick one over the other. I just met the sales manager, and I just watched a program director. I thought they were very good. They interacted well with me. Everything was nice and clean in both facilities."

"To the naked eye, the Croatoan Village looks like something you would find back in the days of the Croatoan back in the days of John Smith when Virginia was being founded. Don't get me wrong, the place is clean but it just lacks that certain "something". I walked in and asked for a brochure or pamphlet because I was thinking of moving in and I got a laugh out of the receptionist but that was the only laugh I seen throughout the visit. The building, itself, just didn't look like it "wanted" visitors to stay in it. It didn't want to be a 5 or 6 star palace. The staff did not seem too pleasant either. The spaciousness of the village is nice though. There were instances where the caretakers were involved with patients and their activities which were a plus. I only gave this facility two stars because it just did not "knock my socks off" like I was hoping an assisted living facility would but the patients did seem to like it which is what counts most. "

"I visited Abbotswood a couple of months ago to see my grandmother. When I got there she seemed quite pleased with her stay as of now. The environment was friendly. The food was sufficient, and the rooms were not too small, they were a good size. The staff was also very friendly, helping me along the way and being very assisting. I couldn't complain too much about my visit and am glad my grandmother is staying there. I recommend this place to anyone who needs such a place to stay. "

"The new manager on 4th floor is very nice and informative as well as the manager on 2nd floor haven't really talked to anyone else but they seem friendly and the place looks great to me."

"I would say the gentleman that I dealt with was very nice. He kind of indicated that he would go out of his way, but he never followed through in helping me find another place. Morningview at Irving Park was just too fancy for what my father wanted. It looked like a terrific place. Their rooms were actually smaller than the other facility I visited. As I recall, it was a very nice place, but it was more than what my father wanted. They have a community room and a dining room. I don't remember whether they have an exercise room or not, but they do have an activity program. "
