My in-laws stayed at The Village at Alameda. We liked what we saw before moving in, but while they were there, the room didn't get cleaned every week as promised, trash didn't get taken out every day as promised, and it wasn't always kept up the way that we had hoped. When they needed assistance and they would push their button, it usually took 45 minutes to an hour before anybody came. We talked to the administrator frequently and she kept saying that's unacceptable and that somebody should be there within ten minutes. They enjoyed the musicals, concerts, worship services, and bible study. The food was OK. When they first moved in there they were told they could have any breakfast item any time of the day, but there were times they couldn't. If my father-in-law wanted another dessert he would be told he couldn't have another one. The administrator said it was unacceptable and yet it continued to happen over and over again.
