Heritage Oaks was very depressing, very dark, and very close. It wasn't an open, spacious place, and it was not very big for the number of people they had. It was not well lighted at all, and the colors that they chose for the rooms and hallways were not good. The rooms were small, but no smaller than the fancier places; they were about the same size. You're just not going to find a big, spacious room in all of the assisted living facilities. Their list of activities was posted on the bulletin board, and they had about the same kind of things going on as other places. There was something scheduled all the time. I saw the dining room, and it looked like a school cafeteria. I didn't like it at all. If they could just maybe repaint with some cheerful colors and put in more lighting, I think that would help tremendously. I know they can't stretch the walls and make the rooms bigger, but they can change the décor so it’s a little more cheerful.
